Nah, I'm having titanium posts inserted and bone shaving/evening, as well as removal of an infected post and digging out bad bone, as well as taking out an upper post that went up into my sinus, and possibly another that's exposed. I will have an entire row of stitches in the top of my mouth and the bottom, all the way around. Sigh.

It's not the vaping that's the problem, it's the suction. I am not taking *any* chances this time, and I've already practiced vaping through my nose. :) Though, my gum health was markedly better when I went to my last post-surgery checkup, that's why periodontist is doing it, and I'll have the patch if my nose gets irritated/I need more nic. I plan to put my dentures in 0 times for the first week, because I think that's how one of them went bad (rubbing) so I've also laid in a bunch of ensure/soup.

At least it's not going to be like the time I got all my teeth out (there were 24 of them). :) Post surgery on that was... Well, it's kind of like childbirth, you forget how much it hurts. I did f/u with my doc the day after (the periodontist begged me to) and he took a look at my pumpkin head all wrapped in a bunch of freeze-packs and he said, "Um... I could prescribe you some percocet if you *want* but nothing's going to fix that really, I'm sorry," LOL. I turned him down and kept taking advil. I'm.... a bit of a veteran of Tooth surgery like in the old days (though thank goodness for novacane and advil).

I just have to celebrate for a second! I never in a million years would have imagined being here at this amount of time, and it's amazing! I couldn't have done it without the support and help on the forum so I wanted to say Thank You ALL for being so welcoming, friendly, helpful, and knowlegeable! I am SO grateful!

For newcomers, if you follow the advice of really seasoned members on the forum, you will find yourself succeeding! I would have failed the first day if I hadn't gone... Hmm... something isn't working... And found this forum. I am truly grateful and can't even believe this day came! I already feel insanely better healthwise and yesterday I was busily talking to my favorite brother on the phone, and telling him how great I felt, how fantastic it was, and how I could SING again! He's a musician, I was for awhile, but I do like to sing and am enjoying the guitar more than the violin... In fact, he and I agreed to resume guitar lessons via skype, so I'm really excited :)

Monday will be a big test, oral surgery was moved to then. It's really... ominous when the receptionist calls and says, "So, the periodontist has reviewed your records and decided we need more than 2 hours, can we move you to Monday?" Yikes (I'm doing it awake). Maybe he'll let me vape through my nose, halfway through, LOL, though I doubt it. I'm all prepared though, I got nicotine patches, a ton of advil, and I plan to just.... Pass out a lot, afterward. And, vape Nose to Lung. :)

But YAY and THANK YOU, ECF! You guys are the best. Really. Thank you.

Anna

..you forget how much it hurts.
You know the best cure for a headache is to whack your big toe with a hammer. Then you won't think a thing about the headache.. :censored:

Congrats Anna! Your training wheels are officially off and the bike is going down hill fast![emoji106]
Don't sweat the surgery. They put me under for mine(my wisdoms grew in at an angle and crushed everything foward).
You'll pull through like a champ and I'll let you know of the biggest sale you won't be able to pass up![emoji16]

About two months after I started vaping, I went to see a new doctor. He was the type to mutter to himself. After he listened to my lungs, he muttered "non-smoker, good good" and I almost jumped to the moon. I'd been smoking for almost 20 years at that point. That's only 30 more days for you! Keep it up, you're on the right path. :)

Yes... the surgery... yes it does. Having done just the top (once) and the bottom (once), I'm not loving this idea in the SLIGHTEST. That said, I can't thank my periodontist enough for wanting it to turn out right (adding denture implants stabilizes bone and stops it from degrading-- when hooked up to the dentures (oh, I cannot wait for that day), they function like a root of a tooth when you chew, which is why they're useful (and, insanely expensive). But, I've had dentures going on 10 years already and while I don't regret it once (the one drug that stabilizes my suicidal psychosis is a salt and my teeth did not react well... I could LITERALLY and ACTUALLY see cavities forming....glad I decided the health of my life was worth 24 teeth) I've probably spent several thousands of dollars on denture adhesive and I can't even tell you how much I hate the taste/etc., so I'm trying to look upon it as an exciting adventure to improve my life! Trying. Gotta respect my periodontist though for realizing I'm 43 and now a non-smoker, so wanting to do it right. Sigh. He already gave me a fairly large discount as I had no dental insurance, so the best I can do is bring in a bunch of gift cards for the office to thank them. There is no way to properly thank them, actually, they've been incredible and I've run into other periodontists that were not so INCREDIBLE.

The only fun thing about being awake is listening to my periodentist mutter to himself and his assistant(s). Other than that I just try to zone out/relax/go to another plane of existence.... And do what I'm told which is usually "Open your mouth wider," I have a small mouth and usually walk out of there looking like someone who's had way too much silicone injected into their lips.

Thanks all you guys for all the congratulations! My husband finally resumed normal smoking, not rollies, thank goodness, so I will have to ask him to hide all the tobacco.... I can feel my anxiety RISING, but I don't want to smoke. That would probably be the WORST thing I could possibly do.... Sigh.

I'd love to go biking the day after, LOL, but that will NOT be happening, I don't think :)

Oh.. I think I've been markedly quiet of late. Still dealing with this stupid surgery, and I am well and truly sick of it. Been doing great with the nose smoking only (according to husband) I came home and tried to chainsmoke. I have no memory of doing so whatsoever but it certainly sounds like me... Other than that one time which I'm not sure was even true (though, it sounds like me, and why would husband lie?) I'm doing okay....

Nose smoking sucks but I only have to do this for one week. I pretty much have no recollection of the first day at all, other than some hazy issues with icepacks....

I should reset my clock but I'm too fried to do it. I think I'm also allergic to Ensure Plus, but I could be wrong....

Seriously happy I got that 0.7 coil in my tank. I can nose vape with some POWER!!!! Heh. Not really. But before that it was on a 1.8 coil and really.... kinda hard to vape. Like, I barely emptied a tank in 3 days.... To be fair, until this MORNING, coincidentally the first morning I BATHED, (keep in mind that's like, 3 days) was the first morning I could be excited by much, including nasal vaping. Heh. I'm feeling quite perkier and may actually achieve some interaction with the outside world, by phone. :) But the fat lady doesn't sing until Monday.... So.... We'll see what Happens.

Though, all that suction stuff is more for the first 3 days, tomorrow I *may* vape normally. I have missed that, in fact.
