Ok here is what I was talking about for a two strand wick:
Two strands at .075" diameter, using 34ga nichrome wrapped 7 times = 2.8ohms.
I will put this into a tank tonight and see how she does.

Be interesting to see what happens. I was thinking about that after you brought it up. With the .055 wick at 2.4Ω using VG, I'm getting good vape and using less juice - I suppose due to improved efficiency. Assuming you’ll get more juice to the coil, will it produce more vape, only vaporize the amount it could with one, or dump the access down the air tube? The latter seems unlikely, so I guess the juice would just sit in the wick and wait to get warmed up… thin juice might cause a problem though.

I think two wicks probably would help toward the end of the tank to balance out the slower feed from the bottom… but then a larger/fatter wick might do the same. There is definitely a relationship between the material and the shape - so right now we have a mesh straw. Don’t remember anyone mentioning it, but I wonder if anyone has tried to shape the bottom ends into a conical fan, or that cone flattened?

Shoot Dan… ya got me to thinkin’ again – would you stop doin’ that?! I’m supposed to be grading tests and here you are distractivaten’ me. Maybe I can settle for you not having so many good ideas… mercy – you are one head full of creations! I’m going to try to get my work done so I can try out some stuff tonight – keep us posted on what happens with the dual core.

Later, Teach

Good question... LOL I was walking through Lowes and found some soft rubber cup looking inserts. There were two in the package with two small o-rings. Tested them on the 25mm bottles I had and they were a tight fit. So I picked them up and found them a couple days ago, and was like oh yeah forgot about those. I used a sharpened atty to cut the hole all the way through. Which the existing cup was the size of an atty. But they were soft, so I used a tad bit of super glue around the atty flange (not on the walls of the atty connector) and it sealed it tight (melted the rubber to the atty). So the other end is just flipped with an old 510 connector to cover the silicon cap.
I will see if I can find the part number, I have been using them for two days and no rubber taste, so I do not know if they are vinyl or rubber. I must say I have not experienced any E1 or E2 errors on my provari with this set up and it seems to wick ALOT better. I am much more please with the dual wick set up!

Ahhhhh I found them, they are called diaphragm washers:
Diaphragm Washers # SF0152 by PlumbShop

Well hope this helps...
Dan

ADDED:
Tip for making easy accurate J hooks, use a pair of TWEEZERS!
They work great, like plucking a hair but your bending it 180 degrees... LOL

Most excellent! Did you do a straight wrap on the two wicks or under/over in a figure 8? Did you use the same size roll as on the single?

I finally got down to fiddling with mine - tried a fat roll which seems to be working fine. Started with a .8" wide strip instead of the .5" then rolled it down to about a .065" - a snug fit and I was worried it would be too tight to wick, but no problem so far.

Had problems with my other too and short power leads. I think I should have left a bit more lead on the coil I wrapped - talk about flash in the pan - pretty sparks though. Gotta' remember to keep those leads away from the wick. When I did it again on a retrofit I figured that was enough for one night - may be able to salvage the second one though.

Straight wrap, so it looks like an oval from the side. Same size rolls .075
Hope that helps.

Ohhhhh your gonna hate me LOL

Can you say 4 wicks wrapped at 1mm thickness each.
I started out with a piece of SS 3/8" x 3.5" and wrapped it until it would not compress wrap anymore. I ended up with 4 that I will wrap as one with the nichrome. This way I will have 8 paths for juice to get to the coil :)

Holy cow.... way too cool! I was loving my 'fat' roll but blew my coil this morning... haven't had a chance to get back to it today, but I was surprized at how well it wicked.

Hows it working on the 4x4? Must be one heck of a traffic jam coming out of the cup!

I tried rebuilding attys and me and nichchrome wire dont mix AT ALL. Scuba your work is awesome........But I do think you should make me one, ya know??? I will give ya 2 dc-dc converter boards (like you need them, I know)???? But yea when I tried the wire is so skinny I couldnt even hold it and if I dropped it forget its gone so I gave up with that.

Uh... yeah LOL
One heck of a traffic jam!
Look at this, man vapes fantastically.
I used 34ga Nichrome and came out at 2.3ohms
Very nice.... We have dread locks!
Dan
Figuring on your roll size with 8 wraps would be a close to 2.5'' of coil - figuring that there's some compression. Those are packed mighty pretty! Now we need to figure a more convenient way to replace them.

Which of these is working the best for you Dan? 1 wick, 2, 4? The most important aspect of vaping to me is flavor. Does this deliver?

Well I would say a toss up between the 2 and 4, both seem to deliver more juice to the coil with out flooding or being too lean. The 4 seems to be performing a little better as far as consistancy. I do not have to "tilt" the PV to soak the SS wicks as much with the 4. But both are very consistant! The single I noticed I do not get as high of a resistance (good for LR users) and if you do not roll the SS single to a sufficient width it is prone to flooding issuses due to gaps between the cup and SS.
And YES it does deliver, excellent flavor!
Hope this helps.
Dan
