I gotta say I'm enjoying this atty more and more. I haven't had any more issues with the barrel coming unscrewed when putting the atty on a mod and I'm enjoying the flavor. It's not better than my Tugboat V2 with SC but its' still pretty darn good. I haven't tried removing the o-ring yet like Mr.Mann did but like cheesestain I have had some leaking. There's no real discernible cause for it either. I brought it to work with me the other night and dripped a bit shortly after getting there. I noticed some leaking, cleaned the bottom of the atty and top of the mod and then put it back on. Didn't leak for the rest of the night and I've no idea why I did at first and didn't later on. I think I'll take off the o-ring later and try it that way for the next couple of days while I'm off.

Just unscrewed mine to check and there is some juice on the 510, not inside of it but just on the surface of the 510? Maybe its from unscrewing the barrel and screwing it back on? It's kind of strange because there's no leakage evident until you unscrew the atty, it looks like it gathers underneath the atty only on the surface of the 510..weird. Maybe the deck screws have come a bit loose from use (heating up and cooling back down?) I'll try retightening them next time I rewick if I can get to them with the coils on there and see what happens. I might just rip the coils out and try a new build on it anyway as i'm still running my initial build haven't experimented much because it was working so well. Have the day off though so maybe good time to play with it lol

@cheesestain did you try tightening the screws on the deck? They recommend tightening them when you get the atty, mine seemed to be tight already though so I dunno.

@Mr.Mann I have, it happens all the time to my regular (non threaded) RDA's they somehow always end up super tight and the topcap/barrels just spin on the orings so I can't unscrew them without removing the topcap and using the posts on the deck for leverage.

Okay, fair enough. It happens to some of us and not others. I guess if it happened to me often I would think this was a godsend, but to me this is completely unnecessary. I should start reading and paying more attention to the specs of atomizers more so that I don't have to get all pissy about "features" that are wildly unappealing to me.

@bluehaze013 , let me ask you this, as I am slighlty conusfesd about it. If this atty was to get torqued donw too tightly onto your mod, would it come off the top cap with no probelm becasue of the reverse threading, or would you just be able to get the barrel off easier?

Anywho, one thing I absolutely love about this atty -- I must say it again -- is the draw. I don't know why the draw is so smooth and round, but it kills the draw of The Vector! Absolutely kills it. I like The Vector way more as a whole unit, but this draw is a real treat and one that I can't say I've had better than! Flavor is good, but the draw is special.

Hmm, i'm not sure what you're asking exactly? It comes off fine, the reverse threading means unscrewing it from the atty just makes the barrel tighter to the deck if anything when removing it and mine at least doesn't come loose when screwing it back on the atty. Can take it on and off nice and easy, no spinning on the orings, nothing like that because of the threading and I always build on my mod so vice versa it's easy to get the topcap/barrel off spinning it in the other direction to build it. It's a really nice feature IMO, I like it a lot.

Like I said before i'm baffled as to why anyone wouldn't like it because it works perfectly for me. Only thing I can think of is that the threading is knackered on their mods if its that tight screwing the atty on that the barrel unscrews before the atty can tighten down on the mod. I mean on mine, it takes some force to break it loose to unscrew the barrel, i don't think I would be able to do it without having it tight to a mod or ohm meter or something like that.

I'll make a video of mine. Know that I actually edited that part out of my post but due to how the new forum software saves previous information, I unwittingly posted that.

I tried it out on my a couple mods (brand new SX Mini and a new Jkuro Mod -- no knackered out threads there) and it works fine to screw it off (I can see how that would alleviate a problem when an atty is overly tightened on a mod), but screwing back on the mod proves to be less successful. As soon as the top cap feels a tiny bit of resistance toward the bottom of being tightened down, it unscrews itself since it is going against its own threading. Once that happens the only way to get it tightened down again is to grip the posts -- but if a build is on it then, well. No bueno. I think I mentioned it before, but I love how The Vector accomplishes this same thing without causing issues. Sealed as all get out and the juice well can be extended.

