Oh you mean by canned replies and not by real engineers. Yes this is true.

How does a canned reply send a custom Mac firmware file?

I think that is awesome GV recognizes there are Mac users. It is awesome they participate in these forums. It is even more awesome they are willing to honor a warranty for a device that was not purchased through a authorized dealer. Not many companies, be it vape gear or other go that far!

I can’t answer that. Never used the GBOX so I have no reference. 5 public release’s, if there is fact to that, tells me that Geekvape actually cares and are doing their best to rectify what ever problem has occurred. We can’t say the same for many other companies that don’t even bother with updates.
The original firmware for the Aegis 100W was just ok for TC. The other 4 releases only made TC worse. Here is what I recall.

Firmware Download

https://www.geekvape.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/GB28-20171107-1420-V1.24.7z

v1.21
~~~~~
1. Resistance lock lost
V1.23a Oct 18th, 2017
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. NEW/OLD Coil question optimized
2. Sleep Mode changed from 2 mins to 10 mins
3. Temperature Control slightly improved
4. Resistance lock added

v1.24 2018-02-27
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Optimized 10s overtime safety feature.
2. Modify Fahrenheit adjustment unit, from 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
3. Added Stealth mode, press and hold the 3 keys simultaneously for 2s to enter or exit the Stealth mode.
4. Version number changed to 1.24
I'm missing one of them.
They care? Why is it getting worse and worse then? How is this caring? The GBOX chipset and firmware was perfect, then they turned around and destroyed everything later. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. :(
I think it is great they support Mac users too. But how do they support my two Legends sitting on my shelf? How do they fix the problems with TC? I don't think they can frankly. They used too, but not anymore. Someone got fired, left, or laid off or something and they lost it.
A mac version was not available and they provided it to him, they worked well in his case.
Just chill, we all know apple users bring it up somewhere in the conversation, just like vegans, but don't escalate it :smokie:
It is just day after day there is mostly praises while I am watching Geek Vape go downhill everyday. Then they say there are more complains than praises, which is totally not true. And absolutely nobody is doing nothing about it. It is like watching a sinking ship and people are singing how wonderful the cool water feels. I just finally got tired of all of this and tell people to snap out of it and wake up. Geek Vape really needs to get like they once were. :)
I didn’t bring it up to brag I had an Apple. I brought it up solely to reassure you that GV will, help you out. I’m out of here.
I for one appreciate your efforts in trying to assist and even learned something from your comments. Well done sir. :thumb:
It’s a shame when members try to put forth great efforts to assist someone in need only to have the thread crapped on. Constant negative comments does not help and is off topic. When threads get derailed, moderators lock them and no body benefits.
I've seen a lot of complaints, you have to look at the internet as a whole, not just a couple of forums or "top" reviewers. That's why I'm still looking for a mod, I ended up just buying another mechanical, since I couldn't find an APV I liked.
I actually have read countless posts about battery life being awful, that's been the major complaint from what I've seen. I haven't seen a lot about TC, except people saying GV TC is okay, followed by if you want great TC go DNA.
The main thing I have read is that GV has great support and will repair/replace a device if under warranty or defective from factory. I've also seen people say they have fixed their devices out of warranty, so I dunno. The only thing I have is the GV flask, lol.
I'm sorry, i understood his point from the beggining, unlike "sdennislee". I was just trying to be funny. Really thank you for trying to help me.
The comment was not directed to you. It couldn’t be more obvious a Mac computer is not needed to perform a FW update on this specific mod so I fail to understand the context of some of the comments here unless the objective is to derail the thread – in which case it would not have benefit you or anyone else who maybe taking value out of the actual topic at hand, which is discussing possible resolutions for a failed update.
Good luck in finding a solution. Perhaps you can report back once a resolution has been found, even it is a RMA for it could benefit others who may have a similar problem to yours.
Thank you for your help but there's something you didnt't understood. When i insert the batteries the mod does not turn on, no matter what i do it doesn't turn on or show any information on the screen.
It should not turn on when you put batteries in. That is normal. You have to turn it on after putting batteries in by clicking fire button 5 times
First of all, despite only have 3 mods, all of them automaticaly turn on when i insert the batteries, i guarantee you that is what happens in most mods.
Second, don't you think i've tried to turn it on every way possible? It does not work.
I believe that it doesn't work as I figured you had tried turning it on. I was going only on the wording that it doesn't come on when batteries are inserted.
Yes a lot of mods turn on when batteries are inserted. The Aegis Legend does not turn on that way though. Inserting batteries in the Legend doe not automatically turn it on.
**UPDATE**
Original problem: Mod would not turn on after the firmware upgrade.
Alright, you're free to call me a stupid dumb, i really am.
I was about to contact the seller and decided to upgrade the firmware one last time hoping it would turn on and i finnaly realized what i was doing wrong.
When the the upgrade screen shows up and i click the "start" button, the bar takes a while to start loading. I was doing the mistake of pressing the start button more than once. No error message appeared or nothing of that kind and the upgrade would be succecefull completed, supposedly.
So people, take care, even a little mistake like that can mess up a firmware upgrade.
Thank you all who replied and tried to help, it's all good now, i love this mod.:rickroll:
I was excited to receive my Aegis Legend back in June 2018 from an online retailer. The rugged looks and water resistant design was just what I needed for poolside vaping; however, my enjoyment didn't last long. First, the battery door button dropped off, followed by a failure of the latch holding the battery door closed. The Legend is now useless. I had hoped for better from this mod. I also learned another valuable lesson - buying a mod online can introduce problems in returning defective merchandise. I recently purchased a mod from a local brick and mortar store for about $14.00 more than its best online price. Within days I realized that the mod I had purchased was very uncomfortable due to its sharp corners. The local store took it back without question and allowed me to select another mod. The few dollars extra in buying local is a reasonable investment when purchasing an expensive device.
In my country vaping is growing as everywhere else i guess, but some essential stuff like mods, tanks, liquids and nicotine are expensive and i can get it from overseas a lot cheaper most of the times, sometimes with a bit of risk, sometimes not.
IMO there's 3 things to look at when buying from online retailers, especially from asia:
-The price difference from your local stores; It doesn't make sense to wait 1 or 2 months to save a couple dollars.
-The return/warranty policy of the online store/seller;
-Only make risky purchases when you're willing to lose that money; for example, a coilmaster kit v2 costs around 50€/60€ in local stores around here. I found it for about 11€ on a chinese online store. To be honest i didn't think it would be the real thing but i was willing to lose a bit of money to see, and it turned out to be an official coilmaster kit.
