So, I was driving down to a friend's wedding from Minneapolis to Omaha. Along the way, I made a stop at a typical looking truck stop (with a McDonald's inside). As I was walking through the entrance, I saw a sign on the door that said "Electronic Smoking devices Welcome!" I just had to smile. Being one of those people who likes to keep my PV disguised, I was a little worried about using it inside. I decided to try anyways, and was I happy I did! I didn't get any death glares or parents pulling there children away from me and looking at me as if I were some serial killer. Everyone smiled with that "Minnesota nice" smile, as if I were walking around with something as normal as a cup of coffee. No one even gave any curious glances. People generally seemed to know what my Janty stick was.

So for anyone traveling on I-35 in Minnesota, chances are you might run into some vape friendly establishments :D

How cool was that!!

It has been about 2 months since I first heard about e cigs and have used them for about a month. In that time frame I have not ran into a single person who knew what it was.

The closest I got was people mixing it up with the nic inhaler. Now that I actually have mine and have been using more and more people are telling me that oh so and so at work got one of those too, or my friend got one and I am thinking of getting one too.

I think it is neat that a place of business knew enough about them to feel like they needed to address it with a sign on their door.

I have been working with a few businesses in my town about allowing vaping in their establishment. So far the progress has been just that. Progress. I provided documentation and even showed them a memo for our State AG that said the because there is no combustion, no second-hand smoke, etc, that bars and restaurants are fair game. Most are curious to see how it works and why its healthier/safer than analogs and a few agreed that once they talk to their lawyers and agree that its legal in their position, they will post vaping welcome signs

Earlier this year i was still on analogs and was in Charlotte airport and had just checked my luggage in.
I asked a TSA guy if there was a smoking section in the airport.
He replied that all of charlotte airport had recently turned smoke free.
-"Damn, i had better stay this side of security then." I replied.
He pulled out a white fake cigarette out of his shirt pocket and took a drag.
I had never seen this before and asked him what it was.
He took the time to explain to me what an e-cig was.
I have to thank this man which i will almost certainly never see again.
From that day forward, i had a little voice in the back of my mind telling me to stop smoking , and to give this new technology a try.
Just thought i would share this anecdote with you.

The moral of the story is that i think that vaping is quite positively seen from the eyes of an analog smoker.
On the other hand i have noticed that some people who are non smokers, reject both analog and digital.
They think we are junkies either way.
