Great review!! Lots of information, and easy to understand. I will proli watch it again once I have mine in my hand. :) I want to let u know too that I tried a few times to watch it and it would not play. This time no problem, so that saves the viewer lots of frustration!

Well done! :) can't wait to get mine, it will not be my first vv, but will be my first tube mod. I am looking forward to it.

Do you always watch my reviews when you have

mine in my hand

Just curious. :) THANKS!!

Such spirited conversation!! And Cozzi, you chime in ANY time you want!!

"And John D, how about you just ...." LOLOL

No offense taken it's a discussion that needs to be had .....

So the shorter version of my point is simply this: Given the relative safety of IMR batteries, and their current capacity it's confusing to me why anyone would design a stacked battery mod given the additional risk (and explosiveness) of two batteries, Vs. one.

I just spent a while Googling "IMR battery safety", and 99% of the results were e-cig forum discussions just like this one, with a scarcity of hard, definitive information that you can really "take to the bank".

My gut feeling with stacked IMR batteries is that due to their safer chemistry, that the worst-case, and also reasonably unlikely scenario is that they experience a short - internal or otherwise - and your PV gets hot, you go "ouch", and drop it, perhaps scorching your couch, your rug, or again - worst-case - your "post".

As we make choices in life, we need hard evidence to base our risk vs. reward decisions on. "Do I fly to Chicago, or drive?" "Should I smoke, or vape?" "If I go to Alaska, will I be mauled by a polar bear?"

We need some cold, hard, scientific facts here. I'd love to get some input from this person:

"Esther Takeuchi, a prolific energy storage expert, holds more than 140 U.S. patents. She’s known for developing the battery that made implantable cardiac defibrillators possible.

Now a professor at SUNY’s University at Buffalo, Takeuchi is using her battery knowledge to tackle transport and the power grid. I spoke with Takeuchi recently about her career, her next innovation and the increasing importance of batteries".

http://www.smartplanet.com/blog/pur...h-most-us-patents-on-her-next-innovation/3996

And after listening to her speak in this video about applying medical-use battery technology to electric vehicles -

UB Research: Extending the Life of Batteries for Electric Vehicles - YouTube .... I think I'm in love with Ms. Takeuchi. Damn, I'm just crazy about women with big ...... brains. :)

I think I'll email her to see if she can weigh in on this subject, given the vital importance of vaping as a way to potentially save hundreds of thousands of lives a year. And maybe "posts" will come up. LMAO

Just pulling your post, Phil :) (Well, in saying that, my own actually, but what else is new)? LOL

And I really did like the review, thanks again for it.

On the "this thing puts out way more volts than it says it is" subject:

I think that could be an asset for what I want to try next; building my own single-coil attys (there's a "Bulli" atty in my future) with very high resistances, like even up to 8 ohms, to see if higher voltage/higher resistance really does improve flavor, which is one of the main things I'm after lately, and that I know you value highly as well (well, who doesn't I guess).

7 volts x 7 volts / 8 = 6 watts on a single 8 ohm coil. (7 ohms => 7 watts; 6 ohms => 8.16 watts)

That just might give one hell of a sweet vape, and in all senses of the word. Can't wait to experiment with that.

I'm thinking that the best vape, especially flavor, will come from a single coil that's at the optimum temperature for a given juice, that a single coil has the best shot at being in contact with just the right saturation of juice (as opposed to, say, the upper coil of a dual coil cartomizer), and that higher ohms = more windings + lots of vapor, assuming the resistance of the wire is the same as that of the lower-resistance coil(s) in question. (Damn, does this guy like to hear himself talk, or what???) lol

There's just a lot to this, to say the least, but I love the science of it, and I love to vape, and I want the best one possible for myself and for everyone else. That's why I go on and on and on .......... and on ....... lol

Keep up the very, very good work, Phil. You've got a rare blend of brains, personality, humor, technical savvy (both video and vaping) and eagerness to help and share information with others going on there.

Well thanks very much John! I do appreciate that. Funny cause I'm getting ready to build my second coil for the Ody. I'm thinking about different designs and they're along the lines of your thinking:

Great rexiew Phil. Gonna wait till they get the bugs worked out.

Different strokes for different folks! I just sent out some feelers about who has more of the "defective" ones. I love the fact that they "go up to 11".

These Go To 11... | This Is Spinal Tap | Classic Clips - YouTube

And if you want to keep from damaging the low res atty (that I don't see why you would be using anyway on this device - talking about the V2Max "1.0" here) when it resets to 5 volts, you could always just back off your atty 1/2 a turn so it can't fire.

And if the "Black Beast" really is dead .... then Long Live the Black Beast! :)

At first, I was thrilled to hear that you and I might think alike; now, after further reflection, I'm not quite sure how I feel about that!

You know, all too often in life we just take something, or someone, for granted, not really fully appreciating it, or them, until you might just happen to experience something that makes you realize just how good you've got it, and that you were a fool to fail to properly value, and cherish, and count your lucky stars for it, or them.

I've recently had just such an experience; one that will haunt me for some time, but that I can get through, overcome, and eventually put into perspective, and forgive, and maybe even learn to laugh about one day.

I think my recent revelation can be best expressed in song, and I can think of none better than this one, that I'd like to dedicate to my favorite reviewer, and national treasure, Mr. Phil Busardo.

Hit it, Stevie.
