Yes that spring inside the GG will compress totally and then you are squeezing the battery and or pushing the center post of the atty causing a possible short. So we need to be very careful not to tighten it down too much. When I put the Noalox on the threads of the telescopic part it makes it feel tight and keeps it from wiggling about so much. I would suggest everyone get a tube of that stuff. It works wonders for this mod especially.

I was doing the same as Stormy, but because the bottom section still felt like it had play in it, I evidently would tighten too much, I will get some Noalox to kill the play and pay closer attention. It very well could have been that the center posts of the atties were not as secure as they should be, but since they all appear to be pushed up, I will minimize tightening from here on.

Try changing it out with one from an ink pen.... Unscrew the top from the bottom of the button and make a new spring the same length as the one inside...

Yip i'll give that a go cheers, it's my only gripe with the GGTS, and i know i'm being picky and button tension is a personal choice, apart from this i think it's the best e-cig out there bar none :D

Much agreed with you on the build quality of this one... much much better than anything else GG so far. I really like the way the button has been made shorter. You can lock it very quickly with only a few turns. The old button was a little longer and needed about four or five turns to lock.

Absolutely, i know Imeo had some problems with his thread guy but i have to say he did one hell of a job, kudos to the thread guy (don't bash him to much next time Imeo he's a good one ;) )

He is really the best one when he deside to work. You know how some guys are. They are very clever but lazy too.

well I got a few more AFS atties from ROB today... it would have been here weds. but the Snow storm we had brought the Post Office to a stand still. Anyway great package ROb and I'm loving your e-liquid I cant get enough of it.

Now that I have the new atties I figured out that the best way to use this is to only allow air through the 901 air hole. The reason for this is this AFS was made for the GGT. So I took vapen's advice and blocked all the air holes including the center post on the GGTS. Then I adjusted the AFS exactly as Imeo did on his Final AFS video (check out Cloud 9 final AFS video). That is the best way to do it.

Once you get your atties add a few drops of liquid and allow it to sit for few mins. Then add one more drop. Take a rag and then block all holes and blow out the attie. The reason I say this is because it helps unblock the lazer hole and it cleans out any metal left from the making of the lazer hole. Then put the AFS together. Once together add one or two drops of liquid onto the attie to prevent over heat and then take a few puffs to prime the AFS.

After that it should vape like a dream... :)

Very nice description there grimmer.... you can actually pull the AFS down until it almost hits the gg because even though the air hole is covered by the bottom cap it still breaths. There is just enough gap between the cap and the atty to allow air to flow. I use mine in this way and it works great. Plus the look of the whole unit without a gap between the GG and AFS is a good look. I say no gap but there is actually a TINY one.

Hey vapen I would bring it down a little further But I'm afraid the liquid might get into the 901 air hole. But you are right it does look really good all the way down. but to make sure I will keep it just like Imeo did in the video.

But what I will do is adjust the AFS little by little until I see that it is okay with lower placement. Just want to be on the safe side... atties are expensive. :) The last time I did this I went to fast with adjustments. So taking it slow this time will help me get a good feel of the AFS.

Fabulous AFS tips, Grimmer. Good plan to take small steps at a time too, so you can really get a feel for what works best for your setup. You should be fine pulling the AFS right down over the airhole too, but maybe not if you've closed all other air-ways.......

Have you had a chance to try out the new AFS atties yet? I am REALLY enjoying mine at the moment, I can't really decide which I like best, because all three provide nice varied vaping experiences. :D

Well maybe a longer one at least. I know mine is kinda short and I can tell I am bottoming it out and hitting the axis on the battery.

you mean with GGTS? spring on GGTS is useless, its only for keeping the contact if you turn AFS

We understand that the spring seems to perform no useful function in the TS, however, it is a valuable part to have in there because:
  1. it allows you to place slightly less stress on the batteries than you would if you were pushing them right against the bottom pole
  2. it allows for the extra twists or untwists you can make to align your atomiser hole just where you want it.
I know you will say that this doesn't matter on your new AFS, but it's not available yet and many people are using the current AFS and want this functionality. :p
The reason Vapn mentions that he'd like a longer spring is that it is required to make proper contact with 2 x CR2 in the TS with all sections intact on the device.
