ok. i don't want to seem petty or anything because i don't think for a noob i could have chosen a better starter ecig then the 510. but, it's been a few weeks and now that i'm familiar with its limitations i'd like to share with you fine people what it is that i think

everything about the 510 is incredible, and by that i mean that its limitations are pretty incredible as well. when buying the 510 you get a yin-yang sorta thing, and to me they sum up why i get disappointed with using this style of ecig (i really want to move away from saying ecig).

first, i love the vapor production. but once the battery begins to wear the amount of vapor decreases.

second, i love the throat hit. ditto on the battery statement above.

so far, i've lucked on the atty's. not a problem.

i don't mind the amount of ejuice burnt up because i am a heavy hitter.

thus, my biggest, and probably only, gripe about the 510 is the battery. because of its limitations i'm not going to get the consistency i require to be totally off analogs. realizing i have to buy more batteries, atty's and a passthrough, i also don't want to get too involved in harvesting parts when that money could be spent on stockpiling eliquid (36 mg).

so i know i've got to move up to one of the more powerful models that use batteries holding a charge far longer. i also will most likely buy an iolite because of their versatility (very important if there are dark days ahead).

lastly, i'm not attracted to the kensington power pack because the whole set up seems to begin to take over. i'm not in this to serve my addiction as if its a space-age fashion statement or looks like i'm strapping on the cathater from hell.

i love my 510, and i love ecigs in general, i just hate their limitations (not to mention what the feds are trying to do8-o) thanks.

Hello dperino:

Great review, sums it up pretty good. Seems as though you are a fast learner. Yes, the 510 has it's power/battery limitations. Most heavy vapers want to move up after trying the tube types. You, at least started with the top hitter of the tube types to get a good feel of what they are like.

If you are anything like me you will still find it a good, more discrete choice at a special occasion or fancy gathering. The PCC charging case might be a good accessory to have too if you decide to keep it for a back up.

Let us know what you decide to move up to and how you like it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Best of luck to you.

thanks to the both of you. i guess they're actually mini-gripes. but yeah, happily, i pretty much know when the battery's going because of the decrease in vapor. i know this can't be related to how much juice is in the cart because it happens after a refill or topping off. agnes, you're right about the pcc. but that's where it stops with my use of the 510, i won't go the kensington route.

i keep returning here and learn from all of you that have been in the vaping trenches far longer. i appreciate all of the experience shared freely. the mod forums are awesome and the efforts as they try to come up with better product(s) inspires. thanks for the responses.

That's odd that you get decreased vapor when battery winds down. So far all mine fire the same until the last 1 maybe 2 puffs and then..........done

Me too. I've been vaping for 14 days on my 510 and both my batteries and atty's are operating perfectly. There is no slowing down of vapor production for me, just instant dead battery.

I'm just now starting to taste and smell a little bit. I'm anxious to try a flavor in another week or so.

Maybe this can help you,

TITAN Mega Power 280 mAH. / Totally Wicked e-Liquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop

New bigger battery for the 510 TW is due to have them in stock, if I remember right he will have two versions one that will still fit in the PCC and an even bigger one that wont.

With my 510 I use a PCC as soon as I have finished vaping I just pop it in there, its full ready to go again when I need it. My PCC's charge will last me all day then I just put it on charge when I get home.

Its exactly how it goes for me with all my 510.. great vapor then.. boom! blinking blue led!

I have at 8 or 9 batteries in rotation, some die suddenly and others just get weak. Some last 2 hrs and others 30 minutes. Weird. Looking forward to trying the new improved batteries.....

Hey, thanks for the update! I'm glad they are finally addressing the 510 battery life. I have created a "nicostick" with help from the battery mod forum. I have a 900ma battery in the box and get about 6 hours of run time. It really makes my 510 a super performer.
