Hello all from a real newbee. I just picked up an eGo T, my first e-cig anything. (So be gentle.) I can vap for a while and then whoosh, almost all my juice is all over the atty, battery, and me. I wash off all the juice, blow clean the atty, reload the tank and go again. I'm trying to figure out why. Could it be because I inadvertently covered on or both of the vent slits where the atty and battery join? I'm at a loss, and have no other experience or anyone else to bounce this idea off of. Simply put, HELP! Since I quit "analogs" only 2 weeks ago, I can say after vap'ing, I can't see me going back. (4th times the charm, I hope......) And thanks to the information on this forum I will quit trying to replicate analogs as well. It's a braver new world to an old die-hard analoger of some 40 some years..... Thanks for any help or ideas!

Sounds to me like your cap on the tank is coming loose or coming off. Make sure the cap is pressed on tightly. I forgot to put my cap on after a refill once and .........oh I really don't want to talk about it.........me, the floor, the table, sucked up the juice into my mouth,,,,,,,,,nasty.

I can feel your "yuck"... I use a syringe to refill mine. But I can just imagine.

The tank itself seems fairly drip proof, but thanks for the tip. I make sure the tank is firmly seated on/in the atty before my first draw. The thing that's puzzling is the flooding is never consistent. It doesn't follow any pattern (i.e. after I lay it on it's side, re-insert the tank, standing up on the batter end, or tip down.)

Make sure you push the tank all the way in or
Maybe time for a fresh tank or
the wick in the atty too far in, allowing too much juice to flow so you might try a different atty and see it that works. Offshore quality control leaves a little to be desired so some attys are better/worse than others.
There are some utubes on wick mods.

I have a few ego tanks and have noticed that after I've used a tank for a week or so it starts to leak terribly. I think that the hole in the bottom of the tank where the wick enters gets enlarged over time from constantly taking the tank off and putting it back on; then the juice can drip down and leak out. Try a new tank insert and see if it leaks as well

BUT............

In my opinion, the ego tanks are great for holding a lot of juice and making good vapor but they really do a disservice to the flavor of your juice. If you're a newbie with a tank as your first e-cig....PLEASE buy a cartomizer for your Ego....you will notice a huge improvement in flavor and there is no leaking at all! You're not getting the full experience beginning with a tank. You could also start dripping on an atomizer but that gets messy and isn't very portable. I think many would agree with me.

ENJOY!

Here is yet another example of why more people should be supporting Janty.

Janty, the company who innovated and developed eGo bats and tank systems first (all others are clones/imitations), and has the best warranty in the business...

Janty tanks and attys will NEVER leak.

Janty might be more expensive; but you get what you pay for.

Just sayin.

edit..

don't start with cartos. The tank system was developed as the next evolutionary step... FORWORD, away from carts and cartos. Don't get me wrong, I love my cartos on a small kr8808d-1. But a "good" tank system is really nice.

Well I got my set-up from TheVaporpro.com, they said they were 1 of 3 "authorized" sellers of the Joye units. But how can you tell for sure. That said so far I've had good luck with them. (It was also before I had discovered this forum.) But I've replaced the tank and I'll see what happens. But damn that juice is sticky messy stuff.

I've also got the give a shout-out to Cignot (Vicki). Great C/S!!!!

As new vaper - you can't go wrong with Cignot. They really do have one of the best combinations of CS-product-value.
That said.. I would never recommend a tank for a first timer either. The lack of flavor is bad enough for someone with most of their taste buds back, a newbie just will miss out on the thrill of all the new flavors. It's hard to taste anything. Add to that the difficulties dealing with tempermental products... IMHO, I think there are better options (newer does not always equate to better)

There are several cartos that will fit your batteries, but the EASIEST would be the Boge 510 cartomizers. You can fill using the condom method (check you tube) and they don't leak.

Best of luck to you. And many congrats!!

Most of us use approximately 2-3 ml of liquid a day with some using slightly less and some using more, but the average is 2-3 ml a day for the majority of us. The type "A" tank hold 1.1 ml of juice, the type "B" holds about 2 ml of juice, the 510 tank hold about 0.5 ml and the 510 XL tank holds about 0.7 ml of liquid.

If you use a new tank be sure to pierce it before you fill it. I put mine on fully and then remove the tab created by pushing it on. When I fill them I give them a little twist while pushing them into place. I've only had one atty go bad and I kept it just to pierce new tanks. I've heard the tanks can on occasion push the wick down the tube a little and cause problems so I use these methods as a little extra protection. I really like the system. You can adjust the wick but I don't like fiddling with them.

Mickey, i'm about a 3 (1.5ml) a day and i was a pack a dayer too. I have had my tank for a month and half and have not had a problem with it leaking yet. Do you have the hard plastic caps or the rubbery caps?

jake
Mine feel like the hard plastic type. They feel like the stock tip that come with a new atty.

I'm a newbie too and my first device was the ego-t, I found the tanks work most of the time but they occassionally leak, especially when on the move, and that for me is unacceptable. I tried everything to stop it, even started filling the tanks with a syringe but still got the occassional leak. I switched to a 510 LR cartomizer and imo it is far superior in every way. It lasts all day easy, you can chuck it in your pocket without stressing it may leak, better flavour, better TH, and the vapor is warmer so its more like an analgoue, superior in fact...
