Right now price points for e-cigs runs from the utter crap at $20 to the most expensive at ~$400.

What If someone wanted a truly fine e-cigarette. Made to the same standards as a good Swiss Watch. The item would be marketed to A-list celebrities and would be fit for use on the red carpet. Does such a product exist?

I'd pay that much for a unit that would reliably run for a year+ on the same atomizer, regardless of what experimental crap I fuelled it with (bovril, absinthe, Bach Rescue Remedy, etc.) and allowing for neglect of cleaning and maintenance, etc.

It does seem strange to me that simple heating coils can be so temperamental. But what do I know - I'm just a consumer, and designing this stuff is probably a nightmare sometimes, trying to make it robust enough for people to toke on 12 hours a day+ :)

The Janty line are no different in performance or quality to any other e-cig out there. All your paying for is a good warranty and a nice paint job.

Even they still suffer from duff batteries ( more so of late ) and dying atomizers. Don't be fooled by a brand name e-cig and thinking the actual product is better than anything else.

Given the current unreliability of all PV related hardware that warranty is worth the price IMO.

Where do you pay $400 for an e-cig? I want to point and laugh.

I would pay it if I only needed one, it worked, had a good (2 year warranty), no spare parts needed, no need for topping up, dripping etc...fill it once for the day, charge it once, maybe a spare battery. Yes, I would buy it. Hell, I've already spent more than that on spare atomizers and batteries alone.

I'm sure he has tried this. So have I and many others. Colossal failure! If you get even one cart's worth of vapor, you've enjoyed success with these sorry things. It is a GREAT idea and the poorest possible execution. It's a Health product -- and they are notoriously bad.

If you want celebrities to use one, jazz up a Ruyan Jazz with colors or designs or even fake jewels. No celebrity is going to futz with a device like we use -- being sure to take spare carts and batteries to the Oscar ceremonies. Our models are entirely too much trouble for all but devoted hobbyists.

Polish up a disposable to look like a tart heading out to town. That might fly with the glitz and glamor set.

I can't stop looking at the i-inhale as a propane grenade waiting to explode in his hand.

Ha, that is exactly what I was thinking!

I have an I-Inhale and believe me the gas tank is almost the same size as a common lighter and I have never heard of anybody with a lighter exploding in their hand.

The device is pretty well made, the performance is very good and it is very versatil, you can use tobacco, molasses, shisha tobacco, e-liquids and you don't have to worry about batteries or atomizers.

TB, I like your idea about a dressed up disposable. I agree that of current e-cigs on the market that is the best route.

What I am hoping, in the long run, is something new. I mean vaporizing a liquid isn't the most complex task. Right now the manufacturers are working on mass produced models for the average consumer. If money wasn't an object I am sure most of the basic problems on an e-cig could be overcome. Once you make a consistent device dress it up with platinum and a topaz cover for the led. You would have a very elegant device.
