I have a 24g build in my black one right now. No problem with the screws.

Yeah, I actually just got off the phone with the maker. He said I need to just keep screwing the screws down with no wire in it until the top of the screw head touches the top of the post. You gotta kinda fight through the resistance the screw is giving off when it gets down to the end since the screws are custom made. I was just super worried when I tried it last night since I don't have money for high end .... like I used to... Didn't wanna ruin the thing.

The threads on the sleeve seem to be loosening up a bit too. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

Decided to rebuild after all, threw some claptons on there tonight and man she vapes like crazy so much flavor.. I really hate new wire though, no matter what I do, cleaned it in alcohol, dry burned and everything but when the cotton starts to run dry always get that metal taste until the coils break in..it's a really nice vape though, can't wait for this build to break in. Seems like she's got plenty of airflow to handle bigger builds and the deck is so easy to build on, I really should have taken my time, you can rebuild this thing in like 2 mins easy..lol

Yeah, I got fused claptins in mine right now as well. Gonna rebuild tonight though anyway. Think I'll throw some royal wire in it. You got those coils sitting up way higher than mine, but this was my first build on it.... I'm gonna sit the coils up higher on this next build and see how much better the vape is. Give more room for juice as well before the coils are floating in it.

This is how it works for me..

This is one of the cooler features of this atty and one that is rare to find. The negative posts have (what I think are called bottom taps?) and the post hole stops at the bottom and is not hollow. It's not optimal for wires to be trapped in hollow posts as the connection will not be firmly "grounded" and it can snap thinner wires (even with rounded or tapered screws) with little to no effort. Kudos to SC for this feature!

Yeah, I hate when attys snap wire. These screws are definitely nicer than stock old coil snappers, and function like a good hex screw in a way, but without needing a extra tool.

I'm glad they threw in a few extras as well. I never understood high end attys that didn't come with extra screws and o-rings.

I don't understand when high end attys don't come with a drip tip.

I like the way you think. It would be a nice world to live in if every atty came with a DT. A metal one, and delrin one. Only usually see that when it's a "chuff" style DT that's a special size just for the atty.

Shoot, the dotmod atty is a $100 and doesn't even come with one of there custom drip tips.... That will set you back another $25.

Oh I know. And I'm a sucker and I'm gonna get the dotmod DT when I order my Petri because they look sooooo nice together.

I don't know if atties should come with a tip or not (though it would be awesome), but I REALLY do not understand how effin' tips cost a 1/4 of the entire atty!

Because they know we're a sucker for shinny things... Man, I once bought a drip tip for $35!! Maybe it was $30, can't fully remember. I had a weird feeling when I was buying it too... Like "what the heck am I doing".

Yea, I build them up pretty much even with the top of the posts and all the way out close to the barrel. It works awesome. Can drop a whole dripperfull in there without overdripping lol

I love those tips, just got another one in the mail today and i'm looking to get one of the baby friction fit now as well they are smaller but still wide enough to easily drip through.

So I got this Aeolus to sit perfectly flush on a mech mod. What I did was replace the bottom deck o-ring with one that's smaller/thinner than original. It still has some resistance while screwing the sleeve onto the deck, so hopefully it's enough to keep it from leaking out the base area. I'll drop some pictures bellow.

One thing about the atty is when it's sitting flush on a mod, you can no longer keep turning it clockwise to screw the sleeve off like it was designed too since the outer sleeve is touching the top of the mod and the deck is actually sitting above the sleeve. Screwing it clockwise while flush will force the outer sleeve tighter onto the top of the mod (I think, didn't wanna force it since I could just unscrew the atty from the mod like normal). I think that's why under normal conditions the sleeve is a little bit above the base of the atty... If it wasn't, the reverse threading wouldn't work correctly.

I always build on a ohm reader, and the one I have has a 510 popping out from the reader so when the atty is screwed on, the deck never touches the top of the ohm reader.

When I want to take the atty off the mod, I just take the top cap of the mech mod off, and unscrew the atty like all normal attys. this probably will not function the same way for box mods with stiff spring loaded 510's.

Atty sitting flush as can be.

O-ring comparison to the stock o-ring. I have a ton of o-rings laying around from past vape gear (I never throw an o-ring away), and I've been vaping for 3+ years so I got a lot. Not sure the exact size, but I believe this came from a AGT titanium genesis atomizer. It was a 18mm atty (or around that).

Picture of the ohm reader I use with the popped up 510 which allows me to screw the sleeve all the way down, which makes the sleeve sit a bit bellow the deck, assisting in making the atty sit flush on the top of the mech mod when screwed in.
