Alright so I've had both these for roughly 2 months now and used both heavily, I am now exclusively using the KR8, Not only has it performed better but the 510 doesn't work at all anymore! So heres my rundown on why the KR8 is the winner

510
Purchased from HC, got the manual kit w/ 2 standard batts, 2 atties, and 20 blank carts. Shipping from China was much faster and cheaper than from the US so they earned bonus points for that! Once I got the primer fluid out the 510 worked great and produced huge clouds of vapor, I ended up using it for dripping and only around the house because the carts suck, the battery life was originally decent but degraded quickly to the point where i couldn't charge them fast enough. After 2.5 weeks the first attie started to fail and produced little vapor, I soaked it in vodka and hot water rinse, let it dry a few days and it worked great again, or at least another week till it permanently died. Attie #2 worked great till about 4 days ago when it died and could not be resurrected. All in all I like this unit when I'm sittin around and have the time to drip, flavors seem washed out and TH isn't great but dripping with it is great for DIY liquid just to do sampling. With the luck I'm having with Atties and Batts for this thing the KR8 is turning out to be way cheaper! I have ordered 2 mega batts, 2 new Atties, and a passthrough, and I'll give it another shot.

KR8
I have 2 ultimate Automatic Kits from V4L and auto and manual batts from Health Cabin.
Much more solid and better batteries that last much longer per charge, produces great vapor if you can hit the sweet spot between too full and too empty. I love my KR8 because I'm a rancher and I'm always on the go bouncing around in a tractor is not good for dripping! I can take 2 batts and 2 carts and I know I'll be good all day. Flavor is much better and throat hit is much stronger. The carts have been great, I have a wide variety from V4L and have enjoyed all of them except the virginia. I've burned a few carts but thats cause I vaped them dry. I even washed a few out after 5 refills and used them again! I got a 50 pack from HC and they've been great too. Of the two kits I got from V4L the first had a broken passthrough and the second has a non working battery. I have emailed them and they'll be replaced with my next order. The batteries I got from HC worked great at first but after a few charges the cut off time has decreased on both the manual and automatic, down to 4 seconds and then the light flashes 3 times, not sure what that means but its annoying as hell. My batts from HC have 2 large holes where as the V4L have 4 small holes. Also I noticed you can activate the auto switch in the V4L with a magnet, in the HC the switch is made from something non magnetic. So I guess all batteries are not made equally!
I think the KR8 is much better, After 2 months its still working great, and I still have plenty of Carts, some carts have lasted me a week, some for 1 day (Vaped dry) I used it much more than I did the 510 which did not survive the 2 months!

I've been trying for 12 hours to come up with a nice way to put this.. and the words still fail me.

The review and comparison is well..... absurd.

Compare and contrast the hardware failures that you had on the 510 side vs. the KR808D-1 side. Result?

Compare and contrast the amount of $'s spent on atomizers vs. cartomizers. The result?

I just don't see how one can read the review, look at the data, and then stomach the conclusion that was drawn.

Strange.

P.S. This isn't a KR808D-1 vs. 510 thing for me. I frankly don't care. If you had listed the same information for a 901 vs. M401... I would have said the exact same thing.

I don't understand, I thought it was a perfectly good review. Owning both, I completely agree.

The 510 has better vapor and is great if you drip, but the carts are borderline useless and the PCC is large and flaky.

The 808 is great if you run around all day and don't want to fuss with your PV. The auto batteries are MUCH more reliable, and the PCC is slim and classy.

These are just opinions, nobody's wrong or right. YMMV.

You're not following me.... or you didn't actually read the review.

There was an emphasis placed on the fact that the two 510 atomizers died over a 2 month period... and that the KR is/was superior because it is still working. But 2 atomizers probably should die in a 2 month period.. and they are being compared to 50+ cartomizers.... some of which died the first day...???

There was also an emphasis placed on battery life, hardware life, and battery "quality".. Yet the data provided doesn't support the conclusion. The two 510 batteries still "function". The same can't be said for the KR hardware.

Had the review said that he preferred the KR based on flavor, or convenience, or throat hit (as primary features).... I would understand and perhaps even agree.

It's a weird review IMHO.

Comparing Apples to Oranges.

First, the 510 battery is 180mah, the KR8 is 280mah....of course the KR8 will last longer.

Personally, I like the KR808 with a 901atty or a 510atty with an adapter. I like the battery life of the KR808 and the volts it provides. I was told it provides 5.1 volts..don't know if it's true but it sure gives very good vapor and throat hit with the 901/510.

Off topic but, do you need an adapter to run the 901 atty on the KR8 batt?

Scottbee, I have to agree that the review gave a lopsided review as to all the parts for the KR808D-1 and the few parts for the 510. I personally use a little of both as I have KR808D-1 cartomizers on a 510 5volt passthrough. I prefer 5volt to either model but now with the 510 cartos I can do that without any KR808D-1 parts. I think had your review (comparison) been done using the same amount of parts for both units it would have come out different.

Thank you for this great comparison and review between the KR808D-1 vs. 510. Originally, when I first begin looking into vaporing, I thought the
KR808D-1 was the one to purchase, however, after reading the 901 gave great flavor, I purchase it instead. I am very picky about my menthol and tobaccon flavors. After using this 901, off and on, for six months, I am not happy with it. The flavor is great, but I do not get a nice throat hit from the 901, and the carts have to be refilled to often. Seems once the cart is half full, the flavor changes on me. So now I was considering either the KR808D-1 or the 510, for more throat hit. After reading your review, I made my decision to get the KR808D-1, as I had originally thought. Guess I should of stayed with my first impression, to begin with. HA!

Happer Vaporing!
;)

My KR808 is 350mah and it is a great choice when I want to grab and go. I use these when I drink and after eating. Nothing wrong with this choice. I use my Protege in the evening with less nic with VG juice. It seems that this scenerio works for me at its best.

Where did you purchase your KR808 / 350mah? Also, do you have a manual or an auto?

Thanks! ;)
