I haven't see the medical reports that second hand vaping isn't harmful to those around me. Can someone point me to them please?

I cant find it right now but Ive seen study results Flavor Art did and nothing harmful was released when we exhaled the nic level was almost non existent when exhaling vapor.

I have the permission from the station inspector to use it. This other inspector was working on a one off in the station and opposed my vaping. Hopefully our paths won't cross that often in future. I played it down and avoided any argument as she is more likely to drop it and not try and make a corporate policy on it and get promotion off the back of it.

I guess that in that case playing it down is correct. You'll always find someone who has an issue and not every mini-battle needs to be won if you are already winning the war (permission from the station inspector).

There have been way more studies done on snus than on vaping. The Swedish people have a way lower cancer rate both oral and lung...than many other populations...from the reading and studies I have seen.

Yeah, it's terrible for oral health though.

Why should I have to hide when Im not doing anything wrong? Why should people catch an attitude when my vaping dose not affect them in a negative way.
Its a given Im doing something out of the norm

Same reason picking your nose affects some negatively when its not actually affecting their environment in a negative way. Some will shrug at the sight. Some think ewww but keep it to themselves while they form an opinion of you that will show up later. Some will get nauseous. And some will puke... and that one is probably going to complain to the powers that be which will affect aaaall their fellow employees. Look out... here comes the "no pickin noses" in the work place. I wish folks would be a little more considerate instead of wearing their vaping like a rebellious teen in a black T-shirt with a razor blade dangling from their ear. I told my kids that if they wanted to dress that way... fine... their choice but don't belly ache when people treat you in ways you don't want to be treated as a result. In a "civilized" society when personal "rights" clash, its the nut jobs who will win EVERY time. That's who we vapers are dealing with and we should NEVER forget that.

I'm allergic to some perfumes. They can actually make me sick at my stomach. Maybe I should ask the ladies wearing those perfumes to go outside! That would go over like a turd in the punch bowl wouldn't it?!

Edit: I get a headache from it too.

We even have a rule against that! No cologne, perfume, or strong smelling body wash/deodorant. Lol. If anyone complains about anything or if anything 'offends' 1 person it will not be allowed for anyone. It kills me because it's usually just 1 offender but everyone gets addressed. Hmmm. Government job.

It only takes one person to ruin it for everyone...learned that in basic training.

i would think more employers would be happy about using PV's because of this very reason. more employees not having to burn 5-10mins of paid time to burn one...good for the company!

think about it...even 5 cigs a day would be nearly an hour they paid you for and you did zero work.

at minimum wage for a FT employee that's easily 40$ a week your saving them.

2,080$ a year! for just one employee. show a company it saves them money and they will support it!
10 employees would be 20,800$ a year, no company is gonna balk at saving 20k a year. that pays for an entire employee making minimum wage for almost a year!

You would think. My employer busted my balls for going outside and vaping more than I used to smoke and no matter how much I tried to explain that it doesn't satisfy cravings the same way an analog did, he was too stupid to understand. Some people are just out there to create problems with whatever they can...it's a sad, sad world.

It really boils down to no matter what you do some where some place somebody is going to have a conflict with you. I can agree in a indoor environment the gentlemanly thing to do is go out side if someone takes issue. But when some one tells me I can not vape out side I will react in a confrontational and defiant way each and every time. I personally am not a door mat I will not allow other to force me into their controlling pigeon holes! Every thing is give and take but some will take take take if you allow then to.

Everything will be disgusting to somebody. What we need is not fear being ourselves because we might offend somebody as you suggest, but to have a society where the nut jobs can't win. Tolerance is a value that needs more airtime. I tolerate plenty every single day, and I wouldn't think of trying to legally or forcefully prevent those harmless but offensive actions. I think the only ones who need stopping are the intolerant control freaks.

i try not to vape inside and if i do i do it very stealthily (double inhale or blow the plumes into my sleeve or something though a lot of vapor can be tough to hide  ) I just think that vaping inside calls attention to us and gives us a bad name. I think we should all vape outside untill it is more widely known and then let the actual building you are in decide, untill then I will continue to vape outside unless im in my own home bc I definitely aggree that some juice (ie pluid, gandalf, boba's bounty) can be pretty offensive-smelling.

I had a coworker pull this a few weeks ago. She hates that I do it, even though its in my peraonal office to which the door is usually closed.

Well someone was burning a candle or something in the office and you could smell it. She started coughing as soon as she walked in that morning. She then knocks on my door and ask (loud enough for everyone else to hear) if I'm smoking in my office. I said no (as I had actually left it in my car and hasn't gone out to grab it yet). She then states that she is asthmatic and can't be around smoke. I then polietly informed her that it was water vapor and not smoke. I then informed her that I too was asthmatic and did not have close to the same hypochondriac issues that she did.

I work for a state agency and of course cannot smoke in the office. I vape in my cubicle with a fan blowing the vapor away. My supervisor has seen me vape and said she wouldnt say anything. I dont really know if they would make a policy about vaping or not. I only vape sweet smelling juice and hear people comment that "something smells really nice" all the time. When the wheather is nice I go outside and vape. I do keep it to a minimum for the most part.

LOL! Good joke, but if one is chemical sensitive, it can make one sick. I was in an industry where I had to visit vendors that produced soft PVC's, and another who produced rubber "O" rings. It's not just an offensive smell. it actually makes me sick. I can't be in the same room with a roll of scotch tape. Certain perfumes affect me the same way.

And I doubt you expect the world to stop using scotch tape right. To many people think the world revolves around them these days. Humility is a lost vertue. Ever look at people in a gastation line? You'd think it's the end of the world they have to wait 2 minutes.
You have my admiration flintlock having something like that and keeping a good attitude!

I use scotch tape, I just have to hold my breath when using it if it's a fresh roll. If it's an older roll, I guess whatever chemical is in it has leached out, and I can tolerate it. One day at work, a couple of my office friends (yahoo's) played a joke on me and hid a roll of Scotch tape under my desk. When I sat down, I smelled it and looked around to see them snickering.

What friends I have!
