hi breaktru !
just wondering what is the max voltage on the input ?
with the same resistance value used?will it handle 4 ni mh cells fully charged lets say 5 v ?
did you ever play with ather voltage?
tnx rolf

The PTN04050c boost input voltage is 2.95 V to 5.5 V so 5v will work. Never used NiMh's
Has nothing to do with the resistors.
Did I ever play with another voltage ? not sure what you mean.

The PTN04050c is a boost module and is perfect for single cell use (3.7v). It's ideal for making small mods.
If you are using 4 cells which would be a larger footprint, then why not go with a Step-up regulator and NOT use a boost module.
The OKR, PTN08060w or the PTN08100w would be a better choice in my opinion.
The input voltage for the step-ups are 4.5v to 14v

update:
(4) NiMh's in series are 4.8v so as they deplete, you may not be able to power the above step-ups.
An LDO06C may be the solution w/ an input of 3v to 13.8v. I have used it and is on par with the other step-ups.

tnx breaktrue !
what i thout was with a higher input coltage in your circut that the output range would olso change with the present resistors you are using in your circut.
always used 4 ni mh cells in serries ....just streight with no regulation which goas down gradualy in voltage .
i like to vape at about 5 v which is fine when fully charged but it would be nice to have a regulator to ceep it more even.and use an atty to match to a slitly lower voltage. i am using your circut with an 18650 4000 ma el cheepo ...not convinced that they are the greatest quality.
most my experiance in electronics is hamradio mostly amplifiers and tubes ...so this small stuff is all facinating to me
thanks for all the help

If the V1 can take a 18mm diameter battery such as the 18650, 18500, 18490, 18350 than yes it will fit.

Breaktru, your .44 Mini Booster mod is truly remarkable. It is extremely small, naturally fits comfortably in hand, powerful 3.7-6v and surprisingly long battery life.

I've own it for little less than a month but in that short time it quickly became my favorite mod by far... I can't come-up with a reason to lug around larger heavier mods.

The first thing that surprised me was how incredibly small & light the .44 is! Of equal surprise, if not more, was how long the battery lasts at 4v's under moderate use (5-7hrs). If you need more, simply carry a back-up batt which is so light/small (AA size) that you truly forget you have it with you.

I enjoy relatively long draws from DCT's at about 4v + and just couldn't see such small AA sized 14500 batt lasting even an hour... also assumed that even if this mini vv mod could produce the power for the dual coils that it would overheat quickly or burn out the Mod... my assumptions were thankfully wrong.

Picked up my vmax today and just shook my head & placed it back in the case with my other large mods... never will I carry such a heavy lead pipe again.

Thank you Breaktru, your .44 mini Booster Mod is one of the best.

Nice looking mod Breaktru, I really like the 44 mag. I've got quite a collection of guns myself and as they say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and I just may give it a try. I've got a nice 35 Rem guide gun which I'm really fond of and I think a mod with the rim as a button and maybe the casing enclosing the atty might look cool.

How did ya make out w/ your mod Ron?
