*waves hello* So I've been lurking here for the past week. I've been doing research on e-cigs for a while now. After all the searching I've heard the best things about V4L. Plus they seem to have the best selection and product. I decided on the Cartomizer type based on what alot of you guys have said here.

I've been a smoker for a while now and I'm about 10-12 a day. I'd like to cut back and potentially give it up for good and I'm very excited about trying this. I just have a few tiny questions before I make my order and was hoping I could get some advice.

I'm trying to decide what nic strength to get. Would it be better to try medium for as much as I smoke everyday or would low be fine? I'm just worried it will be too much but I'm probably just over analyzing it.

My other question after just starting did you prefer the fruit flavors or the tobacco flavors better? Because I'm having a very hard time deciding what flavors to get :D I almost wish there were less options! :p

Glad you asked that question! and welcome to ECF. I bought low nic 8 mg and vaped constantly. I increased my nic strength to 11 mg and vape less now, but 18 mg is much better. I don't need to vape as much. I was smoking 10-12 cigs a day. vaping doesn't deliver as much nicotine as smoking. I like the tobacco flavors now because they taste like cigs. But I also vape pineapple. Did not like whiskey or cinnamon. But we are all different. If I had to do it over, I'd have started at 18 mg. Just my opinion.

Hey Relquin! Choosing V4L was a VERY good decision!! If I were you I would probobly go with a middle of the line mg. cart like 18 and also get a lower mg. also.....If the 18 is too high you can retreat back to the lower(like 8/11mg.) It just depends on your body how much you can handle....there are people on here that have smoked for 30 plus years at 3 packs a day and think that 18mg. is even too high but I smoked for 14 yrs at one pack a day and can handle 36mg. and wouldn't go any lower than 24mg! As for flavors...most people think they want a tobacco flavor at first and then quickly realize they like the fruity flavors more. If you smoke menthol I would reccomend the cowboy menthol of nuport flavors(cool is also pretty good). But I would order a "fruity" flavor and a tobacco flavor so you can decide which is more for you! Hope this helps and Welcome to the team!:D

I smoked 3 packs a day and started with 36 and 24. My sister smoked half a pack a day and started with an 8, 11, and 24 now she uses the 24 only when shes drinking. Depends, I would order a little of each. Flavors are so suggestive, I started with Marlboro, and never had another cigarette, but I love the fruits and my favorite almond joy.

Welcome!! This is a great forum for a great product!! And if you're anything like the rest of us "ORDER HERE AND ORDER OFTEN!!" just can't get enough of the new flavors, batteries and so on.

You will never go wrong with V4L. I switched 15 days ago and Steve at V4L has been fantastic with everything. I just can't say enough about the customer service. I smoked a pack a day and use 24mg. A friend of mine at work switched and is happy with 18mg. I think that's a good range to start. As far as flavors go, try as many as you can. I found them all weak at first, but after about a week they started to show up on my taste-buds radar. Good Luck!

Wow that was really fast! lol

Thank you sooooo much for your input. I guess I'll get a medium, low and zero for my first order. I most certainly will be placing another order after I make this first one. I really am having the hardest time trying to pick flavors!

I'm sort of on a budget for this first order so I'll try to get a little of everything :) I don't smoke menthol's so I don't think I'd like any of the mint things. Probably something chocolate and something fruity!

Welcome to the family! And it's a great idea to try out a combo and see what works for you. I started with 24mg (pack a day smoker) and prefer it to be a bit lower. I haven't quite found my perfect vape but I'm getting close. My budget is limited too or I'd be like JenJen and ordering all the time!

I hate the tobacco flavors but that's just me, chocolate makes me tingle.

Welcome! I found that I didn't care for the tobacco flavors much, but the coffee and cappuccino really got me off the cigs! I also like the peach cobbler and love love love the banana. I'm really enjoying the ice cream sundae and toffee as well, and beer and tequila are the two alcohol vapes I like best.

