Both my ego manuals, automatics and 510's have all of sudden started taking 12 hours to charge, and last a couple hours compared to the previously "2 hours to charge" lasting 12 hours...

Is it my charger or have I just run these batteries dry....? Also if it's my charger do you think buying a new charger would fix the problem or are my batteries toast because of it.

Highly unlikely the batteries went bad in 2 months. The only thing I can think of that would do that would be a bad atty shorting the batteries (I've had that happen before).

So either:

1. The charger is going bad?

or

2. You are increasing your vaping habits or increasing the draw and using up more of the battery life throughout the day.

Mine last about 5 or 6 hours. I've never had one last 12...

Do you own or have access to a multimeter/voltmeter?

It might be worth checking the voltage of the charger; it could be overcharging the batteries. I had a KR808D charger that was charging my batteries to 4.5V!!!!! The batteries were starting die quicker and quicker before I figured it out, by which time they were pretty much toast.

You have to keep in mind a lot of this stuff is cheaply made with minimal (if any) quality control.

Egos cut off at 3.92v (the military spec) because the military ran a test on battery life that found significantly better charge cycle life from Li-Ions if they were capped at 3.92v.

I'd suspect the charger if multiple batteries are failing at 2 months. If you use the same atty on all, check the resistance of the coil. Two months is too soon. I got about six months out of my first Ego batt and the second one is beginning to have short life at 10 months of use.

You always want to have at least 3 batts around. If one dies, you still have 2 to rotate. Otherwise, you are stuck with a pass-through while charging...
