Hey everyone!

I'm an absolute vanilla new vaper. My Joye 510 came in the mail yesterday and as of right now I am exactly twenty-four hours analog free!

I was a smoker of Marlboro Lights, probably about half a pack or so a day -- sometimes more, depended what was going on. My workplace (I'm in healthcare) recently went completely smoke free on all the grounds. I'd bought a mistic to help with those long workdays but was right back hitting the analogs soon as I got in the car. Took the edge off but wasn't enough.

Then someone at the fire station I volunteer for waltzed up and started showing off the KGO purchase he'd recently made, and I was fascinated. Lurked on these forums and just about every e-cig site I could find for about two weeks before buying my starter kit, and yesterday was THE DAY.

The eliquid I ordered along with the kit probably isn't that great (Liberty Flights coconut) but it's enough. Today around a friend I caught a whiff of her analog and was blown away by how...awful it smelled. Wow, was that REALLY me?

I've got a bunch of juices on the way, all ordered after crawling around this forum for suggestions. I'm beyond excited for when they get here, and I'll warm up on my coconut for now. Still working on my techniques for vaping and experimenting with the equipment.

So THANK YOU to ECF for getting me started, and here's to future vapes from a n00b who hopes to stick around!

Congratulations! & Welcome to ECF

Liberty Flights is great for hardware and even some DIY supplies however most of their juice is Dekang and its not mixed. Some people love Dekang, so I'm trying to talk bad about them I'm a big fan of LF and regular shopper. However when I say mixed, you either get 100% PG or 100% VG last I knew. A lot of people find mixed juices of different levels much more satisfying. Such as 30% VG and 70% PG, 20VG/80PG. I like to make juice 25/75 myself on the pure *hehehe cause I can* factor.

Putting your state in your location can be a big help to you on the forum when asking for vendor suggestions as some will want to suggest vendors closer to your location.

Here are a few I like:

Mister-E-Liquid.com Michigan, fast shipping. Amazing vendor, my go-to.

VaporGod.com Pennsylvania, some hits and misses but very cheap, excellent customer service, amazing carto deals(you get free juice with them). Some juices are a hit or miss, but they have well over 100 flavors. I've found their fruit/sweet juices to have luck with.

Sweetvapes.com Some really tasty juice. A little pricy but worth a shot. They're from Wisconsin I think?

Try different nicotine levels to see what works for you like 12, 18, 24 as well as different mix %. You might like higher PG , you might like higher VG.

it's great that you can stay off analogs. don't rush your self with the liquids tastes as your sense of taste will go through recovery stages now and WILL change in the very near future.

Don't be too judgmental with the tastes and liquids, it takes time to realize which tastes you like best and which PG/VG ratio you prefer. what also matters a lot is your e-cig. you may discover that different liquids taste differently using different e-cigs including tanks, carts and cartomizers.

I myself still learn and stick to Virginia flavor which is keeping me away from analogs while i try and taste other liquids from time to time.

be patient and within a few months you will have a clearer picture of your likes and dislikes

Welcome and congrats on 24 hours! I've been analog free for almost a month. We live in NC and use Mad Vapes for all of our liquid and equipment purchases. They are located in Charlotte and the reason I am analog free! Hubbs and I drove down there about a month ago to purchase a kit for him and they gave me a menthol starter kit since I smoked menthol cigs. I haven't picked up an analog since! We've had nothing but great customer service from Mad Vapes so you may want to check out their website as well.

Thanks platinum, I'll definitely keep all that in mind.

Catz, good to know MadVapes is so close! I'll pop in there next time I'm in Charlotte, and see if their shipping to VA is nice and quick for when I'm stuck at home. Have you tried any juices of theirs besides menthol?

ARRR!!!

sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Is EveThePirate by any chance derived from SteveThePirate (of Dodgeball notoreity)? (and, it's OK if it isn't too)

Funny movie. :)

We've had really great results with Mad Vapes, heck, even during Christmas/New Years holidays period they have been super quick with shipping and everyone we met at the warehouse (in Cornelius) when we picked up our first kit was really great. MV was recommended to me by one of the seasoned vapers I work with.

After reading and reading about flavors etc. I picked about 6 different flavors (in 10ml bottles) to try when we got our first kit:

Top Vapor Minthol 16mg
Top Vapor Dekang USA Mix 16mg
Top Vapor Dekang Tobacco (24mg, came with the kit)
Top Vapor Menthol Tobacco 16mg
Top Vapor Black Licorice 16mg
Top Vapor Mad Torro 16mg
Top Vapor Spearmint 16mg

Top Vapor is their house mix label - they do their own mixing (and are an FDA-registered facility, actually)

My wife likes the Top Vapor minthol. It's a really minty type of menthol flavor.

She has also tried the Top Vapor Menthol Tobacco flavor. I like this one a lot. The tobacco flavor in it is really smooth and subtle, it doesn't taste like a burning cigarette but more aromatic, and the menthol in it is nice. Not sure if you smoked menthol analogs or not but if you think you might try this flavor, my one tip would be, give it a day or two before you make a final decision whether you like it or not. It's one of those flavors that seems to need a little extra time to develop once they mix it. (they mix on the spot when they process your order, the bottles have the date they mixed it printed on them).

The flavor you get also seems to depend on what kind of hardware you're using. With the Menthol Tobacco liquid, I've found it really starts to "flavor up" when the carto has warmed up a bit. (we're using SmokTech eGo Mega Dual Coil Black Cartomizer kits from MV). It has a nice, sweet, mellow menthol tobacco flavor once the carto is kicking good.

Anywho, I've also tried their Top Vapor Dekang USA Mix liquid and liked it a lot. (listed under Custom China liquids on the site). It's more analogous to a "red tobacco" flavor although it doesn't explicitly have a tobacco flavor - its hard to describe. But I've re-ordered it again. They're in the process of switching to Hangsen flavor concentrates (because Dekang has apparently decided to not sell large bottles of it anymore), but I did manage to get a 50ml bottle of it at 6mg to dilute the 16mg I got from my last order.

I'm finding that I rather enjoy vaping so I'm diluting the nic level down. :)

I liked all the other flavors too, well, really except for the 24mg Dekang tobacco. I picked up a small (10ml) bottle of 0mg of it with our last order so I can cut the nic level of the 24mg I have left of this liquid (most of the original 10ml bottle), and also some menthol flavor extract, which I'll add a few drops of to, and I am pretty sure I'll like it better then.

All in all though, have to say I'm pretty happy with their flavors. There was really only 1 I didn't care for, but I'll be doctoring it up so the liquid doesn't go to waste. And it gives me a chance to start tinkering with flavor mixing etc. Which I am thinking about taking up as a hobby and to save $$$. But I can't say enough great things about Mad Vapes.

Congrats on making it 24 hours! Of all the times I quit the analogs or tried to quit over ~25 years of smoking, it seems like that first 24 hours was the hardest each time. Its a shame vaping didn't come along as an alternative a long time ago.

See ya on the forums!
