Hi there, I just got my ecig off www .miniciggy.com, I have no idea what model it is, and was hoping someone could identify it. It's longer than a normal superking ciggy, and has a hole on the atomiser for air. Looks like the one on the link, but without the miniciggy logo.

It's got quite a good nicotine rush, but it coats my mouth with a disgusting molten plastic aftertaste that makes me want to throw up. I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong! The cartridge has the same smell too. Can anyone advise me on what to do? Cheers!

Hey hahsluhar,

You have a DSE901, so any supplier that carries that ECigarette will be able to help supply you with parts.

Now, on to the burnt plastic taste. Did you suck the cartridge completely dry? Or do you happen to see any browning of the filling of the cartridge?

It can also be a bad atomizer. I had one a couple weeks ago, that just smoked a horrible plastic taste. I tried different flavors, washing, etc... and nothing worked! I concluded it was the atomizer itself and no liquids.

So, check the cart first. Make sure you have 1)Liquid in it 2) that its not burnt

Let me know your findings!

Hi Cashmere, thanks for the quick reply. I bought the starter pack off the site, and it came with 10 cartridges and one "blank" that was connected to the e-cig. I took off the blank one, and plugged one of the cartridges. It should be brand new. There was no burn on it, and I tried cleaning it with cotton buds and bit of water, to no avail.

Then I tried another one of the cartridges, and on opening it, I found that this was where the foul odour was coming from. It seems to me that its the cartridges, not the e-cig. Both the cartridges don't seem empty, there's a bit of cotton wool stuffed inside them, with liquid. Is that how they're supposed to be? The smell is really horrible, with an acrid sort of urine + alcohol + molten plastic smell. Thanks so much for your quick reply, hope you can help me out with this. I'm really looking fwd to enjoying my new ecig :D

Btw, the atomiser now also stinks of this stuff... plain water didn't get the smell out, is it ok for me to stream cold/hot tapwater through the atomiser to get it out? Thanks again!

Hmmmm....

Perhaps the cartridges are old and they soured? That is the best suggestion I can come up with. Either that or your atomizer is not up to par. Judging the bad smell right from the onset of opening the contents, my guess would be its the cartridges.

Check the suppliers forum for a supplier near you that may be able to help get you some new cartridges or some ELiquid.

Other then that, running hot/warm water with a splash of vinegar may help decrease the taste. Make sure to let it completely dry. Either setting out overnight or blow drying on cool heat for 10-20 minutes.

Keep us posted on the outcome!

i remember opening my first ecig cartridge, and it smelled disgusting to me,but they were actually fine...perhaps you might need to get used to the taste.

if its not that, then your atomiser might just be too dry, which can happen on rare occasions with new 901 atomisers-squeeze 2 drops of liquid from a cartridge directly into the atomiser, then replace cartridge and smoke as normal.

if that doesnt work, contact your supplier and get replacement parts and carts...or try the methods Cashmeres given you.

I just got 50 high strength carts from miniciggy today which are a different design to the last lot I ordered (got a dark brown end that goes in the atomiser) First thing i noticed was a mouth full of liquid (not nice) second thing I noticed was they last only half as long as previous carts.

I've just done the same and my first cart didn't seem to work. I was on the point of 'phoning the guy (he's really good on the 'phone BTW) to complain but thought I'd try another cart just in case. This one works fine with loads of vapour a truely 'magic ciggy' moment.

I had the same problem with carts from Janty. Replace the carts. You will also need to clean your atomizer to get the taste out of it. Try soaking it in an alchohol based mouthwash for an hour or so. Blow it out. Twist some tissue so it can reach the atomizer and get as much liquid as possible off it. Add a couple of drops of juice to the atomizer and let is sit 30 minutes. There still may be some mouthwash on the atomizer so it may take a little time to get it smoking correctly. Half a dozen good puffs should do it.

I got one last week, now it is not working light in tip on all the time cannot suck on it does nothing, but was impressed when it did work. Unfortunately cannot find a link to anyone to complain or get a refund. Have ordered another, fool I may be but i did find it a good buy. When i first lit it I could not distinguish what the taste was, eventually I remembered it reminded me of herbal cigs. I have tried in the past. Did not like it in beginning but then got used to it. Hope the next one lasts longer, but would like a come back site !!!

Cash, does a brown cart mean it's burnt?

I know I'm not cash, but I'm pretty sure that may just be build up of the different particulates from the liquid you are using. If it was burned, you'd definitely know (ie melted or burned together strands from core, the smell, etc.) Just my $0.02.

Mine taste funny if they go thru that stinking cleaning process, and I find washing, and redripping cures it with lots of work, about half hour puffing....otherwise toss it and replace. Your choice:oops:

I would also like a come-back site. I bought an extra ciggy for my husband when I bought the starter kit but 6 weeks later both have had to be replaced. Is this all the life span they have? We were quite happy with them but will go back to tobacco again.
It states that it's not a smoking cessation aid but they're wrong. If the product had worked for a longer period, I could have given up smoking for good

Going to offer some advice on a few things.

First, I have yet to get a pre-filled cart with a starter kit that tasted good. It's to the point that now I just pull the filler out, throw it away and put some new in and fill with my own juice. Also, you need to make sure you get the primer out of a new atty before you use it. I blow mine out really good, use a little piece of tissue to soak up any that is left in there and then prime with my own juice. This usually helps a lot and I dont get that nasty primer taste.

Second, on the 901, the batteries really do not last that long. They seem to wear out quick. If you are wanting to stick with the 901 I suggest getting a battery mod or a passthru or else you will just stay aggravated with the whole thing.

Third, If I had known better I would have bought a 510 from the beginning. I have had mine for a moth and have yet to have any problems with it at all. Still using the original atty and batteries. I have spares, but haven't had to use them as of yet.

Fourth, order a few bottles of juice. You should always keep some around to top off your carts and it tastes a lot better than the pre-filled carts.

It has only been 6 weeks. Don't give up yet. You just haven't found the right ecig and juices for you and your hubby. Keep reading the forum and asking questions and you will figure out what is best for you. If I can help in any way just send me a PM and I'll do whatever I can to help you!

just wantin to put my ten pence in if i can. i too bought a miniciggy starter kit, from minnyciggy.com my opinion: absolute tripe. i havent tried any other kits as of yet, but if this short battery and atty life is accepted amongst the vaping community i shall return to smoking im afraid. another thing, after i tried filling the cart myself, i did away with the prefilled ones. the flavour was much better, as was the consistancy. any info people could add would be appreciated
