I still have a pair of RN4081's. I still have them because they're perfect for when I'm out on the bike or tinkering on crap out in the shop. On the bike or in the garage I can slip one in my glove and vape while out on a cruise....which is freakin awesome...or while adjusting the supercharger on my Buick, for example.

The sad thing here is, if I were to post up;
"I need a good replacement for my RN4081 automatics. They're handy for when I'm out cruising on the bike or working on the hot rods in the garage. They're perfect for what I need and I'd like to stay with some kind of supermini/auto that is not sound activated for this purpose. Any suggestions?''

...I'd get about a dozen people either telling me I need an eGo and/or telling me those 4081's suck as well as a few telling me autos suck and are no good for dripping. Then others will chime in with "that battery sucks and doesn't last long" or "you need a mod so you can vape for days between charges".

Lol. I'd suggest an 808 now. I think that's gonna be my go to answer from now on until I try another cig sized pv that shows it up. Like I said in the earlier post, I was truly impressed by the hits I was getting from his ace kit. Especially the longer 380mah battery. I got an adapter for my screwdriver to use 808's and while it works great, it was a tad to hot and messed with the taste a bit.

Have you tried a juice with a 70/30 PG/VG mix? I also believe you still can get an autoEGO, but I wouldn,t
try dripping with it you need at least one hand on the handlebars

No no no!!! What you NEED is a custom chrome finished PV holder to mount on the tank of your bike to hold a shiny new chrome Silver Bullet. Well... that's IF you have a Harley. If not then you should just keep that little supermini thing ya got. LOL

I would have mentioned this, but I thought it was common knowledge.

I just got a 901 from Totally Wicked... just because I never had an actual 901 battery to go on the 901 attys I already had for other mods...

I have been vaping it all morning, and sitting in front of me there's a buzz, a provape 2, an EGO and who knows what else, hidden in the trash heap I like to call my desk...

The 901 is AWESOME... It's an automatic, and I'm really enjoying it... a lot. I have to admit I keep trying to find the button, but that's just habit... I will ABSOLUTELY keep this and vape it in the workshop when I'm modding, or for use out on the bike if it doesn't false trigger.

I like it WAY better than my eGo so far. I may even put my eGos in the classified section in trade for more 901 stuff...

You should head on out to the noob section and give that a whirl... should be an interesting read.

But I already know I need an eGo with a switch-blowing LR atty and blue foam crap stuffed into the cart. And I also already know I just HAVE to buy my juice from "Vendor X" because they're the best.

I must be one of the few long time vapers that really doesn't like the Ego. I like my traditional ecigs that resemble an ecig. I bought into all the hype and purchased an ego when it was on sale and I have been very unimpressed.

We shouldn't be making generalizations that noobs want to skip a process because we are all different and will find satisfaction in different models.

You're not alone... I'll bet the VAST majority of e-cig users never even heard of an eGo because they don't frequent these forums, and not all of them would be impressed if they knew about it anyways.

It would be extremely arrogant of me to assume that the device that is best for me would be the best for EVERYBODY...

Can you IMAGINE a car forum where a person makes their first post asking about the acceleration of their car, and have all sorts of people responding... "BUY A BUICK DARK AVENUE"?

It's just idiotic.

Agreed 100% sorta. lol

What I think everyone is missing here is the big picture and that these "noobs" (even though most of them have smoked longer than most of the "experts" in here have been alive) have knowingly come into this forum that is frequented by thousands of people from around the planet to ask for advise. A fair guess is that most of these "noobs" know how to make educated decisions based on the facts and recommendations they are given.

I know when I first started lurking in here I was simply overwhelmed by the 30 trillion different e-cig's and all there options. It was actually so over the top information wise I almost said screw it and was going to walk away and keep smoking the stinky sticks. I'm glad I didn't BTW.

This is how e-cigs evolved in my life. My brother bought a $150 Green Smoke kit way back in the spring of this year. He showed it to me and let me use it for a few days but I really didn't care for it but several weeks after taking one of his Green Smoke home to show my wife she asked me about it again and said she'd like to try using these things to help her quit. Sooooo the journey began. I read and read and read as much info as I could find on the net and found the Blu and thought hell for that price compared to the Green Smoke we just had to give it a try so I bought a Blu start up kit for her and she loved it. So then after 2 or 3 weeks of watching her and seeing some of the issues with it I figured it was time for me to take the plunge. I had now seen the Green Smoke and the Blu but I thought it would be wise to research even more and that's when I found ECF. OMG!!! I spent days and days reading and lurking. My head literally hurt! This is when I almost gave up and walked away but I stuck with it and pulled the trigger on a Joye 510 kit based on everything I was reading on here. The day I got it in the mail was when my wife tried it and said OMG!!! Thus I lost my first e-cig to her instantly. It blew her Blu out of the water in every way. I ordered her a pink 510 kit that night and a week later I had mine back and we were finally on our happy e-cig way. However I still felt I was missing something so I bought a SB with some LR atties. It scared the chit out of the wife when she saw it. lol (Not for her)
Even though she was VERY happy and content I snagged an Ego on sale for her to kinda let her have a mini SB experience like I was enjoying. (Read longer battery life and better vape) Once I saw her Ego I just HAD to have one of those awesome little critters because it filled the gap I had between my very portable but lacking 510 and my monster sledge hammer SB.
The Ego IMHO was the perfect blend of both worlds FOR ME. Is it right for everyone? Hell no! But I would guess it would be for at least 50% of the folks. Does that mean anyone should push it onto any noob? Hell no!

So... With ALL that said. lol
I don't recommend ANYTHING to "noobs" here on ECF (except for once). But I WILL share my advise based on my limited experience. My advise to noobs (depending on there criteria) is simple.
You want something close the the size/look of an analog? Get a 510 starter kit
You want suggestions for a solid no BS PV that fits in your pocket and has decent battery life? Get an Ego
You like tinkering and want a new hobby? Then dive in and buy as many Top loading/ Side loading / Hydromatic systematic / Greased lightning SB / Buzz / mods as you can afford. And don't forget to pick up some PTB while your out.

IMHO the bottom line is this. The more VARIED responses and recommendations these "Noobs" get the better equipped with knowledge they are to start off with the right PV for their needs. Think back to when you first found ECF folks. Well except back in the rotary dial days of you really old timers. lol This place is overwhelming and to just cut to the chase IS what most of these "noobs" are looking for. Don't ram YOUR perfect PV in their face. Just share you personal experiences.

Yep... that pretty much says what needs to be said...

The eGo cartel kind of reminds me of the "one size fits all" mentality in clothing which I find amazingly humorous, largely because NOTHING that is one size fits all has ever fit me at all, and most people it fits rather poorly in that it's not a perfect fit... "One size fits all" should have actually been coined as "this compromise will probably do for most people".

To convey that there is such a thing as a "one size fits all" PV is crazy... walk into ANY gas station and look at all the brands of cigarettes... each one has a unique flavor and draw... and people can be VERY picky about getting the RIGHT brand... yet we assume that all goes out the window with PVs...

This is about spreading awareness, and it's worth getting it right.