Sorry about the terrible, bootleg-quality of the video. My only goal here was to show what I am talking about. Now, I guess I could stop short of the atty being tightened down all the way, but I don't do gaps. I try putting it on slowly, quickly, with little force and with torque. Same results across the board. Gap! And that is why I don't like the "feature."

Once again, I think it's awesome that others either don't mind gaps or aren't having the same problem, but for those that don't have the atty I felt they should know what they could end up with. I wonder though if this would be a problem on a direct-connection mod? Do you use one of those? On a few other devices it goes down a little further, but it teeters due to how long the 510 is.

Have you called Syntheticloud? I would send it back and ask for a proper one. Mine works fine, it takes some force to remove the barrel even after i've removed it and put it on other mods back and forth and it never comes loose. I don't think removing that oring is a solution to the problem only looks like it compounds it as its going to come loose easier without the oring. Not sure if I have the stuff to do it but i'll see if I can make a video of mine working properly tonight.

Yes. They told me to take of the o-ring for the first problem (after linking me to the video that I had tried; the one where you add water to the o-ring), and for the other issue they said "sorry you are having trouble." I haven't said anything else though they did say "if you have any more problems, let us know." But I had already let them know.

It's just one for those things, I guess. I waited for about a month for this atty (pre-order) and I do love the draw of it and the look of it, so I got no reason to hate. Sometimes standards and expectations can kill the experience. As crazy as this may sound based on my gripes, I do like it, but I doubt I keep it. My new desire for draw will be based on this though. Love the smoothness of that draw! Nothing short of amazing.

So why not call them and send it back for a replacement then? What is your serial number? Maybe they shortened the pin on the later versions. If you don't want to go through all that I would just break out some sandpaper lay it on a flat surface and run the atty over it a few times to shorten the pin, problem solved, it seems like its only coming loose because you're over tightening it trying to get the atty to sit flush which just isn't going to happen if that centerpin is too long for your mod it's just physically impossible lol

Past 48 hours; no exceptions on a return. It's cool, but I am not sanding it. But note: the atty sits flush as long as I screw it down via the post (as seen in the video). So it's possible, juts not by holding the reverse threaded barrel. I'll likely sell it at a clone-ish type price. No biggie.

Serial # 0503

Vape on. Vape well.

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way but, have any of you with problems with the barrel actually thought of tightening down the base HARD to your mod then screwing on the barrel?

For the few hours that I did own the aeolus v2, all I did was torque the base down into my mod pretty hard, then screw the barrel on. No problems whatsoever.

That is the way to do it. At least initially. But I am one that likes to change mods and atties for various reasons throughout the day. I had no problem getting the cap on, but it was when I take off the atty from one mod and then try to put it back on another that the problem arose. That said, I figured out how to alleviate this problem I was having. I have to apply downward pressure on the atty to keep the top from unscrewing itself and as soon as it's flush, I have to stop exactly at that moment and not a moment after or it's backing off. Problem sorta solved by babying it, but it's not secure like how I want. If I look at it wrong it will unscrew itself. But at least it doesn't look like some janky $15 atty with an unsightly gap.

I picked one up yesterday myself, got the SS version. I'm also dealing with some issues, which brought me here to this thread (should of came here before buying it, lol).

The reverse threading is definitely a PITA and a bother. I'm going to mess with it more today when I get home from work... See if I can get it to sit flush.

The other issue (which I haven't heard anyone in here mention) is the post screw length. The screws aren't even long enough to close the post holes off all the way. It leaves a gap when the screws are all the way tightened down. I tried to build a 24 gage coil on it the day I picked it up... Got the coils all made and installed, went to tighten the negatives down, and with the screw all the way down, the coils will slide right out! I was like WTF! Anyone have this issue with theirs? Do all your screws tighten all the way down? Or did I just get super "lucky".
