My dogs had a very, very hard time when I started
vaping, to the point that one would hide my battery and the other would bark like a fool when I would pick it up. They made it very clear they did not like t and I could not figure out why at first.
Like you I quickly came to realize that i used to go out many times a day (more often then they had to) with the analogs and they got lost of good yard time with 'mommy' there watching and telling them to run about and so on. Suddenly I did not have to go out or sit on the porch and although they could go out anytime they asked they apparently missed having me outside.
Don't tell me dogs are not puzzle solvers cause it did not take them long to figure out that my husband went out in the evenings/weekends and they had his attention but 'mommy' was doing something else.
That was when the batteries started disappearing along with the wall chargers only to be located in their favorite hiding place under the bed, And the barking at me was crazy - these are not small dogs and loud when they want to be. They were pretty obviously tryingto drive me away from vaping which was something I could do without them.
So now I go outside to vape almost as often, not because I have to but because they make me if I want to keep vaping. After returning to the accompanied outdoor time the batteries did finally stop walking off on puppy feet and I stopped worrying that dog drool would short one out.
My cats had a different reaction - they hated analog smoke and would run back in the house when we went outside to smoke. Once I started vaping they started acting like I was doing noting that they could detect. When that happened I pretty much did not have to read about whether it was a much better alternative.
The only non-adjuster in this family is my husband. I have given up trying to convince him that if I always smoked twice what he did and I could give up analogs in less then 4 days while 2 others smokers were in the home there is no reason why it would not work for him. He tried the convenience store brand, hated it because it did not feel like it replaced the analog for him and decided that one was much the same as the other. I am leery to push to hard in case that pushes him further away from eventually considering it again because it worked for me and more recently my mother (who was a 2 pack a day smoker since 15 and is 72 now. Tried 100 things to quit smoking and never made any headway no matter how long she would try - tried vaping and in a week no longer picked up an analog). I hate the smell he leaves behind - it does not make me want to go back - I just never realized how bad its stunk. Now I realize what others had to put up with - my poor animals ....
