Yeah. I think they’re after the razor blade model personally. Sell their hardware cheap then get it back in coils. The weird bit with that is you don’t have to use a smok atty on a smok mod. The 510 is universal.
Yea. the 510 has become the standard connector. I'm surprised they haven't come up with a safer and more secure connector. Perhaps one that is 20mm diameter for the threads. Make it the same diameter as an 18650 for a more secure, less wobbly and less crossthreadable/stripable size. They could have some offset center pins to indicate a certain type of vape... say... temperature control, wattage, or whatever..there's just so much potential. But logistics wise, it would need a whole new infrastructure, and manufacturing standard that just won't happen.
Now, Smok seems to be the lead player in both mods and atomizers at the moment. First it was Sigeli, then Eleaf, now Smok. It is the first one that's gotten the lead in both atomizer and mods, so they've done things right so far. That doesn't mean they're the best, but they do offer a decent mod and atomizer at a reasonable price. Out of the 5 people I know that vape where I work, four of them own a smok with some version of a "beast" tank.... I'm the only holdout. two have Tpriv's , and two have aliens. I'm sort of left out. I do own a Smok product, but a Warlock Z seems to be my go to device at the moment.
What does all this have to say about not using a smok atomizer on a smok product? Well, with that sort of reputation and popularity, it's easy to get replacement coils and support for something mainstream. It's what's kept Apple in business, and it seems to be working for SMOK as well. Personally, I'd like to see Sigeli come out with a successful mod/atomizer combo to shake up SMOK's grip on the market.
