1st RTA? Which one?

The Taifun GT has great flavor, and the build is fairly easy. It shares the same feature as the Expromizer, in that the buildand wick can be serviced without emptying the tank. The Expromizer wins for flavor though. Wicking is crucial with it to prevent it from flooding. Airflow is semi-adjustable by changing the draw tubes in the base. Some clones come with different draw tubes, some don't. For mine, I just remove the draw tube altogether to make it open as possible. Even with it removed, it's really only for mouth to lung hits.

I have owned 2 Taifun clones from 2 different manufacturers, and they both share the same ailment: Slow seepage through the 510 connector. From what I understand, that isn't a concern with an authentic. It's also not a deal breaker for me.

Hmm... I hadn't considered this. It certainly seems like it would be inconvenient, but I suppose I really have no frame of reference. The last time I "dripped" was in the old days when you were just dripping straight onto an stock atty. If any of you remember, it was drip drip drip, take a drag or two, repeat. I know these RDAs have a higher capacity, so surely its not like that, but you still must be nearly constantly dripping, right?

You might do if you're running a dual coil, sub-ohm, something that chews through juice really quickly. I run single coils at around 0.8 - 1.0ohm, 24g or 26g. I use the Innokin U-Can, one full squirt will fill up whichever RDA I'm using, at the moment that's a Stillare, Magma or Origin V2.

First fill lasts me the 20 minute walk to work, and through the morning.
Second fill lasts me the lunch break through to the end of work.
Third fill lasts me the walk home and puffing around the house till after dinner.
Fourth fill lasts me the evening, including vaping in bed while I watch a movie or TV show.

Even then, I'm not getting through the juice to a burnt hit before I fill - you get into the habit of filling when you flavor goes down a bit, so you don't get any burnt dry hits after a while.

I'm not holding a vote or anything, as I'm going to read some model-specific threads and make up my own mind in the end, but so far I have:
- 6 suggestions just generally for a RDA
- 6 for a Tai-Fun
- 4 for a Kayfun
- 3 for and Eleaf Lemo
- 2 for an Expromizer
- 2 for an Aqua
- 1 each for: FlashEVaor v3, Fogger v4, Genesis stlye atty, and an Erlkonigin.

All these suggestions have been really helpful

I have to admit, I still don't know what to decide. I need to go read about each of these, but I am leaning toward a Taifun, Lemo, and maybe and RDA. I have no idea about good RDA's though. Finally, I am still facinated by the Erl. Everyone in it's thread seems so impressed by it though, and its a very pretty thing. I believe all of these can be rebuild without draining the tank too, which really helps with the intimidation factor.

Anyone have any last minute thoughts? Think I should steer away from any of these? Think one of these stands out against?

I know you're interested in owning a tank system, but it doesn't hurt to buy an inexpensive dripper to practice your coiling with. Results are immediate and the consequences of an unsuccessful build are about nil.

My advice would be to save the Aqua and Fogger until after you're comfortable the likes of a Kayfun/Lemo/Taifun. Dual coil tanks add complication to the build and wicking that isn't necessary for a first time builder to enjoy a good vape.

I'd actually like you to give one a try. I know how much you've enjoyed the Fogger V4, but it is my honest opinion that the Lemo outperforms it.

I gotta say I'm interested, I have a handful of foggers, I've been quite the cheerleader, I have been praying attention to the orchid guys , who say their better, but they have no capacity and plastic tanks so those are trash as far as I'm concerned. I would like to get my hands on one of those lemos tho!

As you can see I'm a tank guy. Based on your OP, I still say the FlashEVapor v3.

I love the Taifun GT but it has a very tight draw and a smaller juice capacity. I also have the Fogger v4. Great low cost atty but I wouldn't recommend it to a new RTA builder. Its as difficult to build as the Aqua. I actually love each of these tanks for different reasons.

If you want something that is super easy and straightforward to both coil and wick (this atty is not finiky) , recoil and wick in minutes, can access the coil even when the tank is full, fill straight from the juice bottle without the need of a tip (yes pour straight from the bottle), produces vapor like a dripper, has excellent air flow, has a large juice capacity, and won't leak (even on airplanes), then I would, again, recommend the FlashEVapor v3.

You make a really good argument to pick up a dripper. It would be a good way to practice, and I used a Plumviel at a local vape store once. The experience was very impressive. So what is a good inexpensive dripper anyway? For that matter, what is inexpensive for a dripper?

The flashevapor is one of those I've heard you can put it together without the tank part if you want and use it as a dripper.
I've heard the same about kayfun, but I don't know if it's a particular one or if it applies to all.

I'd take a longer look at the GP Heron because that might make a good matchup with your provari.

I agree it isn't the sexiest and it is on the large size. Then I started loving its looks. Function over form won me over.

As Vapries implied above, if you had experience in building I might suggest the Aqua or Estia. IMO no tank beats those two for vapor but then they are dual and triple coils respectively.

Practice building on an open deck of an RDA will help greatly in your learning curve. That is the main reason that I suggested the FeV. Even my wife, who doesn't build, can do it perfectly. She has since acquired her own.

I'm leaving for Disneyland tomorrow with the kids for 4 days. We are bringing the FeVs and the Reos only. They just perform so well and, if maintenance on the go is required, easy.

BTW, a Reo and an Odin might be another route. Then you can drip without having to drip. Plus they are affordable. 2 ¢

Your best bet probably for a good Taifun clone are Infinite or HCigar. A less expensive one might be fine though. Sorry, don't know what I have as I bought it used, but its a good vape and easy to live with.

I own Kfl+v2's, R91's, a Taifun GT, SqR's and Erl's. The only ones I use anymore are the SqR's and the Erl's. Both great rta's. The Erl's are my favorite. They are easy to build and there is a way to access the build deck without emptying the tank.

I have to admit, I really like the Erl. Its just sexy and the machining internally is beautiful. However, reading the thread on it, it looks like the build is a bit difficult to get just right. Maybe that's just my perspective since I've never built anything.

I am looking pretty heavily at the Flash E Vapor, and lesser so at the Taifun GT, and a bit at the Lemo.

The Erlkonigin if you can swing it (dough-wise). The Erlprinz if you can't/won't. Do it. They are two of the most smartly designed tanks out there.

Easy to build on. Hold a crap ton of juice for their small size. And man, can they toot.

Building on the Erls isn't difficult in actuality. All the problems mentioned in the thread stem from us having too many bad habits from building on other, lesser, devices.
