901 passthru not working with some usb car adapters

i have one adapter (5v, 700mah) that works fine with passthru.....but i just bought a couple of new ones off ebay (5v, 1000mah) that do not work....the usb light comes on, but no power to my passthru. i have heard that some car adapters work and some don't.

what is the difference?

Actually, I think you mean 700 mA and 1000 mA, i.e., milliamps not milliamp hours. And I am surprised that that 700 mA one worked for you.

The only car adapter that I recommend for a 5V PT is the 2 amp (i.e., 2000 mA) Car to USB Adapter, available from MadVapes for $9.50 (on sale for $7) and VaporKings for $20 (on sale for $10). It will work with any PT (or USB charger) out there.

I know that Hellen A Handbasket reported that her adapters didn't work in a certain type of truck - forget which model, but before trying anything else, try your adapter with passthrough in someone else's car to see if it works there.
