I bought 3 ego-c twist (generic 1000mah) off of Ebay less than a month ago, and they all have gone out already. Each one lasted about a week before they just stopped working. Each battery still lights up when you hit the switch, however none of them will charge or fire a coil. I have cycled them all, on and off many times (5 button press). I tried the center pin trick for all 3, but it hasn't worked for any of them. Everything looks very clean (pin, threads, etc). Eventually, I tried taking the head off, and I don't see any wires detached or anything out of the ordinary. I have multiple clearomizers (even the 2 different types) that I use, and I know they're all good, since they work with my other batteries.

Recently, I decided to buy all name brand products. Those work great, but I would really love to figure out what is wrong with the other batteries. Does anyone have any ideas or is there anything I may be forgetting about? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yup, I had the same thing happen, 3 within a week or so. Two were cheap clones, one was a Kanger. Wiggling up the center pin did not work for me, either. Mine each had slightly different symptoms. On one, the light lit up and stayed on but it did not fire. On another, it would just blink trying to use it, but it had a full charge. On the other, it gave one very faint puff, but then wouldn't fire until the cartomizer was unscrewed and reconnected. I tried everything to fix them!

Well, I ordered new ones, all clones, and I have NO problems with them at all. I just changed one thing: never, ever screw an attachment on with any force. I VERY lightly screw on the tank or atomizer, just until it fires. When I charge them I screw them in just until the light blinks to let me know it's connected. Extremely light touch = batteries that last. I think it's true of all the eGos, and I consider it a design flaw.

You would think that if screwing stuff on the battery too hard were the issue, that lifting the center pin would fix it. Seems like that's what all the youtube videos and troubleshooting guides say, but it did not fix mine.

I'm still hopeful to be able to get them working again. I will probably try to solder that pin up, since it definitely seems like the most logical place for the problem to be. I have 3 batteries for test subjects though, with no concern if I ruin an already non working battery. I do think I was screwing them in too tightly, also. I'm going to keep a close eye on how far I screw them down with my new Vision and Joyetech batteries. Thank you for the feedback.

Why on earth did you buy them from eBay?

Have been out of the vaping scene for awhile. They were the same clones that I see all over the web and in stores, but were cheaper on Ebay. Figured with so many being sold, they would be worth a shot. Was a cheap lesson, at least.
