I don't recommend ANYTHING to "noobs" here on ECF (except for once). But I WILL share my advise based on my limited experience.
I almost never recommend anything, and if I ever do it is not somethiing specific.
If I have enough information on what they think they want I will sometimes suggest a type of electronic cigarette.

Basically, I like to ask a number of questions before recommending anything at all.
But it seems to be a waste of time to even try.

By the time I get answers to a couple of questions, dozens of people have already recommended something.
And by that point the original poster quite often doesn't even bother answering the questions I asked.

Goin' Mobile... eeh ooh, beep beep!
Just got done clearing 3 feet of snow from the driveway and while I'm sitting & vaping, thought I'd add my 2 cents...

This (ECF) - as are most forums - is an affinity forum. I belong to other affinity forums & know what they're like, soooo... when I was ready to check out vaping, I purposefully stayed away from ANY ecig or vaping forum because... ALL I wanted to do was quit smoking. I had no intention of becoming a vaping "enthusiast" and whatever I bought was going to be a temporary measure that once its purpose was achieved would go into storage... perhaps in the case of a relapse. If the search engine results gave me URL's to forums - I didn't click. I read just about every manufacturer's FAQ's and followed their "justification" links to places like the Health New Zealand Study, random supportive news (real news) articles, YouTube ad nauseum, yadda yadda yadda. Then I searched the anti side of the activity and again, didn't go to any forums. I assumed - incorrectly - that there was no one-stop-shopping for information (even though it's presented without balance, just about everything is here somewhere). I made my initial purchase, stopped smoking, and only then allowed myself to check out the forums - there are many... and wound up here.

I'm glad I didn't stop here prior to that first purchase & ask how I should get started. I'd still be wading through the responses, links, & information overload. Just like in golf... Over Analysis Leads to Paralysis... And I've witnessed this happening more than once in the New Members section.

Now - if I'd accidentally stumbled upon THIS thread - or one substantially like it - that would have been marvelous! There's great info in this thread, mosty posted to justify or argue position, but it's better & more balanced (and much more entertaining) than much of what gets passed along in the New Members section.

That's a great point, and it just occurs to me that this might make a really good Gnube Forum sticky.

It's a different animal, that's for sure. I think it's a finicky atty on a battery. But once I get it going, it's got a devastating hit at 5v lol.

I've never found it more finicky than any others, at least not the BE112's. The cartos can be depending on the manufacturer but the taste and throat hit are outstanding at 5 volts, IMO.

I've only had it hooked up to a protege. Never had a pen-style battery for it. It just seemed to give me problems every other couple of atty's. Never could peg if it was the protege, or the atty. Was never that big of a deal, but seemed like it would need loosened or tightened depending on how it felt. One hit it would be fine, the next I'd have to tinker with it. Or sometimes, it just worked without problems.

Planning to buy an eGo battery? It's 2-3/4" long and about about 1/2" diameter, with 650mAh of power.

Need a little more juice? There's there eGo XL, measuring 3-3/4" long and with 1000mAh of power. Some call this one the "Super Ego."

Coming soon, to complete the Freudian triumvirate... "The Id." It promises to be 2" in diameter and a full foot long! With an astounding 5,000,000Ah (that's amps, not miliamps) this thing will last for months without a recharge for even the most addicted chain-vaper. It will burn a 2 ml eGo cartomizer dry in about three drags, leaving the vaper passed out on the floor for hours. When you hold the button down, the theme from The Exorcist plays, along with assorted deep growls and eerie howls. When you release the button, it flatulates a cloud of sulfurous smoke from the back end, with appropriate sound effects, leaving the room smelling reminiscent of brimstone and decomp. You can recharge it at any electric automobile charging station, and it will be up and running in about two hours. Special Id cartomizers will be released in 2011, each holding an astonishing 60ml, for an all-day vape you'll never forget... if you survive!

Reserve yours today, at your favorite e-cig dealer. Retail price: $666, of course!!
