Except some of us care about performance too.

I do not see connection with my post,

but performance is there, 10A and up.

Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sony-- high drain--- you cannot go wrong.

Just choose the right battery that is best for your mod, what works for one it doesn't for other. There is no one size fits all:)

No protection on high drain batteries.

There is no ICR battery rated as high drain.

These are basics.

Voltage under load is just as, if not more, important than amp limit.

Which is why high drain IMR or similar batteries knock ICRs out of the park.

Does anyone have a chart for the MNKE 1500mah IMR? I can only find one and it performed worse than the AW 1600 with v drop and mah.

edit: High-Drain 18650 Shootout

That's kind of the opposite of what I have read......that the MNKE really shine in LR vapeing. That's why I bought a couple. Oh well.....lol. I intended to pick up an AW locally to try anyway.

MNKE and AW 1600mAh (NOT 2000mAh). These are the best because they have low internal resistance (because there is less packed into them). They boast 20amp and 24amp max. continuous discharge ratings and last plenty long (full day at work). They are both IMR.

read the reviews here . . ..

MNKE IMR18650 3.7v Li-MN Rechargable Battery - Avid Vaper

and see the comments here

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...=jRsg_F5sC6QY0ItQKGE2Eg&bvm=bv.47883778,d.cGE

compare to others here (check only the 7amp box) . . .

Battery test-review 18650 comparator

Being IMR and being high-drain batts., they are very safe* as they don't even break a sweat on a .4Ω build. IMR is safer than protected.

*safe; conditional to user error/knowledge of application

So per your request i bought 2 of the MNKE IMR 1600mAh (orangies)

they are great!!! for like.. 20 minutes..

then they really die down... that's 20 minutes of continual vaping.

Do you notice a super short lifespan with these?

Dude, that was, like sooooo June . . . . .. :p

I used to get about 10 hrs off a charge on the AWs and 8-9 w/ the MNKEs. (20 minutes . . . . . sheesh)

These days (having taken st0nedpenguin's advice) I'm using the Samsung 22amp 2000mAh.

(which, btw, may just be the newer Orbies, just not in disguise)

20 minutes was a bit of an exaggeration lol

more like, running 2 coils around .5ohms - i'd get 45 minutes to an hour that was SUBURB! After the 2 hour mark is where I noticed it start to drop off, but I understand that goes with the territory when running those kinds of resistances.

I'm definitely going to check out the new hybrids - You guys gave me 2 solid recommendations, is one better than the other?

Quick question for you guys. Just getting into sub ohm stuff with mech mods and trying to play it safe. Why wouldn't I just get the AW 18650 1600maH battery? Its got a 24A cont discharge.

Wouldn't that be the safest play even if I only plan to go down to .8-.7 ohms?

Wouldn't that battery be just fine on say a standard 2 ohm boge carto?

I'm looking for an all around battery that will peform well with sub ohm stuff as well.

Thanks!

Yep, I'm here too, trying to learn all I can!

OK, I ordered 2 18650's, 2 18350's (pocket vape for work), a charger, and a couple of cases for my batteries. I think I'm ready to go! I ordered the Kanthal 28g wire to re-do my Pro Tank with a nano coil. Now I just need to find a place with organic cotton balls...

I appreciate all of your help!

or you can go to Walmart, to yarns section (yes, I know :) look for 100% pure cotton 3mm yarn or similar.

Which one is better?

The 22AMP SX22 is overpriced and meh.

I own 2 of them.

I recommend staying away, they both dip severely, i have no idea if thats a QC problem, I bought 2 SX22's at different time periods. They last for about 3 hours running .4-.6ohm dual coil setups, then after 4 hours they're pretty much done.

Nothing great about them, nothing terrible about them, just "meh" for the price.

in fact, here's what I'm doing at the moment..
