When people start out wanting to learn rba's, most people say they should start with an RSST because it's the easiest to work with. Wouldn't you say it's the AGA-T2? I always thought this was way easier to build on. It's the only RBA I have left other than a Kraken I'm looking to get rid of. Maybe I'll auto drip it. I do that with my AGA a lot.

If I were to recommend an rba to a newbie, I'd have then avoid gennys. Drippers or maybe a kayfun would be what I'd recommend.

^^my first rba ever was a genny. It made me think all rbas were gonna be that hard. Good thing I stuck it out and mastered that bugger. On top of it all it was a really poorly made clone that shorted due to no fault of my own. It's a miracle I got that thing running. But I'm so glad I did. Some times I pull it back out for farts and laughter.

Gennys are easy if you use cotton for wick. RSST is the easiest thing I've seen to do a single coil on.

True but that kinda defeats the purpose of a genny IMHO.

Ok

I thought the purpose was to make vapor. Mine does, a lot. And when I clog up the cotton with dark juices, I can toss it in the trash and put in some more for less than pennies. I have some mesh, but no torch. Someday I'll try it.

You don't need a torch to set up mesh. I just soak my wicks in my least favorite juice and set them on fire. Repeat once or twice. Some people don't torch or juice burn at all.

Correct. The greater purpose is to make vapor, but the more specific purpose is to make vapor heated from a vertical SS mesh wick. That's why the tank is designed in the way that it is. But I'm sure you knew that and at the end if the day I'm not trying to argue with you. The whole point here is to avoid tobacco and if you like cotton in your genny then go right ahead. I just happen to be an advocate for mesh (but I got love for cotton too!).

Thank you for the reply. I just received mine today and put 1.1 ohm build on it. It's a solid atomizer and it reminds me of the Fogger V4.

The things I really like about it are the top fill screw, dual coils and that it is a relatively easy build. The glass tank is nice being that you don't have to worry about any tank cracking juices. It has a great build quality as you would expect from Youde and threads smoothly and evenly.

What I don't like about it is cosmetic. Let's be honest, it's ugly. It's also a polished finish which doesn't match any of my mods except for my Poldiac. I also wonder what would happen with just a single coil. Looking at the design, I think there would be some leaking issues.

Solid first Kayfun style tank from Youde though.

Top coil seems to get dirtier... Maybe winding it with one less coil or next gauge up wire to reduce the ohmage a tad would let it burn a little hotter and keep it cleaner..?

I would guess the reason is less direct airflow to the top coil.

I think I'd try smaller ID coils.

But really, after 3 days, how many tank fulls was that? If you went through 3 or 4 tanks, that's not so bad.

Got mine today... along with another RSST —this time a 510, my other one is a Magneto RSST Hybrid with a cracked tank!

After not reading the minuscule instruction leaflet I coiled and wicked it all wrong! Built my first ever sub-ohm coil at 0.6Ω. Actually, I had two 28ga coils ready on a pair of toothpicks, calculated at 2.0Ω each, with 4mm long leads, I mounted them in parallel over the air hole, meaning parallel, little post to tall post! Then wicked with cotton looking somewhat like a swastika <LOL!> after mesuring resistance (alarmingly low, the coils are literally in contact with the posts, virtually no legs!) and looking at them fr some ten minutes, I separated them to completely clear the air hole and put a cotton donut around the perimeter.

After assembling the chimney and tank, I spent some other ten minutes looking everywhere for the fill plug without being able to figure if it had fallen to the floor and, not being able to find it, I decided to use a little piece of duct tape after filling. It was not until I attempted to put some liquid inside that the lightbulb connected... So that was the little Allen screwdriver for! Finally, I took it out, filled, the allen plug went through the mouthpiece hole, had to disassemble, lost 3/4 of my juice (the last of my Halo Turkish Tob), retrieved the plug from the cotton bed, reassembled (over the sink) washed the exterior and refilled. Not it seemed like it was finally gonna work... Topped my Sigelei W20 with fresh Sony NCR18650PF batt and sucked. Shut airholes and the ring wouldn't budge. Finally, after loosening the bottom and middle sections I managed to fully open them. BIG mistake! I almost choked to death on 0 nic juice!!! Finally, I closed them about halfway and now... It's TERRIFIC!!

The clouds are like a big wet bonfire. Thick and full of taste and aroma. I don't know if my goofed buid has anything to do, the air hole points cleanly between the coils and the cotton bed is holding like 1ml of juice. I'm impressed. I doubt I'll open it for pictures (still traumatized by the ordeal) but eventually I'll do it.

Next time I'll do a more conventional build and aim for 1.0Ω. :vapor::vapor::vapor:

PS,
«Any ideas».

Mine only gurgled when I tried it with the air ports closed (and ugly)Try the cotton donut and open the air ports fully. Lift the coils to let a good air flow.

PPS, It's a BEAST! Hits like a runaway train...
