I'm liking the stingray x in hybrid mode with the 454. Hits harder than on my 4nine.
Purdy!!!!!

So when I first got this amazing atty my intuition told me that the best way to build it would be with vertical coils. So much for my intuition! The vertical coil build was actually excellent and I thought that the 454 was the best RDA on the market for the price. Today i thought I would try to turn things around (literally) and build quad horizontal coils and oh geez it even go better!!! Used 7 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal that came out to .26 ohms. I'm going to put the Magma aside for a while and rotate the 454, Plume Veil and Veritas with a lot of emphasis on the 454! Here's the build with Rayon. I'm no master coil builder so for those of you who are the vape might be even better!!

Nice!! I have yet to do a horizontal build on mine but the next build will be the one. Looks like it will be easier to get a bit more wicking material under the coils with the horizontal. My coils last me a couple weeks after rewicking and dry burning with current juices I'm using. I have some peachango coming from killer liquid and that should be right about the time for re-coiling. It's going to be fun!!!!!

If your into baked goods, try grandmas cinnamon danish from nicoticket. INSANE FLAVOR on the 454!!!!!!

You are correct more wicking and easier to get it wicked too. I haven't tried Grandma's Cinnamon Danish yet but I love most all of Nicoticket's desert flavors. I'll include it in my next order!! Thanks for the tip.

what a great match!

Beautiful!!!

The fins on the atty blend great!!! There's nothing on the 454 that doesn't scream quality IMO.

I was hesitant to try another drip tip for fear that I would get some serious spit back. I run anywhere from 0.6 ohms coils on it down to 0.12 coil builds and went ahead and tried some of my wide bore tips with no spit back at all. A nice stainless brass tip would look exceptional on that mod!!!

It's a tad tricky to build on, but I really love the concept. I had a mild dual 24g coil build at .12 tossed on the Hades, no tip. I got no splatter at all, the flavor was good, vapor production was fantastic for just a dual.

Edit:
I was disappointed to see that it was in fact, a small atty and not a 26650. This will be a BEAST as a fatty atty..

Easiest way to build for me is to measure up the leads for the positive post and cut much shorter than the negatives. That way, when you thread them through the center post you don't have the long leads in the way when you group them before slightly snugging the center post screw.

Careful at 0.12ohms. It will stress even vtc5s.

As long as you take around 5 sec pulls you can go super low, around .07 .08 because vtcs are 60 amp burst. you'll be fine but with .12 your only at 35 amps and that's fully charged, so when you take a hit the voltage will probably drop to around 3.7 or lower so your not ever going over the 30amp continuous limit. I've seen people pull close to 80amps outta a vtc5 but if you take a hit longer than 2 secs your battery will discharge lol .12 is perfectly safe, just do your math and know your batteries

Not bad, but your wick could be better, checks out iteo wicking method, also, especially with 28g you do not need to stuff the cotton under the coil, you need to keep the area under the coil open for airflow. Just keep the ends long enough to touch the base, too much cotton around the coil can be a problem too much on the base just makes for a leaking rda. That's just my opinion but try it out.
