Its been a year and a bit since I first started vaping and I find myself getting more and more frustrated as of recent.

I've been having a lot of analog cravings over the last few weeks and I think I can attribute it to two major gripes I've had lately.

1) I can't enjoy vaping outside. I don't know why. I used to love having to walk outside at night to smoke a cigarette. Even when it was cold. Especially when it was cold. I don't know why, I guess there was just something refreshing about it to me. I keep trying to vape outside but I just can't bring myself to enjoy it. I suppose being able to "smoke" indoors now balances it out, but .......n do I miss my night time winter cigarettes.

2) I've been having a lot of consistency issues lately. I decided to branch out and try more juices and PVs since I was mostly only ordering from one vendor (TastyVapor is phenomenal but I wanted to try other things). I now own a Silver Bullet as well as Knight Rider and I just can't get any consistent performance out of them some days. Sometimes it seems like my cartos on my Knight Rider burn right through from full to dry in a few minutes. Sometimes it reads 6 volts but it tastes like 3.0. Sometimes I can barely taste anything.

I'm not really sure if this is all coherent or not, I'm quite tired at the moment. I just wanted to post this here to see if anybody could share some advice to help me along, or even if anybody has similar issues.

Thanks for reading :3

I just looked up the Knight Rider and it has a voltage limiter based on the ohm of the coil just like the ProVari does. It's a protection thing..maybe the carts might be dropping in resistance after a lot of use..lower the ohm resistance the more it will limit volts. Flooding the coil with juice could lower the resistance too probably depending on the conductivity of the juice.

Looks like the Knight Rider is the same as a LavaTube with a different name (The ProVari probably is the same too with a different tube and look). Your Silver Bullet probably doesn't have a volt limiter as it's looks like a simply switch MOD. IDK why they call them MODs really since they are mass produced in China..just a selling point so they can charge you more probably...

If you're vaping at 6V you need to use a reg ohm, low resistance causes the voltage to drop on any device that has a protection built in. Also low resistance will burn up a lot faster when used at a high voltage. As far as vaping outside I would say that maybe it's the flavor you're not enjoying. Outside air is different than inside air and can make things taste different. I know that my cigs used to taste different inside than outside so maybe you just need to find a new juice that tastes good outside. I vape at home inside but when at work or school I got outside and I notice a difference in the flavor of my juice too but I still like mine. I have a silver bullet and I love it. I use it at 6V with a reg punched carto and a tank. You're taste buds can change over time so just keep trying and you'll get it :) don't get discouraged.

While I love tastyvapor juices I haven't had good luck with them in my attys and cartos. Using tastyfinger, I killed several attys after only one day of use and when the juice is used in a smoktech or boge carto it only lasts one day until the flavor is flat and stale. I quit using them.

I have a LT and like it. you didn't mention what resistance atty or carto you're using. The LT works well with LR cartos if you keep it under 4.1 and it works well with 3.0 cartos at around 5v

I've noticed with the LT, if the amp limit is reached it will drop you back down too low.. you kinda have to sneak up on it. with mine, if I use a 1.7 carto and set the LT to say, 5v.. it will drop me down to 3.2 or something like that.. but I can set it right below the amp limit (4.1 or 4.2) and it will stay there. I have a voltmeter that I used to figure this out.

I was actually considering buying a Darwin sometime soon if I can't get comfortable with my Knight Rider.

I'm using 3.0 ohm cartos with it. I can get up to 6v with most juices.

I was thinking that maybe I should try going back to attys for the first time since I started vaping so I purchased three 3.5 ohm bridgeless 306 attys from Nhaler. Either they're awful, or I'm just not used to vaping attys. I primed them, puffed away, primed, puffed away, etc etc. Not really getting anything out of them. "Minimal vapor production" is putting it nicely.

Perhaps I'll just try a Provari soon. They look like they're built well. Every time I hold this Knight Rider I'm surprised it hasn't just fallen apart yet. It just seems.. flimsy.

That's because you just had a SB in your hand. That thing makes anything seem flimsy.

I would suggest that you simplify for a while.
Since you already have the SB, put a 2ohm Boge carto or 1.7ohm Smoketech carto in a carto tank, and just enjoy a simple vape.

i have also noticed that vapin outside is not the same,,but then again outside is 0 or colder right now and since i started vapin :)

Yes, but I quite enjoyed smoking on cold nights. Perhaps I'll try a menthol flavor for outside. That might be nice.

Good point you have there. That Silver Bullet feels indestructible. Truly a beautiful piece of machinery. I think I'll go back to some dual coils and maybe buy a tank. The maintenance on the Knight Rider is just too much some nights. 6v really burns through your juices.

the problem with the knightrider aka lava tube is that as your battery drains your voltage may be set to 6v but if you had it on a meter you would see that that 6v is metering at 5.1v under load so the solution is to change the battery at 3.6v

Hmm. I'll have to charge up the batteries then. I usually keep them charged but I just haven't had the motivation to bother taking care of this thing.

Don't get me wrong, I do like my Knight Rider. I just get frustrated with it. A lot.

By the way, thanks a ton guys. I appreciate your input.
