Because provari is the standard.

I read this on the Internet, so it HAS to be true. :p
___

Truth be told, the eGo battery and the variable voltage versions of the eGo are probably the most popular thread world wide. More people start out using the cigalikes than any other device, and most of those people advance to an eGo battery of some sort. The eGo batteries are also quickly becoming the first beginning device as new vapors listen to experienced vapors for their recommendation. Or they come here to ECF first before making a purchase, and again experienced vapors suggest an eGo setup.

Mods make up a very small percentage of the world's vaping devices, despite their seeming popularity on vaping message boards. Vaping message boards tend to attract enthusiasts and hobbysts who are more likely to use "advanced" models, which makes them to seem more like the majority, when in fact they are the minority. The vast majority of vapors do not visit message boards.

I totally agree with this.

Almost every friend of mine has either started with an eGo, or still uses one because they don't feel the need to upgrade.

An eGo battery with a properly built tank/atty is a really solid setup.

I "almost" started with an ego twist kit or a lava tube. I am glad I got a provari mini. I am sure I will eventually get a caravela mod just to have one.

I don't hate the provari. It's a good mod. Provari users on the other hand, are something else. Kind of like apple users, but I think these days the truth has been a bit hard to deny.

have a look at the subforum activity. those mods have been around for years and still the vamo alone has generated more activity in less than a year of existence. price point is a HUGE deal and when you couple that with an advanced featureset (VW) ... the value proposition was irresistible. I think you gravely underestimate what market share the vamo grabbed when it came online. there's a reason the 33hz chip has proliferated so massively.

the lavatube has always been overpriced. i'm not sure the ego is a valid comparison here, i'm talking about regulated APVs specifically. the regular unregulated ego is really not an APV anymore.

The modern tank style clearomizer has not been a big trend until the vivi nova.

There is a reason the 33Hz chip has proliferated. It is simple and cheap. Vamo is an outstanding value at 30 bucks. It has a lot of new users, and is a great way to get into APV mods.

The ProVari is not about dominant market position, it is about being the best crafted mod available. By setting its price point over $150, there is no way a ProVari can have mass appeal or the number of new users the Vamo has.

The Vamo and the ProVari are not even competitors. The users on the other hand....
