Bernard, there are some who find it difficult to stop smoking altogether. They vape to cut down on their smoking. Of course, those of us who have quit (5+ years for me) would like to see them put down the smokes, for their health, but everyone is different. They are still vapers and I think that I speak for the majority, when I say that they are welcome here, too.

Let's just say that the "non smoking area" is also a "sometimes smoking area" too. :)

Well said UncleChuck. What annoys me when people say "I want to upgrade from my eGo-C" and people tell them they need a Sigelei 150 and a Kanger Subtank. I say if you are happy and the eGo's are working why send them to a "juice Guzzling Cloud Machine". Then the body gets used to something like that then your body will always require it. I save my Juice Guzzlers for treats for that reason.

I was down to 5-8 cigs a day on a very regulated schedule when my wife said: "Don't mind the smell in the basement, Mike (son) has just had an e-cigarette."

My wife doesn't smoke, and the basement smelled fine.

Hmm?

The next day I ended my 50 year habit.

Non-smoking - sometimes smoking.

I do it right here in my room next to my bed. (What is that moving around under my blankets?)

Wow that's a lot of writing to basically say "I wish people were better."

Its the Internet. It sucks. 15 years ago you kinda had to be smart to get on forums and usenet groups, but with smartphones and ipads and Tapatalk, the average got in, and the average is stupid. That's just what it is. I ignore it. You can't get offended by everything you see, and you can't assume everyone else is going to get offended either. Most people know to ignore the idiots. It's like spam, or that obnoxious person in front of you at the super market that wants their pasta price checked because they could have sworn they saw a sign that said 9 for 99 cents.

LOL Reminds me of a quote I saw somewhere....
Think about how stupid the average person can be...
Now remember that half of them are dumber than that.

Ed and I were just having this discussion this morning..we've clearly gone different ways with what we both consider to be a satisfying vape and ribbing each other about our gear warm heartedly as couples are prone to do.:p

and commented that no matter what vape it is a eGo to a God Box we're all vapers and it's a SUBJECTIVE thing.

none better than the other..but a satifying vape to the individual (so that they don't smoke). That's what's important.

I agree.

I think it's a good thing and a bad thing, and a difficult balance.

I am very happy that vaping has spread so widely, and is growing at an incredibly fast pace.

But a necessary consequence of that is a change in the community. A bigger audience means more diversity. If you were here in the "blue foam" days, ECF is an extremely different place now. But it should be; it's serving the vaping community, and the community is changing. Used to be a somewhat technical crowd, now it's mainstream. How many other forums handle a population in the age range of 18-99+? (and a few in the 18- bracket who sneak in!)

Yes, there are some people here who are rude, argumentative, or who just like to put people down. And sometimes it seems that they're the ones posting the most. (mea culpa) But when the door is open for all (as it should be!) you will get all kinds of people, of all ages, and some of them are going to be people you really don't like. It's not that different than real life; at least you don't have to work for them!

I do wish that some folks here were nicer, or at least more respectful. But there's a lot of very great folks around here; I try to enjoy that, ignore the ones that rile me, and try to not piss other people off too frequently.

The great thing about online communities, I've found, is that you can leave them alone if you're out of sorts and don't feel like being nice to anyone. The only hard part is knowing you're in that frame of mind BEFORE you hit "post". :D Or maybe even before you sit down and start reading. :D

I spend a lot of time here on ECF, but there are also many hours when I'm cooking, fiddling with my vape stuff in one way or another, watching TV, shopping, visiting my folks or my aunt, or just sitting quietly and reading. And soon -- GARDENING! :D It's good to have a balance of social time and quiet time; nobody feels like being polite and civil every minute of the day, and reading what some people around here post can be an exercise in self-restraint -- NOT responding to it. :D

I have one person ignored. If I had not ignored this so and so, I would have been banned from ECF for life. Ms. Robino1 would have long ago run out of patience with me.

That kind are the only ones I ignore... the ones that, if i said what I really thought of them, I'd get banned. I don't wanna get banned, so it's best if I don't read their posts at all. Unfortunately, a couple of them are quite active, and everyone replies to them, so I end up having to see those tiresome posts anyway. :grr:

She's probably in bed by now AndriaD.

Yeah... we were busy moving my old computer to my husband's desk, to take the place of his even older computer, which had some kind of BIOS problem, lots of BSODs lately. This was made possible by my own new setup:

who are the vapor police anyway, Do they get payed who voted them in and asked them to tell people the right and wrong way to vape?

The ones I hate are the judgmental people who look down there nose and condemn others then turn around and cry about FDA ANTZ ect.... Are they not doing the exact same thing those people are doing?

Weather its a ego toker tisking a cloud chaser or a high end user bashing a Vamo fan.

We all have something to bring to the table might as well enjoy the diversity not try to conform everyone to their narrow views on things.

I would move the laptop to the right; the light to the left; and the screen above the keyboard to the left. Your vaping devices could be on the upper tier on the right. You could put a coffee on the lower tier safely.

Laptop has to stay to the left, because it has a veritable jungle of cords attached to it on the left side -- speakers, USB 2.0/3.0 dongle, ethernet/router, monitor cable. Drink has to stay far to the right, because the left side of the laptop is also where the fan is, so it's quite warm there, it makes my drinks warm. Ditto that for the mod in use; it's warm enough just from use, don't want to expose it to any further heat than necessary. I have my [old] larger monitor as my main screen, and the smaller laptop screen as the supplemental -- I have a separate chrome browser there, for the folding@home browser window, and anything else I might want to look up without interrupting whatever's going on, on the main screen. I'm loving the hell out of 2 screens!!!! :D

Warp ten...!

No kidding! I went directly from one P4 processor, did not pass go, did not bother with dual core, straight to 64-bit quad core i5! 16 gigabytes of RAM! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Best PC I've ever had, and also one of the least costly. Love how the price of tech just drops and drops and drops... :D
