Alright folks, I believe I'm ready to get into the wonderful world of mods. I've read through many many maaany posts on the ECF forum about mods, but I'm not certain what mod would be right for me. So I was hoping you guys could help me out? Okay, here's what I already have:

  • eGo , eGo-T (LR and SR) A & B, Go-Go, and all the other fine accessories that go with them (carts, cartos, etc etc).
  • I like my eGo-T type B LR atties the best for their ease of use and the ability for me to change flavors quickly (I'm not a one day vape kinda gal).
  • I don't dig the muted flavor from the Ego-T when compared to dripping. For me it's like putting top shelf liquor into a blended, mixed drink...you can't taste it's originality anymore. I love dripping but it's not something I can all the time, like while driving. (Hmm...I can just envision a new bumper sticker saying "Don't Drip and Drive")

....now, here's what I'm looking for:

  • I'm looking for a substantially bigger flavor and vapor improvement. I don't want to void any warranties by adding/stacking batteries to get my mod to 5/6v (so I'd prefer something already capable of 5/6v, if that makes sense?).
  • Mind you, I am totally not mechanically inclined - mAh, ohm, and battery jargon makes my mind go blank (go figure...I freaking used to work for an energy/utility company).
  • Since I'm not good at tinkering I'll need something reliable, dependable, and if it breaks I can get it fixed/replaced for a nominal fee.
  • Comes preassembled, not DIY
  • I'll be vaping at my desk so in this case size doesn't matter...:p - but looks do....heh. No really, I spray painted my ego gold 'cause the black paint was chipping. It also has a matching drip tip from FSUSA.
  • Interchangeable with my eGo stuff (atties, cartos)
  • A device preferably under $100 and from an ecommerce website (not classifieds or by PM)

...Okay if it were over a hundred bucks - I've looked at the REO and I do like it, but from what I gathered you have to squeeze the e liquid bottle before you vape? Eh, seems like it'd be more of a hassle for me, but I'm not sure. Besides that my color of choice is Out of Stock.

I've looked at other box mods/bottom feeders...meh..don't want any voltage less than 5 if I'm paying for it. Also heard good reviews on the Silver Bullet from Altsmoke.....however I have no idea what the difference is between all the other stuff on their website like the Omega, BB, etc.

Well I think that about covers it all.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

GLV2 from GreatLakesVapor. Only $10 over budget :) In a class by themselves imo. I've bought about 20 mods and sold most in the classy section. A Silver Bullet (AltSmoke) is a nice, sturdy mod. 6v seems to be the burning point on a lot of my juices. That high of voltage takes the layering of the flavor away and mutes or burns it. 5v is a sweet spot, nice and powerful but not over the top. Good luck on your quest and have fun! :)

There are a lot of voltages between 3.7 and 6 volts. Why limit yourself to a static voltage when you can pick the EXACT voltage that works for you based on the atty/carto and juice you use. For example I find some juices(actually most) taste great around 4.2-4.5 volts while others taste better 4.7-5volts. VV mods do cost more but are worth it imo.

Have a look at some of the variable voltage mods out there before you make your final choice.

the new buzz pro Notcigs Vape it like you stole it!!

I still say the Reo is the best PV you could ever purchase. Even on the mini, I only have to push the bottle every now & then. It fits in the palm of my hand, fits in my jeans pocket. it's just perfect. This is 3.7V though. You could put a LR 306 atty on it to get a bigger kick though.

Look into the Reo Grands. You only squeeze the bottle once for like 20 hits and is great when used with cartomizers. They are hands down the easiest PV to use, can safely be used at 3-5-6V. It's virtually indestructible and beautiful too.

I didn't know you don't always have to squeeze the bottle for a hit. That makes the REO look sweeter in my book. I've had my eye on one of the grands, but unfortunately it's never in stock and I don't know how long it will be before it becomes available.

Thanks for that information!

No the Reo is super easy, With cartomizers it's only an occasional squonk. The Battery life is very good too.
Just stop and check in on the Reo forum for the next Grand sale. There is even a thread on what and how to order. Believe me it's well worth the wait!

If you have an e-liquid that you enjoy vaping for hours at a stretch, a juice feeder mod like the Reo makes a lot of sense. Otherwise (i.e., for people like me who like to switch off frequently) I don't see the point.

If you can afford it – or don't mind cheap plastic boxes [e.g., from MadVapes (out of stock) or Ken's Boxmods] – variable voltage is great. Most (including that Buzz Pro with batts and charger) are ~$150+. [I've not read great things about those that are ~$110-125.] The one possible exception for an eGo owner like you is the $60 Ego Booster, which I recently reviewed (very positively).

Other than that Ego Booster (which I received for free as a beta tester), I've taken the route of inexpensive 3.7V mods with LR cartomizers. Specifically, the $25 14650 and $35 18650 NoEgo's, shown here next to the 650 mAh eGo on the right. [They don't include batts or charger, so add in about twenty-five bucks and get them from places like MadVapes or ElectronicStix.]

Save your pennies for a Darwin, get a 510-to-808 adapter, and load up on bulk empty cartos and you favorite juices.
Darwin battery lasts for a coupe of DAYS, is variable voltage (from 4.2 to 12.9), and with large cartos a couple should get you through a day at work.
Darwin uses built-in mini-USB to recharge, uses any USB-to-mini-USB cable, and can be used as a pass-through plugged into a USB hub or computer.
2-year warranty on device, 1-year on battery (battery replacement is $25).
Yes, it's expensive but the thing is built so well you could probably bash a zombie's head in with it when the great Zombie Apocalypse breaks out.

I recommend the maxi roughstack from madvapes, its reasonably priced, the switch assembly is very easy to replace if it goes out, and you can run it at 3.7, 5, 6, or 7.4 volts depending on which you prefer (I love mine at 6 volts with a 5 ohm atty) and if you want to avoid dripping and driving pick up one of their drip on demand devices.

I have to agree I'm basically a noob and just got my 1st Reo Grande a few weeks ago and absolutely love it super easy and I'm running 5v right now and loving my little vapor canon

I am in the same boat as you,so can only can tell you what looks interesting to me. By the way, I also have a go-go , a lea tank and a 5v pass-thru so I keep asking myself why do I need anything else. But curiosity strikes me I guess. Notcigs is going to have an aluminium body vv top feeder coming out in about 5wks price will be between 140-160. They are taking not committal pre-orders now. If dripping delivers the best flavor this may be the way to go. I am also considering a darwin, monkeyboxx vv,vaprlife.com and this one looks interesting -Introducing Sgt VV (Army Tank) - Variable Volt Bottom Feeder. Don't know if that helps or still muddy's the waters. Oh almost forgot one silent soldiers fistpack vv nice form factor there.

i say go with a Buzzpro form notcigs. its not much over your budget and you will have VV so you can vape at whatever voltage you like. its also really easy to use you just turn the dial until the voltage is where you like it. you dont even need to know what voltage you are at just adjust to taste. couldnt get any easier than that really.

its also really hard to go wrong with a REO Grand too.

if i could only chose 2 mods i would have a Buzzpro or the like (Provari) and a REO Grand. JMO

I'm sorry, but during the zombie apocalypse, I think the Reo is gonna stand up a lot longer than the darwin when beating zombies over the head.
