Now watch that temptation Bob and don't come crying back to us.
I bet to get extra batteries you have to buy probably a complete unit first and if they charge $49 for one battery that's ridiculous as 51 website states the longer battery lasts longer than the shorter but L. T. say they both last the same.
Perhaps my batteries are supposed to be disposable like their cartridges which only last a day or two.
Anyway good luck Bob and drive safely.

Went to the mall today to check out the Smoke51 kiosk. An attractive young woman with a nice set of cores exposed by a scoop-neck sleeveless top greeted me. I introduced myself and my Janty Kissbox and she and I had a great conversation. Actually, she knew only a little about what she was selling. She bought her stock wholesale, owns the stuff on display, and plans to open kiosks in three more malls soon.

Yes, these are indeed rebranded LoongTotems. Given that I could buy them on the spot, her prices weren't out of line, since no "shippping" is involved. The starter kit is $107.76, with two batts, two cartridges and a battery charger. A five-pack of cartridges is $14.95. A long or short battery is $49.95.

I helped her introduce a young smoker to e-smoking. She had samples of all the flavors, and I liked regular, coffee and chocolate. The young smoker (she asked for ID to prove he was 18) tried a menthol. He kind of semi-sipped it. I told him to suck on it for four seconds, which he did. After he stopped, he barked a terrific cough and vapor went everywhere.

It was a "wow" moment.

He didn't buy right then, but vowed to be back with more friends (a girl and boy were with him and watching). He asked decent questions, the seller couldn't answer them, so I did. On health, liquid contents, life of items. I'm sure I could talk an hour about e-smoking.

This was my first test of a LoongTotem as it's supposed to work and the thing is super impressive. Massive vapor. Mild taste in the flavors I tried. $3-a-day habit for us former pack-a-day types. Tempting ...

carts do not last a day bob, definitely not. they last about 100 drags tops, then its burn-town central. open your carts up and you'll see why. the juice has all but vanished and the hot wire is now burning the filler. the vapour is actual smoke from the burning filler, which is still a little damp so its about half and half. also with the assortment of carts i got, it seems Mr loong is still tweaking the design, not sure if he wants to surround the wire with steel mesh, rope or nothing at all. batteries are ....! i pity anyone whose entry into the world of e-smoking chooses this. also dont know how you liked the coffee. i get no flavour from that one at all. with menthol and vanilla i can taste a tiny tiny piece but with coffee, not a thing, just the rubber from the cap. unless all i got was bum carts, but i have 50 so you would think i should have got one good one by now

I don't own one so I'm going by the very long thread on Naz's LoongTotem review, where Naz, Ned and Trog weigh in. Here's Naz's summary:

A cartridge will definately go a full day, although the nicotine certainly won't, but personaly, I do want to try to cut down on Nic & don't really mind the lack of nic too much- would be nice if the nic did last all day,

Naz was getting between 300 and 400 puffs from a cartridge. One cig equals 10 to 15 puffs. So a cart is at least 20 cigs a day. And if a cart lasts one day, I'm happy. Plus, I'd surely add the after-dinner pleasure of a disposable cigar.

Nicotine from e-smoking is NOT an issue with me, since I keep a snus in my mouth nearly all the time, plus use Stonewall dissolvable tobacco pieces, pipe tobacco four times a day, and nasal snuff periodically. I have enough nicotine in my blood to supply R. J. Reynolds for a month. I want the FEELING of smoking a cigarette. Nicotine, I can take care of. And I'd give up only nasal snuff if someone aimed a gun at me. Snus, Stonewall and a good pipe smoke are to die for.

Yes these new flavoured cartridges do go down with that burning taste halfway through the day. But the first batch of plain tobacco flavour stay all right.
But as I have said before the first generation have a blue wire going through the middle and the new flavoured cartridges have a red wire also there's more filler on the new cartridges so whether this has anything to do with this taste that starts to appear.
But I also received a bill from T N. T. for $60 yesterday for customs tax which I ain't too happy about so this will be one to watch in the future to.
And these cartridges have faults to some have easy draw and some don't

i read those too, but from my experience, the carts definitely dont last me a whole day, i might go through 5 just to find one that half works. it could be though that he gave me last year's trash. but i think really, that these hold about as much or less that a super-mini cartridge, you can continue to smoke them only if you can put up with the burnt taste which could also be very deadly. still though, with some kind of modification, the design could work. i've not given up on these and plan to experiment.

I'm certainly not going to rush out and buy one after reading your and Ned's experiences. But I note that LoongTotem will ship 24mg cartridges if requested, so that shoots Trog's "not enough nicotine" argument all to pieces. My old cigs are about 1mg each, so 20 a day would be 20mg. A cart of 24mg a day would suit me fine.

First, though, we must have reliability and repeatabilty with these products. Same vapor, same effort, every time. Apparently, these are not at that point yet.

But that day will come, sooner than we think. Then, I buy.

Well then you definately have somethign wrong there DC- I haven't had one yet that didn't work, and certainly get more than 100 puffs from them- not sure what's up with your lot there

im half wondering if these are designed primarily for the us current system. even though the charger says 110/240 it could be the case as both my batts and ned's are craptastic. but you seem to do a little better. half of my carts are labeled extra-high, but there is no difference. i would be craving a smoke if i didnt have a back-up.

out of 4 batteries, I only got one that is crap- won't work hardly at all- (And I broke another perfectly good one experimenting) the led just blinks like mad- very quick blinking, like htere's a short or somethign and it runs down very quick- like after only 3 ciggs worth of vaping.

IF Loong were to keep their current prices of the 'sale', then it wouldn't be too too bad at $140 total (including shipping) for 2 chargers, 20 cartridges, and two batteries every other month or so, but I think what we gotta do is definately find another battery to fit these devices. Loong's 'superior battery technology' is pure crap- plain and simple- Even though I got 3 good ones, the majority seem to be crap, and it's just too expensive to keep buying not knowing if you're goign to get a good one or a dog.

We gotta find someone with a lot of different types/manufacturers of batteries and send them a cartridge to see if there are any that would fit-

My daughter phoned to say there was a kiosk near the entrance to Sarasota Square Mall today with "51" on it. A woman was calling over people to explain the new electronic cigarette!

Daughter told the woman that her dad had been using one for a long time now.

These -- 51 -- are our Vegas friends who rebrand GreenCig models. But this is the first I've heard of e-cigs being sold openly in a shopping mall. Anyone else seeing this in other parts of the country?

At the Grapevine Mills Mall (Dallas suburb) there is a Smoking Everywhere kiosk. I haven't checked it out personally but the local news did a segment on it. I know their internet prices are outrageous so I have no plans on wasting money with them.

They are selling them at the Mall's out here in California at least 4 Malls that I know of so far. It's a brand called "Smokers Freedom" it's what actually got me interested in this whole thing.

It's $150 for the starter kit. (Comes in a pretty box though!) The carts are $25 a piece for a pack of 10. They also come in various flavours. It was the busiest stand at the Mall. (Should have seen the looks I was getting when I was smoking!)
