A bit annoyed: vaping indoors all of a sudden upset ONE coworker

Welp, my mom has Histoplasmosis from living in a small house full of mold in Arizona for much of her youth.... And I can't even tootle-poof into a damn sock behind her head without her nostrils flaring up & her turning around to yell "I told you not to blow that damn vapor toward me! It's making me choke! I can't BREATH! I can't BREATH! DO YOU WANT ME TO CHOKE?? Use those damn things in a separate room from me! I CAN'T BREATH! So I don't think everyone has the same tolerance to our vapor.

Heh, maybe not; I'd also think your mom ought to be checked for the dread Drama Queen virus.

I think the real problem is that these people just can't tolerate the sight of anyone enjoying something that they themselves don't use, wouldn't even want to use, so why should anyone else!?! It makes them so angry that they hold their breath like an angry child, so it's no dang wonder they can't breathe!

I am going to go out on a limb here. If 60+ years of living have taught me anything
it's the I can't breath crap is the oldest power trip line in the book.
People I know that have breathing issues use it to jerk people around when they're in the
mood to do so and turn around and do the exact thing they said causes them discomfort
with no apparent ill effect.

It was rhetorical because of the op thread but being born and breed in the south,to see that in a thread about someone venting about a coworker is uncalled for imo

But the point isn't about slavery (and perceptions of that) per se, and was about the idea that at one point it was seen as righteous, despite how grossly offensive it may be to anyone / majority.

Seeing exhaled vapor as smoke and then equating it to the perceived evil of SHS is very offensive to many vapers, given the stakes. People (who do equate the two) ought to be shown how wrong they are about this because telling them isn't doing the job, and most media isn't helping on this front. If anything media is perpetuating both the deception (offense) of the two being equal while not doing due diligence on the original offense that SHS is evil / harmful. Many (vapers) here will suggest that second ship has sailed, and thus are complacent to the counterarguments, on both pieces of gross propaganda, by our opposition.

No one at work knows that I vape, but I do it inside anyway. I'm able to vape on the sly (when no one is around or in the bathroom). But I work at a very small company, so it might not be as easy for you to get away with it. :/

That's what I did when I worked at Apple. I just slipped in to a supply closet and vaped or vaped in the bathroom.

Luckily at my current position, I'm the boss.

What's the worst that can come of vaping where smoking is not allowed? Sure, vaping could be explicitly prohibited in those areas - which is exactly what you advocate, anyway.

Personally, I think if vapers in general handled things differently beginning back in 2010 instead of the entitled/meme attitude that only grew over the years things would not be where they are now regarding the general population anti-attitudes towards vaping now in 2016.
The fact that now vaping is becoming considered a douche thing to do, and vapers viewed as douchebags, did not happen without causation.
