I mixed up 1/3 Shipwreck 1/3 Pineapple Cream & 1/3 Coconut Dream and vaped it in my old school Stillare rda on top of my very first tube. The Brass King. I built a set of 26ga 4 wraps each @ .233ohms...The result was amazing flavor and a fogged up living room.
I was feeling nostalgic for the cloud chucking days I guess.

What is that on the walls? It looks a little like they were cemented and someone drew in them with a stick (the way one does with freshly poured sidewalks.) Very cool looking.

I'm stuck on pure apple all day, in a variety of different setups. The IPV4s came in today, so trying Crown SS316 coils in watt mode vs. Ti in temp control vs. regular old kanthal drip atty. And at all different kinds of settings to see what gives me the best flavor.
Sorry if I brought everyone down! I'm just so glad it's over.
Now, what's everyone vaping today? I was stuck on mint all weekend but have ventured into Alton today.

Those are known as Textured Ceilings Done with real thick mud and a long bristled round brush on a long handle. Cool to watch them apply the gooey looking white mud and apply their skills. A PITA to paint! lol

I'm fortunate I suppose. I found the coils I build are perfect for Ahlusion. I too experimented with VW and always found the flavors peaked right at 20watts. From there they seem to just loose something.
That .233ohm coil I built was vapor overload and at 70vg, exactly what I expected. That's why I used the boldest flavors I had. PC, CD, and Shipwreck.
Wanna guess what one was the prominent flavor?

Thank you, Sirius. It does appear that I have shingles; thus far no rash.

Gosh PennyLynn, I hope you are feeling better, and I really hope you do not get the shingles virus. I've been there and done that, zero fun.

That's one heckuva plume of vapor you have going there! That's awesome that you have found your personal Nirvana.

No matter how satisfied I think I am, curiosity always compels me to try out new things. Fortunately 3 years of experience has at least tempered that from trying the smallest new incremental changes, to now waiting for much larger technological changes. I have finally succumbed to the temptation to give Sub-ohm and temperature control a try. The prices have plummeted to the point where it made sense to at least.. (inspired by Mr. Mann) test the waters. After mere hours of intense and concentrated toying with different setups, I have FINALLY reached an earth shattering conclusion! I enjoy vaping.

BUT, maybe even more importantly, I have made a few observations along the way. Firstly (I hate that word, why do I use it?) More vapor CAN be more flavor. But not necessarily (but you already knew this @Sirius ).

Also, what I THOUGHT I knew about the relationship between watts and ohms has been stood on it's ear. Lower Ohms need HIGHER watts? Counter intuitive for me, but there it is. A 2 ohm coil is great at 10 watts, but a .5 ohm coil wants 40.

Temp control IS the shiznit. I think this wick at 400F max COULD last my lifetime. It has only been hours, so I might be wrong about that, but after 10ml it still looks brand new.

Sub-Ohm vaping does NOT make sense with Kanthal, if you have a powerful regulated mod. With Ti, Ni200, and S.S., it is inevitable. There is not enough room in an atty to get out of it.

The Crown is not expensive, until you start using it.

Titanium coils can rejuvenate gear you thought was obsolete. Do NOT trust reviews of products and suggested wattage, without knowing what equipment was being used (A review of the Crown suggested 80 watts for the .5 coil, and I almost burnt the CRAP out of a new OCC, I suspect he was using a Cloupor).

There are 250+ variations of Pure Apple, depending on your gear. Perhaps taste ISN'T as subjective as we thought, given the DRASTIC differences that different gear makes, and it isn't all just better or worse, just.. Different, sometimes. Which really drives home the point of Mr. Mann's blog which he should have posted here. I am embarrassed to be writing this paragraph AFTER reading it, as you all could have already known this part.

New battery technology MIGHT come along before needing to recharge the brand new ones you have in a dual 18650 mod with a .45ohm Ti coil @400F.

Let me save some of you a LOT of research if you decide to try Temp Control. Joules are ONLY a function of how QUICKLY your coil heats up to the set temp. After that, temp control takes over and throttles everything down to maintain the temp. If you don't have ENOUGH set, you may NEVER reach your temp. If you have too MUCH set, your atty will rattlesnake immediately, imposing the "speed limit" on your temp right outta the gate. Fast is good, so I've found that increasing the Joules to the point of instant rattlesnake, then dropping them a bit is optimum imho.

I need more high VG Ahlusion. I hope I get a feedback coupon soon.

Of all the setups I tried, the Crown is the tastiest thus far. But my GOD it gobbles VG.

If you've lived through all this, you ARE a dedicated vaper.

well I lived through it all but it occurs to me, once again, that vaping continuously takes me to a place where I have a lot to learn. I did buy a temp control Vaporshark rDNA and have just tootled around with it, mostl love the feel of it in my hand. Trying to ignore that next I have to learn about all this temp control stuff

Oooh, NICE mod!

I thank my lucky stars for having found vaping. I have had a bazillion hobbies (besides exaggerating) over my MANY years (55 to be exact). Staving off senility is a function of using ones brain to learn new things, and I have invested a FORTUNE in doing that. But by far, vaping has been the cheapest and most satisfying of them all. I am ALWAYS learning something new, and I thank you all for that, as I get inspiration here daily.

With that mod, young lady, you have an obligation to explore! If I might be SO bold as to suggest, the Crown, with an airflow I previously reviled (I'm a MTL vaper, but you can lung hit THEN MTL at the end of the vape for more flavor) comes with 3 coils, a .5ohm S.S. and a .25ohm S.S. (both useless for temp control presently, but very effective with VW) and an Ni200 coil (and nickle is already dead to me in favor of Ti).

well I bought it because I planned to learn this eventually. Also because it was the only VaporShark that had a removeable/replaceable battery. So far I have been running my Lemo on it at about 20 watts (big fat aptly stuffed 2mm coil) registered at .8 ohms. Sometimes I just roll with a TGTII at a mere 13 watts. I know I have not taken it to its full potential..I am scared.....or maybe just hate being confused about my gear and am in a nice little comfortable rut.
Do you have a link for this Crown?

In a pleasant rut lately -- Godfather with my coffee, then a rotation of Autumn Mist/Saturday Morning/Lemon Vanilla Cake. Life is good. :)

Oh, shoot, Penny! I am so sorry to hear that! I understand that shingles SUXXXXXXXX, but at least you have a proper diagnosis. Get better soon!

My best find at the moment, $29.95.

Crown Subohm Tank Authentic Uwell Subohm Tank US Seller in Stock | eBay

I have NO experience with the RBA, so I cannot comment on it but I do plan on acquiring one at some point. I am REALLY liking the properties of Ti, and UNTIL the firmware for S.S. or the price drops drastically on the OCC prebuilts, I do plan on getting one.

Best price I can find on the RBA:

RBA Coil for Crown Sub Ohm Tank RBA Coil DIY | eBay

Edit: Ti, is titanium wire. Best price and selection I have found is on Etsy from Unkamen. I'm not sure if the rDNA supports Ti wire, best to check before trying it. Worst case scenario,is you would have to use VW with it.

Interesting but I cannot find a pic of the deck. Can I rebuild it or only buy prebuilt coils?
