Acrylic Drip Tips- Stainless Core?

Hi:
When looking at acrylic drip tips, I understand the stainless core will make them stronger (if dropped etc), but is there any reason/benefit to not having a stainless core?

There is none that I can think of, unless there was an allergy involved.
Reinforcement would be the only other benefit I could imagine.
If someone else has more info, please chime in.

I have a friend who makes acrylic and Tru Stone drip tips. He does not use a core tube in the acrylic, but he does in the Tru Stone.