If throat hit is important to you, then you probably will be happiest with at least 18. If not, lower will probably work for you. During the day I vape 18 (or 24 for the rare times that I really want a kick in the pants lol.) At night, I tend to vape the lower nic - 8 and under. Unfortunately, everyone is different and you just have to keep trying flavors and strengths and find what works best for you - it will probably be like most of us - different things for different times and moods. ;) Hang in there - you will find your sweet spot!

Welcome Relquin! The PCC kit is a good place to start, especially with a second battery! Haven't tried the Ice Cream Sundae yet, however, I believe Jen loves it. There are so many different flavors to choose from - you will find your favorite soon and then just keep adding to it. A less expensive alternative would be to try the sampler 5ml refill bottles - the hardest part is keeping track of which flavor you have in the cart.

You will be stalking the site soon .. enjoy!

Well you guys talked me out of tobacco flavors! I just made my order and now I play the waiting game. I just can't wait for it to get here. I just had to get the Ice Cream Sundae that sounds delicious. I also added a second battery to my list, because I ordered the PCC kit.

I really loved smoking and I really love the tobacco flavors, especially Virginia and Parliament. For my morning vape with my coffee, I have to have tobacco flavors in 36mg. Nothing else will do. That is what has kept me off analogs, I believe.

I've been vaping for a month now and I'm just starting to mix some 24mg in with my 36mg juices. I can really tell the difference; 24mg is borderline weak for me, but I'm planning to keep at it with my goal being 0mg nicotine someday. Hopefully my taste buds will adjust eventually to the lower nic.

The only low-nic juice I can stand so far is the Pear Lung Juice from Nhaler. I find that I like to vape that at night before bedtime.

V4L's pear cartomizers are outstanding. Actually, I haven't had a single cartomizer that I haven't liked, but some I absolutely love.

My point is that there are some of us out here who do love the tobacco flavors, so you may want to give them a try.

Welcome and congrats on your decision to try to give up the analogs.

Everyone is totally different, but with a little trial and error you will find what works best for you.

I started with the 11 and 18mg but soon discovered that it just wasn't enough for me. So then I moved up to 24 and 36mg, mostly the 24. Now I'm trying to back off the nicotine level, so I just got some 18mg.

A lot of people start with the higher ones first thing in the morning, and then use lower nic ones at night. I'm just the opposite, though. I find I need more nicotine as the day progresses, so I start with my 18's and then move to the 24's when the need arises.

I started like most folks thinking that I had to have tobacco flavors; after all, I had smoked 2 packs/day for over 38 years. But I discovered within a few days that I really liked the other flavors better. I have around 20 favorites now, so I'm happy.

So just try some different flavors, and you'll find a few that suit your tastebuds. Just be aware that as you go longer and longer without an analog, your tastebuds will start waking up, and your preferences will probably change over time.

Happy vaping! :)

Received my order today! I'm in love. Currently vaping on the Pink Lemon aid and totally loving it. I had to take little baby draws off of it for a little while until I didn't feel like I had to cough but its been 5 hours now and I seem to have taken like a fish to water. :)

I had to go make another order, because the husband is interested now and he wanted tobacco flavors and something stronger. I'm pretty excited about this, its been 5 hours and I've only had 1 analog. Oh and a huge super thanks to the guys at V4L for throwing in some goodies, really made my day.

I'm trying 555 for the first time tonight. I absolutely love it! It's smooth and nutty and delicious. I highly recommend it.

I'm off to add 555 cartos to my next order!

I love it too. Just today got some blank cartos & filled one with the 5ml/18mg liquid (using Tary's spin method).

Tastes EXACTLY like the pre-filled cartos. :):):)

Really good news!

Same story at my house. I ordered first, then another kit for my husband who wanted tobacco flavors, (actually cuban cigar.)

Yes, Steve and crew are the absolute best!! Glad you're taking to it -- sounds like your learning curve is actually pretty short compared to some. I'm so happy for you. I also like the pink lemonade -- received it as a freebie. I was really surprised how much I liked it since it's not something I would have ordered.

And congrats on getting your DH interested in vaping as well. I don't use the tobacco flavors as much as the others, but I can also recommend the 555. Others here recommend Camel and Parliment, plus a few others.

Happy vaping!
