Ok, some important updates:
For those low power tootle puffers out there, I tested the kanthal TC with a nautilus and stock coil, set at 8 watts......worked just fine.
The other important discovery....that .5 ohm limit in kanthal TC is more of a suggestion then a rule...I put in the .2 ohm trial coil for the tfv4.....after a handful of retrainings, it seems to be working ok.
Strangely, no dual coil builds on my rda's would work quite right, but a tri coil at lower then recommended ohms seems to.....of course this coil seems to wick fast, I'll run it out and see if I get any dry hits

Ok, I've run through half a tank so far, and it does work, but not as accurately as a single coil.....
The regulation aspect seems to work just fine, but the DHP does seem to kick in early....it's useable (which is surprising being .2 ohm) but not ideal if you are a chain vapers, as I tend to be [emoji14]

Now I do like tightly twisted wire, three strands of 32g provide such a nice vape and doesn't require crazy power to get to temperature. Doesn't cook the juice when you release the power like thicker gauge either, I hate when my coil sizzles for 5 seconds after a hit.

Did you try twisted wire? I may have missed the post.

I tried out a twisted wire today....got a pretty nasty dry hit :/

Same deal....this mod shines with single spaced coils, but DHP struggles with any build beyond that.

I have the feeling that with enough tinkering, I could fool the mod into operating right on something like a twisted wire or a dual coil, but who really wants to do that?
I'd love to see them make a mode within kanthal TC specifically for dual coil, and I bet coils like twisted wire and Claptons would work better under that mode as well.

Something I've noticed. In kanthal mode, at lower ohms (0.2 in this case) the screen flashes rapidly when firing. The build is pulling 18.5 amps. It seems to work fine, but the flashing bothers me a bit [emoji14]

How is that? Can you post a gif pic?

It flashes? Like pulses or on-and-off flashes?
