I hate when those people come to my door. A long time ago I let them into my house and I think they were sorry. They was ready to leave.
I started on the healing thing and miracles. Than went to the speaking in tongues. I am Pentecostal and they do not believe in any of those things.

I talked mostly of healing and miracles and they tried to tell me that healing is past. That did not go over to good with me.
They was good and ready to leave my house.:D

I like the idea from the Dali Lama....He believes that its better to have a basket full of many fruit than just one fruit. Meaning that all the religions have there own meaning but they are so much alike. And you can learn so much more from many religions than from just one.
To me every religion in there own right are beautiful and full of knowledge and wisdom.

Was this the 14th Dalai Lama - the man who accepted "45 million rupees, or about 170 million yen" from the leader of the Supreme Truth cult which released sarin nerve gas in the Tokyo Subway system?

As for beauty in all religions. In the example of all the beautiful music and art from religion. If we could choose between the following what would we prefer?

Having to go without religiously inspired music and art in exchange for mankind not having to have experienced the crusades or for that matter any religious wars or indeed acts of terrorism motivated by religious belief?

jeesh if you dont believe in anything than everything is worthless...and no Im talking about the dali lama who left tibet because of china. And if you want to talk about all the negative sides of religion than every religion is guilty on that account even more so in christians....the crusades were started by the christians.....but all in all there is still beauty left in this world and everyone is different and for that makes life a basket full of many fruit. Thats what I mean by what the Dali Lama said....its the differences in this world that makes life interesting and meaningful.

I had such a big laugh over that... thanks for sharing it! :D I know several people of the Morman belief.. and they are wonderful people... but I don't like anyone knocking at my door trying to push their beliefs (or anything) on me.... I turn from a mild mannered woman into a totally crazy woman! I'm fine if they just want to leave a pamphlet on the door knob!! :)

Strictly speaking atheists just don't believe in deities including the Christian God. That leaves atheists freed up to believe in anything else although you'd be hard pushed to find a rational atheist who believed in the supernatural.

The Dalai Lama who left Tibet is the 14th i.e. the current Dalai Lama. Unless you know of another Dalai Lama who left Tibet because of China?

So we're agreed all religions found guilty. ;)

Over beauty - As a great conductor said "If you have Mozart to listen to, why would you need God"?

about religion, I see that people make the religion -that God gave us- a mess. I dont care what people do to the religion or what they do to the name of God. Many people are stupid and unfortunately they are in strong positions into the society.

So I care only for what Jesus and apostles said and not what other people said or did after them.
