The eGo is nothing more than a bigger battery for the 510 atomizer.

Basically, if you're really, really stuck on the idea of something small and cig-like, get a 510, with the understanding that the battery life isn't great.

But, if you can get over the size issue, there is no reason not to get an eGo. The battery lasts most people 6-12 hours.

Think of the eGo as a 510 on steroids.

Exactly right - eGo is 510 with better battery life. They use the same atty.
An eGo isnt very big about the size of an AA battery (on its own) and the basic 510 is the size of a pen (with atty attched).
I have BOTH - the basic 510 is now retired and I never use it (but Im keeping it in case of emergencies lol).
If you are really unsure then get a basic 510 to give PV a 'test drive' (if you are new to using PV) but the battery life does suck (I could get maybe half hour on mine before it needed recharging, although I used it a lot) and switching out batteries twice an hour for recharge gets old real fast (I had 4 basic 510 at one point to keep up with my usage and not run out of batteries lol).

I think a lot of people buy the 510 thinking that it's cheaper so if e-cigs don't work for them they aren't out too much money. But almost ALL of them end up upgrading to something with more battery life very soon after trying the 510 (it took me 4 days...I wish I'd just started with the eGo instead).

It seems like the eGo is $20 more than the 510, but it's really not if you end up buying both like most people do.

yup pretty much... they are the same thing except for the battery. If you understand how an e cig brakes down this will make more sense to you. The carts are the same, the atties are the same and the batteries are interchangeable. The only reason they even look differant is two fold. One because the battery on the ego is mainly bigger around, second is because on the ego they add a cone to make everything kinda flow and look nicer. With out the cone you can really see how similiar they really are. From what I understand.... the only thing that really sets the "joye" it the atty. I hear that they are as good as they get but its all I've ever owned so I really dont know. Oh and joye is the brand that makes ego and the 510.

Yup. All 510 atomizers and cartomizers work on an eGo battery.

I got a 510 and 2 weeks later I ordered the eGo. I travel a lot and the battery life difference is amazing. I can go all day on one battery. If I had to do it over again I would have just spent the extra and started with the eGo.
But it worked out OK My wife is now using my 510, I converted her over from the dark side!

Aside from battery life, you can experience lr attys as well.

I was going to mention this also. As you get into vaping using a LR(low resistance) atty will allow you to simulate higher voltage vaping, it is supposed to be sort of like a 5V vape. The standard 510 batteries cannot power the LR atty but the eGo ones can.
