So looking at all the new fancy touchscreen mods, I can't help but feel that someday soon, we will see Android based mods with apps, games, Blu-tooth and the ability to connect to your phone and allow you to read and respond to text messages and emails from your mod without having to take your phone out of your purse/pocket. They of course will be expensive but will find a niche market, just as smart watches, rings (Yes Fitbit makes a ring now) and glasses are starting to.

Remember folks, you heard it here first.

Will someone make it? Probably. Will I buy it? Not in this lifetime. I'm totally content vaping a mechanical squonker. Oh, and my watch... It's mechanical too.

Well I have had my "black balloon" birthday a few years ago, but I don't listen to or watch anything with commercials in it. I do everything in my power to avoid ads. They used to not bother me too much when it was just TV and radio, but then they started spamming email, texting ads to phones, calling you with ads, and web pages started trying to put more ads than content on every page. I just finally had enough.

I use the net to get the kind of music I like, plug a cord into the back of my ole guy Bose Wave [stunned at how shunned I am for that] and presto chango I may as well be in New York City, musically speaking.

How do you push the market for a battery box other than adding bigger numbers or more bells and whistles?

Personally durability, simplicity and reliability are the characteristics I look for in a mod.

IMO a portion of the market will likely or already has settled into your second quote.

Unfortunately durability and market share may not coincide. Hard to sell the new super durable mod if the 3 you have are waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and catproof etc.

VV boxes and anything over the top durable has really been catching my eye lately.

Chicago is broke and can't afford jazz! I do miss listening to the radio up there tho. Illinois is just plain broken with no solution in sight.

For the car I put all my music on a USB Thumb drive and plug that in. If your car radio does not have a USB port, you can add one from GROM Audio. They sell kits to add USB ports, Android Navigation, HD Radio Tuner, and more to an existing radio unit. I just got the USB port kit.
