5V Solid Wood Mod Continued....

Here is a picture of the voltage regulator with all the additional components.



and here is everything crammed inside the wooden enclosure.



To keep things in place, and tidy them up a bit, I used hot glue to keep all but the feed wires in the hole.



The screws you see hold things together. I drilled a hole the diameter of the screw minus the threads. I started to 'tap' the hole using the machine screw and applied some CA (super glue) into the hole and let it set. I repeated until I thought things would hold

Here is the (not quite) completed project!



It vapes like a champ! but I still need to do sanding, fine sanding, and figure out if I want to use an oil or a varnish to protect the wood. That's my mod!

Nice!! Looks like you need some orthoscopic tools to set the bottom battery connector

Nice woodwork, reminds me of a Dugout. It must be a pleasure to hold. I see room in there for a spare hidden 3ml bottle, maybe just for dripping, maybe bottom feeding. How far down does that electronics hole go?

I didn't even think about that, good idea. The electronics hole only went down about an inch and a half. Just enough to get everything in there.

If I make another one I will have to do more planing. I like the solid wood look and feel, but it makes wiring and routing of tubes difficult.
