Even if your using a cigalike your a vaper and belong here and have as much right to help and advice as drippers, sub ohmer's and clouders so always ask questions as there is no such thing as a stupid question only bad replies and occasionally posters :).

Absolutely. When I first got here, all I wanted to know about were cigalikes, but those I could refill myself -- sure a few had irrelevant things to say about them, but a few folks were very kind to help me select something to start with, the eRoll. I soon learned its drawbacks for myself and went on to a pen-style and beyond, but people were generally very helpful in helping me get started and progress with vaping, and I thank all of them from the bottom of my heart! Couldn't have done it without ya!

Ditto and Kudos to the OP. Well said.

It breaks my heart to see folks not get answers/help and or feel uncomfortable because of the "divisive" nature of some segments in the Vaping Community which the OP points out. Please try our little secret /lol at ECF which is called Ask The Veterans at Ask The Veterans

Please insure you read the stickys before you post as it gets challenging to answer a question when you don't have all the facts. This is a VERY VERY labor intensive effort by the ECF Mods as each post is moved into a private forum so the vets (1 year + membrership) can provide VERY VERY high quality answers which are also reviewed by the staff. I love the place so if your a Vet go here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ask-vets-answers/ and help us answer these questions. The Forum script (vB) automatically grants you permission for the answers forum once you reach your one year anniversary. You definitely won't find any: drama, my mod is better than yours, my juice is better than yours, my clouds are bigger than yours, my build is lower than yours, or any adolescent judgmental thoughts on the gear you use.

HTH
:)

Well stated UncleChuck!

We all had to start somewhere. None of us knew everything in the beginning (and god knows I still know so very little, but I try to read and learn from others.)

Not all of us can afford high-end, crazy wicked setups. BUT, if what we are using is keeping us away from cigarettes, then isn't that success, no matter what the form?

Not everybody wants to drip on a 0.05ohm coil at 6 gigawatts. Not everybody wants to make their own juice or build their own coils. Sometimes simplicity is its own reward.

I'm in a "customer support" role at work, and I'm very well aware how little some people know about various things, but my job is to not be condescending, but to encourage and empower. I tell my clients often that the only "dumb" question is the one that goes unasked. If they're not learning, I'm not doing my job right.

So, to the newer folks who might stumble across this thread, take heart - you can successfully vape. You don't have to spend inordinate amounts of money to do so. You just have to find "what's right for *YOU*" and vape on :vapor:

The interwebz is a crazy place. These forums are so well moderated and frankly some of the nicest people you would ever want to glean a little info from! In the small amount of time I've been here, I help when I think I can and have been on a quest to learn as much as I can and apply it when I hit road blocks.

I think this place rocks!! I don't care where you look for info, you will always find "that guy". He's done it faster, better and cannot/will not be corrected. It's always nice to learn things by doing, but with this ever evolving hobby we enjoy, you have to be ever dilligent when safety is involved.

I don't own a mech but I'd like to think if I wanted one, I could operate it safely. I also know, if I had any question about doing just that, I could easily ask it here and get a response very quickly that would quell any uneasiness I had about my choice.

In my short vape life, any and all questions have been handled with respect and enthusiasm. Not saying that I have not seen what you have described, just don't find it to be the norm and when it does happen, there will be 10 other responses that more than make up for one misguided one!!
