Age verification

I understand the age verification on manufactures websites, but to enter a birth date to view a website and or product is way too much. You can just use a disclaimer really.
I can click yes or no, but I click X when i'm asked my birth date...

They way I see it, they're just trying to cover their backsides when asking for age verification. As everyone knows, it's not going to stop an underage person from visiting the site anyway. A disclaimer may be adequate, but some form of user input acknowledges that the person is actually aware of any restrictions imposed.

A big hookah site had MasterCard cut them off and now you have to send a picture of yourself with your id to place an order.

I forget which vendor did this, but they asked me to send me a photo of my drivers license to them before they shipped it. I sent it on a Monday morning and the package was out by the afternoon. They linked it to my account so I never have to show proof of it again. I thought that was awesome! They were doing the right thing IMHO.
Now that I think of it, I think this is required by law in the state of New York. But still....I had no problem with it.

I think eventually this will be standard procedure if they don't take away online ordering. I won't have a problem with them having my DL on file. Just keep online ordering an option!
