Hey Everyone, I just passed my 3rd week in and up until now I've been doing really great. The past two days its just been a mess. Nothing seems to be going quite right.

I'm just not getting the right hit. I got 4 new attys, diff brands and things just seem to be very inconsistent hit wise. I'm dripping. I blew the attys out, cleaned the connections ect. What am I doing wrong. I get the burnt taste and getting very little throat hit.

Any suggestions?

Hi there Matta 89,
Say, could you give us a wee bit info. What brand and model are you vaping with? Are you using cartridges or cartomizers or just dripping in the new attys you bought? What mg do you vape (not necessary, I'm just nosey, LOL). Are you vaping the unit or do you have it on a passthrough?

Hi Matta, Really sorry you are having problems,,,,especially after three weeks.....My only suggestion(s) is if you did something different then what you were doing in the first,,,say two weeks? What I mean is,,,,different attys from a different dealer? Juice from a different dealer? Or even if your batteries are going bad...It is usually one of these three especially with the 510 that will cause you the problems you stated...I have a Ego, but my wife has an Joye 510....She loves it and I do to, but noticed with them that depending on where you buy them from,,,,the battery isn't powerfull enough,,,doesn't last as long,,,,,or simply is not good...
510 attys are cheap, so I just order them when I am down to 10 or 15 attys....
The juice I have found also matters ---- a lot.....I have bought some pretty bad stuff concerning juice,,,,so I now,,,I only buy from dealers that I trust...
Sorry for soooooo long a reply,,,but would hate for you to go back to those analogs...
Take Care,,,,and of course Enjoy the Adventure...

If you had just been using one atomizer for the last three weeks, I would say it really sounds like your atomizer needs a cleaning. But it sounds like you are saying that you have been using four different atomizers this whole time, and that this just started happening with all of them at once.

If that's the case, I'm pretty lost as to what's wrong.
But I guess it could be something weird going on with your battery.

Well, here's what you do. In the evening before you turn into bed, take your atty off your unit and remove your cartridge. Holding a tissue or paper towel under it, put the atty face down in the tissue, threads down. Blow, blow, blow until no residue deposits into the tissue. Turn it around the other way and repeat the blowing process. Then store it overnight on it's tread .... so any leftover can drain for the evening.

The next a.m. when you arise and shine, put that little puppy back together again and do a couple of dry burns of about 10 seconds each. Drip your juice in and vape away.

Since you're dripping, if you ever hear that gurggling sound, stop and blow your atty out before re-dripping.

Get back to us after you do that, and if that didn't work, we'll just start over troubleshooting again.

Not that I'm disagreeing with anyone above or below, but it sounds to me like your cart filler is shot.

The stock white poly fill hardens and doesn't wick right after awhile.

It can be cleaned and pulled apart, refluffed and used again. Me, I'd chuck it and blue foam. (Rinse the blue foam in something as close to Everclear 190 as possible and let dry for best taste.)

And, it is possible that your wicks are burnt, but that seems unlikely with that many attys over such a short time unless you're a very dry dripper.

Hey everyone,

Before now i had 2 diff atty I rotated on. I blew them out a few times a day. this weekend I got attys that are a few diff brands. Maybe they are just breaking in?

I don't use any filler, since I mainly drip. -shrugs-. I have a feeling this too shall pass, like the other problems. Just frustrated and a bit nicotine deprived.

I'm going ahead and cleaning all my atty's tonight, we'll see if that makes them behave a lil better!

I've had two really rough weeks, out of six weeks of vaping, so far. The first week, when, if not for folks here, I'd have thrown my 510 out the window, and then at about three weeks, when it just all seemed to turn sour. Nothing worked right, if it wasn't one thing it was another, nic cravings were driving me up the wall, and I ALMOST went back to the cancer sticks.

Came here first, thankfully, and got the support i needed to ride it out. Went nuts for a few days, frantically doing cart mods like a madwoman, ordering juices, changing nic levels etc, till that phase finally passed by.

Pretty smooth sailing since, except that I think I've been bitten by the "mod-bug" and the idea of 5V vaping!

Good luck..try all the good suggestions, and ride it out if you can!

I would frequently have the same problem. I would just get disgusted and pitch the atomizer and cartridge and start over with a new one. If you can try that, do. If it fixes the problem you know it wasn't the battery. When I would eventually do that after being frustrated, and get the resultant NICE hit I was looking for, I'd say, "Dang, why did I wait so long to do that???" Duh!

I will tell you this, however:

Since I have gone back to the 510, I'm switched to using a Riva battery and "cartomizers" - which as you probably know already have a built in atomizer. Life has been so much better. The battery lasts all day and part of the next. The cartomizer is a snap to refill over and over. I was so DONE with adjusting the fricking filling up and down and trying different stuffings. Switching has made going out the door a snap too -- hardly anything to take with.

Hang in there and don't stop trying to figure out what's up. Consider a cartomizer (but be warned they won't work with regular-sized 510 batteries; they need a bigger battery like an Ego or a Riva. Keep up your quest!

I'm using cartomizers with a regular-sized 510 battery. I've only been vaping a week and just got these cartos a few days ago. Why do you say you can't use them with the normal battery? Now I'm wondering if I'm doing this wrong!

You can use regular cartomizers with the standard 510 battery. You just can't use (LR) Low Resistance attys or LR cartomizers.

Gah!! Thanks for clarifying that! So sorry for the confusion I might have caused. Quite correct - cartomizers are great on a regular battery, just not the super-duper low resistance ones.. There's so many choices out there!
