You've better hurry up on that paint job. The atomizer could kick off before the paint even dries! :D

Jamie, I know; you are so right. But so far, my MyE-Cig has been performing very well. So I think it's time to paint it. The painting process will take a couple days and I don't want to gve up this one for that long. In the name of art I must proceed - wish me luck!

I'm fairly sure the batteries for my penstyles (5 survivors from 8 originals) are all rubbish. I must change the battery about 5 or 6 times a day. 2 of them are NJOYs and I haven't noticed any better performance than the generics. I am a very heavy user though.

Nobody can guarantee me that a device will last two weeks, so I'd never even consider trying to replace 140 one-time use fags with a single e-cig.

Remember that shops-closed-last-...-in-the-packet-feeling? That would be my constant state...
I second every word Emp... every word. Well, we don't say fags here but... ;) Thanks for mentioning this about the batteries. I'd been thinking about updating a battery thread as I've got 4 chargers going 'round the clock and it seems like everyones batteries last so much longer than mine do. I take 2 extra batteries to go to the gas station, just in case!

Reading all these failure rates of e-cigs of all brands in here is really scaring me. I am so incline to switch to e-smoking, but i'm just not sure if i am willing to spend this much on something which i have never try before.

Side Note: I'm from Asia too DevilFisH. I'm from Singapore, where are you from?

I don't know why you are comparing the e-cig with contraband cigarettes. I don't see the e-cig breaking any tobacco laws since it doesn't contain any tobacco. We have nicotine gums, patches, etc going around the country.

I don't see anyone getting caught for smoking a e-cig. I'm planning to smoke this thing in shopping malls and restaurants. Trust me, i will.

I think most people get better life than me because of the use pattern. I use mine like a dummy (I know you guys say pacifier, but to me a pacifier's a baseball bat with a nail through the end) so the power drain is sorta constant.

what I really need is a bandolier...

Baseball bat with a nail through the end? I don't get it. And what is a bandolier. Please excuse my American english. Also, some of the posts seem to indicate that this forum is American. Isn't it really international? I like learning new words. Sometimes I'm clueless though :) BTW I'm from Akron, Ohio USA. So what do you Britts call the thing that babies suck on? I did look up bandolier, sorry I didn't do that before I asked. Wikipedia says it's a pocketed belt for holding ammunition. Emp, I like your sense of humor, but I don't get this one. Maybe I'm just being a dummy (stupid). Oh, and "..." is a derrogotory (sp?) word for a homosexual. So ... does sound really strange to me when it means cigarette. English is a strange and fascinating language!

i think Emp means that a baseball bat with a nail through will pacify anyone!:p

and a bandolier is like a belt that straps round your body to hold bullets, like they wear in westerns sometimes.

and its a british based forum, but its very very international...come one, come all.:)

Exactly right, D! I got 'pacifier' from Dusty and I thought he was slugging people with it. I love words that mean different things to Americans and Brits - means I can get a sneaky wind up in (Janet, that's nothing to do with clocks!)

Etymological Emp

Emp, I love how you do that - it leaves people dumbfounded. One of these days you're gonna come out with something and I won't even know what you're talking about, I'm sure of it. :p

one thing that always goes thru my mind.. some people have that many e cigs on this board and use them as toys.. nothing wrong here but i feel flipping about in this toy like fashion hides just how short a life span these things have.. and how simply useing one single device seriously to replace a real cig habit would fail most people..trog

That's something I can't deny. Part of my obsession with these things is just an extension of my obsession with gadgets and toys. And having a bunch does indeed make judging longevity harder.

But then, I've never reccomended that anyone should rely on just one e-cig, no matter what kind it is. I've always said you should have 2 or 3 at least. And extra parts, too. But everyone has to start with their first, and take it one at a time.

For hobbiests like us that's ok, but you are right that won't work for the mass market. Maybe Bob's right and LT or GC are the future.

But yeah, I'll admit they're toys for me. So what? With cigarettes there were novelty lighters, cigarette cases, ashtrays, and so on. I've always gotten plenty of toy value out of my smoking habit. Mos of my souveniers since I started smoking were smoking paraphinalia.

Life's a game, and the winner is the one who dies with the most toys! :D

This has to be one of the most entertaining forums out there, just because of the assortment of characters here!

FYI, I'm one of the guys that only owns the penstyles.

I own 3 NJOY atomizers, 3 NJOY batteries, 3 of Meltrix' white atomizers, 2 Meltrix white batteries.

(So it's like owning 3 black ecigs & 2 generic white ones.)

I take one of each to work with me everyday. The NJOYs have a little more kick for me, so I load it with a high-nic cartridge & use it sparingly--at lunchtime, and for a "smoking break" around 2:30pm, where I sneak downstairs to my former smoking-hideout in our underground garage...ah, nothing like a sneaked smoke!

But I use Meltrix generic cig with an apple or vanilla cartridge for "puffin' around with" at my desk.

After 28 years of 20+ cigs a day, I gave them up entirely within the first week of using this handy little device & I honestly can't imagine going back to cigs. (What's ironic is, I had no intention of quitting my habit completely, I was just hoping to cut down!)

If someone had told me ONE MONTH AGO that I'd be giving up cigarettes within a month with virtually no withdrawl pangs, I would've laughed and blown secondhand smoke in their face. I still can't believe it.

Finally, like devilfish--I AM worried I'm smokin' more too. It's too easy to sit on my lazy ... at my desk and puff happily away on apple vapor!

I am STILL trying to decide whether this is a good or bad thing...
