What about using a static resistance between ADJ and GND, and trimming between Vout and ADJ?

I have been contacted by two other members about a Single 14500 Ultrafire, 900mah, 3.6v not working with the 04050c. They switched to the Trustfire 900mah, 3.7v and it worked fine.
Has any one else had a similar problem with the 14500 Ultrafires. Sounds like the same experience that Chris had.
I tried it with an UltraFire 18350, 1200mah marked as 3.7v not 3.6v and it works good.
I have both 14500 battery brands and my Ultrafires are ~1mm shorter than their Trustfire counterparts. The positive tab on the Ultras are also wider than the Trusts. Maybe these small differences are the cause?

Ah, never mind; I should have read all the posts. It looks like it all boils down to the differences in the protection circuits used by each battery brand... yup.
I will add that when I used to use my Trustfires, there was a definite cutoff where it would vape fine but then just stop working (led on mod would flash kinda crazy-like) and my Ultrafires will work for a while longer, but with greatly reduced vapor and then cut off abruptly with NO led light.

im using a mosfet with a ego pcb , li-ion charger to use it as a pass..
the ego circuit give me a lot of funtions like 12 sec cut-off and a 2.5A proteccion if i use a LR (1.5) atty i can only use to 4.2 ohms , if i use a 3ohms atty i can use it until 5v and for a 4ohms or more 6v
edit : and btw my battery is ultrafire and im using the caz booster

I'm using UltraFire 14500 in my 4050's and having no problems.Also using Boge 2 ohm cartos.
And that's the two things I said wouldn't work. Amazing. Glad you had success with it Boomer.

They are the gray ones mad vapes carries.I have built four of these now and the last two have aluminum type caps I think those are working better than the tantalum type but that could just be me.
I tend to think the Larger Aluminum work better too. The last several have the aluminum's.
I used aluminum in mine and had problems with the gray Ultrafires.
Thanks oldblue, I wasn't sure which Ultrafires the complaints were with. Was it with a particular atty resistances?
Fyi for people who want to try the button mod of this and you don't have access to a real bullet, you can use those bullet keychains. Most have them are already punched out in the center already. Awailable at a lot of dollar trees

A little update. My wife, who vapes very moderately, has been having her Trustfires kick out lately after about 2 months of using them. She uses a repairable ce2 in a tank at 2.4 ohms and 4.7v. Just too much amp draw on these little batteries? Never any problems with AW IMRs.
I have my Trustfires (Black & Reds) for nine months in the boost mod and they are still going strong. Maybe not as long as the initial 7 1/2 hours but still pretty good. Recently picked up an AW IMR which I now alternate every other charge with.
I found the blue Ultrafires at Madvapes about a year and a half ago. They perform okay but battery life isn't that good for the 04050c.
