No.
A 0.5 ohm coil does not necessarily run fine with 30 Watts.
It might run fine with a 80/20 PG/VG juice but burn with a 20/80 PG/VG juice.
It might run fine in the summer but burn in the winter.
One 0.5 ohm coil from one manufacturer can be different from another.
okay I see. Just feel like I make progress with this, and then this burning sensations is back and makes me want to go back to smoking, feels like contant mantanence is needed and still goes wrong.

With a new Primed coil, Start with lower wattage (15) vape a little then turn it and vape, up a little, vape, repeat, till you get the taste you like. Its not about watts it is about taste.
Set it in wattage mode and leave volts alone, wattage will auto give it the volts needed for the coil at that ohm. Simple watts and volts are tied together set one it controls what the other is for the coil ohms.

There is a steep learning curve to e-cigs. Definitely not as simple as lighting a smoke. Just be patient and know that there are a lot of people behind you wanting you to succeed and we are all here to answer questions. You do have to heed the advice though, 30watts is probably too high for your set-up. We have all been where you are and have made it to the other side. You will make it.

The easy answer is: turn down the power. If you're getting a burny taste with a newer coil it's because not enough e-liquid is getting through the wick to the coil so the coil begins to overheat charring the e-liquid and the wicking material. Turning down the power will help you not to vaporize the e-liquid in the wick before it can be replenished. Likewise using a thinner (more PG) e-liquid will wick better.

So does this mean Id have to reset the voltage to 0?
No... As I said it's one way or the other. When you change or set a wattage, the MVP will automatically figure out what voltage will give you that wattage based upon the resistance of the coil. No other adjustments needed...

No, with the MVP you are either driving stick shift without cruise control = Variable Voltage
or you are driving an automatic with cruise control = Variable Wattage

it is one mode or the other. VV mode, you set the voltage, the mod will only output that set voltage, VW mode, you set the wattage that is your sweet spot, and the mod adjusts the voltage to reach that wattage output as best it can no matter the resistance of your coil.

0.5ohm coil, at 30watts should be around 3.9volts, not 5.5volts.

Thanks. Its much better knowing youve all gone through it and are more than willing to give your time to help me find a solution, I felt like ive given up with no answers but just talking about it and going through possible answers has helped. Think im gonna change the juice for higher PG, and turn the MVP right down. Is there any other mods anyone would reccomend? Something small but that I can sub ohm with.

Well???? Did it help?

Before you run off and buy more stuff, did you try setting the wattage only and getting a better vape without burning? You'll probably need a new coil but don't change juice until you figure it out. Chances are good that there's nothing wrong with the juice you have...

Actually you have a pretty good mod there. I would say get familiar with that and your tanks before moving on. Those MVP's are solid mods. I used an MVP 2.0 for quite awhile when I first started. Dropped it several times from about 10 feet up, and I still have it for nostalgia sake. I now use other more advanced things, but for you that will come later. Just be patient with what you have. It's a good set-up.

I've now got it on 25WAtts and it tastes a little better, when I get to the fourth or fith hit it starts to taste a little burnt. I doubt it's the liquid as the guy in store said high VG is perfect for my mod. So I think it may be a combination of using it too high and beginning to run out of juice lol. Gonna stick to it and see if we can get it sorted. These coils are £3.50 a pop so aren't cheap to replace either!

Kyle go hear Ohm's law | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators and play with the numbers and you will see how they correlate with each other.
Hope this helps.

Ah... OK...

Well, as mentioned by others, once a coil gets burnt that taste will always be there. Save up for a new coil or 2 and keep at it. I'm not a big fan of the whole sub-ohm thing so I usually use coils 1 ohm or higher. Not sure what NIC level your liquid is, but sub-ohm tanks usually require a lower Nic level, anything above 6mg will be harsh and could be confused with burning also...

try 20.

thicker liquids wick more slowly, and if you chain vape you're more likely to get dry wick

Okay so stick with high VG, but vape on a lowe power for now?
But I want to priduce big, and more importantly thick clouds of vape, will i lose out on this through not vaping at 30 Watts?

This gets into the territory of upgrading to RDA's, or drip atomizers. This requires building and wicking your coils, but can create your own weather systems with that.
