Hi again folks! just wondering if anyone else had this happen - got a cart that I was vaping on, was going ok, but I noticed that the more I vaped it, the harder the pull became... after a bit, it was like trying to suck a chunk of milkshake ice through a straw... took the cart off the PT and looked into it - can still see daylight through the air tube, but it's really tough to hit on... any ideas, or is this cart toast?

one other one also - what are the 'drip tips' actually FOR? I've looked around, and not seen too much info on them...

TIA!

hey there nitemist! The only time I've had a carto get a harder draw was when I needed to top it off -- I think using a passthrough really kind of cooks the juices faster. But hopefully some of the other v4l folks will chime in with more experiences.

And on the drip tips -- while they were originally for dripping directly on an atomizer like in a 510, I think most of us just use them to get a little farther away from warm carto. WOW carts especially get pretty hot...too hot for my lips, so I use a drip tip. It also makes it easier to top off the carto by just pulling off the drip tip instead of having to pull the mouthplug out.
i've also read that some folks believe using a drip tip gives you more flavor since the hole's bigger, but I'm not so sure about that one.....

Yes, it's happened to me but I haven't a clue why :p I *think* it was because the battery end of the cart needed some adjustment since it would work on a manual battery.

As for the drip tips...I like using them on WOW carts, seems to help with the "heat" they develop. It also makes filling a cart much easier...just pull off the drip tip rather than "hooking" the white disc and yanking it off :) I know you can "drip" juice directly with other batteries that have an atomizer...but don't think there's an atomizer that fits the V4L batts :)

In other words, I don't think I answered any of your questions :p But, I tried :)

@ jbmcdan I use my PT VERY heavily - I'm a courier, and spend a lot of time in my vehicle (the PT has been a godsend!) I had a hard draw on one of my batts too, but a quick trip with some isopropyl alcohol cleaned the gunk from the air holes around the threads and fixed that - I tried topping the cart up, but it didn't change... thought I may have gotten a clog, but the airhole LOOKS clear?? just real curious about the whys...

Hello Nitemist :) Have you tried any of the carto fixes in the sticky video (post lift, turn, etc.)? I lifted the post on one of mine that was acting up and it worked just fine after that!
I like the drip tip for all of the mentioned reasons and because it's more comfortable than the carto, imo. But it definitely helps with the heat! I go back to the cartos now and have to put them down when they get hot. I guess before I didn't have an alternative so I didn't mind as much. Now I'm spoiled! I'm definitely going to have to get some more. my dh stole one and I think I'm going to dedicate one to my truck.

@kanza you tried to throw it out? WoW! and I thought ***I*** was a creature of habit! LOL!
Yeah, I have had to clean it a couple of times already... I think I may need to get a second one for the house - I used some wire clips and an adhesive-backed pen holder (like they use at grocery-store checkouts) to keep my PT on the dash in a level position (the other way was to set it into the cubby hole-like space on the dash) so that the juices don't run into the PT or out the other end. it's a PIMA to keep moving it all the time.

@HarmonyPB I have a lot of Snowdragon's vids subscribed, so I can find them easily... and use as many tricks as I can to stretch a buck far as possible (I live in NY where EVERYTHING seems ridiculously expensive! "death and taxes? I'll take death please - I have enough taxes for the moment!" (sheesh)) I don't know if I SHOULD use a tip - the heat from the cart, to me, tells me it's time to put it down for a bit - I think I may have fewer burn-outs that way... ok, time to sound stoopid... your dh? <insert blank look here>

Oh, one last question - when you refill, and you're storing for long term (is overnight long term? hmm) do you store your cart laying flat, mouth-end down or up? obviously you keep them capped, right?

If you use it that heavily (and GOOD for you...just don't try to throw it out the car window like I once did), it probably could stand a more frequent routine cleaning :)
LOL I caught myself before doing that a few days back. since then i make it a point to not ride with the window down when vaping :D

DH: Designated Hitter...mmmm no. Dear Husband..Damn Husband just matters what mood the wife is in!

Try this Nitemist....raise the post. Cartomizers like Batteries screwed onto Rechargers shouldn't be cranked all the way on. If your cartos are cranked all the way down it tends to block the air intake holes, by raising the post the Carto sits higher on the pv, exposing the air intake holes. There should always be a hairline gap between the base of the Carto and the base of the Battery Connector. As well, take a needle and just double check to see if any of the air intake holes are blocked.

Hope that helps....

To elaborate and clarify Snow's explanation: dh can have several meanings depending upon the context of the post. The "h" does stand for husband; the "d" can have several meanings including but not limited to: dear, disgusting, damn, dumb, dead, devious, devilish, demonic dull, drunk, deranged, disagreeable, and dysfunctional. You have to use your imagination to determine which one fits the situation.

Ya gotta love the peeps here :)

Question asked...question answered...and nobody says, "well, aren't you the dummy of the day!" :)

Glad to know I had company in the "pv toss" because old habits are hard to break :) I still put my pv in an ashtray...or try to grind it out...or (this was early on) tried to light it but I caught myself just in time before I melted it :p

I was definitely in line for "dummy of the day" but didn't we all do strange things when first learning to vape, hmmm?
