Actually, PG is better at carrying the flavor while VG produces more vapor.
PG is also much more dehydrating. Make sure you drink plenty of liquid to counter it.

My preferred ratio was 70PG/30VG but during season changes my allergies attack my throat and give me a dry, hacking cough. So I've shifted to 50/50 (for some reason, too much VG gives me a stomach ache.)

I have one friend who dislikes the flavor of vegetable glycerin so she gets 100% PG and there are lots of people who are allergic to PG. Outside of those extremes, it's whatever works for you and your equipment. (Ahlusion seems to recommend 50/50 for most of the liquids and I think the pre-mixed XPress line is all 50/50.)

I'm a total n00b! Thanks for that. When I reorder, I'll know better.

This whole thing is trial and error. What works for one person isn't right for another. I've tried flavors that have been highly recommended that made me go find my toothbrush. And there are others I adored that have disappeared from menus because I was apparently the only one who vaped them. I recently ended up at Ahlusion because my old juice vendor went out business. Because I dislike sucralose, I wanted a place that doesn't automatically add it. LisaR, who also used my old place and knows my taste, recommended Ahlusion. Most of my orders are still steeping but I've really liked two of the three XPress flavors I've tried. (Neither qualifies as true love but, with such a long list of flavors, I'm sure I'll find a few.)

I also hate it when people recommend kits that cost hundreds of dollars to newcomers. There are plenty of good setups that are under $50 that will let the person discover if vaping works for him or her. If it does, that's the time to start looking at the deluxe stuff.

Well my lungs can't handle a heavy load of VG. It makes my lungs feel heavy like I can't breathe very well and it makes me cough. I have vaped juice at 50/50 and done alright but I'm a mouth to lung chain vaper LOL so I try to go 40/60 but AHL doesn't offer that ratio so I choose 30/70 with them. I'm glad to know I'm not losing flavor because I can't vape high VG. I just hope those ratios work with me new equip.

GlacierBabe, if you said what your new setup is, I've already forgotten :); my apologies. At higher wattage, I prefer higher VG. I find it stands up to the heat a bit better, and at those wattages (30-40 watts on a .48 coil) I don't chain vape so don't suffer from "heavy lungs." At lower wattages (below 20), I use a thinner liquid - more like 50/50. I have found that my water intake increases with the increase in PG - hard to imagine, given I drink about 128 oz/day! And as I've said, I'm a long steeper, which does seem to intensify flavors. No loss of flavor for me in higher VG ratios. Of course, YMMV :)

My new setup is Coolfire IV with iSub G tank and Eleaf iStick 40W with Nautilus tank. I still have a lot to learn about the wattage voltage thing. But you guys have been so great to help me. I get a little confused when reading the forums because it seems everyone does things differently LOL I think it will be easier when I get my new set up an I can test and experience it myself.

Caramel Pear Black Tea is a hard one to jump right into. It's not for me anymore. I used to love it, but now I can't do it.

I hope I like it. I find I don't care for tobacco flavors. I vaped some Peach River Tree Blend and the first few vapes were nice but the more I vaped the worse the flavor was to me. I have tried other tobacco blends in the past with the same result. So I decided to try some tea blends to see if I would like them.

Well, it's not so much about the tea blends as much as it is about that one specific blend. It's very strong black tea. I do love Ahl's teas though. Their Ginger Orange Oolong is so spot on it's crazy. Wait, is that one even still on the menu?

Find one or two people that you trust and listen to them. Once you begin to understand it there is no such things as too much information but at first just listen to the same few or you will be all over the place with different opinions. Looks like you bought gear to sub ohm from the get go which is unusual. Not bad, just unusual.

It's funny you should say that, chanel. Great advice. Even after a year (and lots of reading), I still go to just a couple of people for advice/answers regarding hardware. Not at all that others don't have a lot to offer; they do, absolutely. But a handful of folks know me and I trust them. :)

Mr. Mann, whom I've followed since I was brand new, personifies what SHOULD be, and often is, a typical vaper experience. He solidly commits to a hardware style, flavor genre, profile, until he doesn't. He doesn't knock anyone else for their current preferences, and keeps an open mind despite whatever his current preference is.

He unabashedly went from a strong NET only tootle puffer, to a fruit basket vaper, to an RDA fanatic. Currently, I put him in the RDA and ground breaking new RTA camp on gear, and off the beaten path flavor profile. I've pretty much followed behind him, but couldn't do the NET thing. Yuck.

Anyway, whether mods, tanks, RDA's, or flavor companies and flavor genre's within, in each one there is the good, the bad and the ugly. Following the right persons advice can make a BIG difference in how you experience that aspect of vaping and whether you find it fantastic or folly.

Bout sum things up Mr. Mann, or have I left anything out?

I also like to start threads. LOL. My thread list looks like a regular post list. But for real, thanks, LL.

I don't think it's so much "people you trust" as finding people with similar taste and preferences. If someone likes big setups, elaborate RBAs and tobacco liquids, they're not the right person for me to listen to. But they could be the perfect advisor for someone else.

There are a few absolutes like "PG is drying" or high mAh is better than low, but mostly it's a matter of what works for you. (And I didn't know about "heavy lung" which has happened to me a few times recently and I put it down to allergies, so thanks all for the info.)

It think it was much easier to start vaping 5 years ago. The equipment wasn't as good but all you needed to decide in order to start vaping was "cartridge vs cartomizer" (and the threading on your battery -- but there were adaptors so that didn't matter too much.) People who want to start today get dropped into an ocean of choices and have to pick which life raft to grab. Very confusing.

I've been vaping for more than 3 years on the same equipment. Literally in some cases LOL I just had 2 different Volt batteries vent in my hand while I was vaping them. They made a loud hissing noise and a horrible ammonia smell came from the bottom. I use the charger that came with them so they were charged correctly. They went into the trash immediately. I thought it was time for an upgrade. LOL My husband met a guy vaping a Coolfire IV and he told me about it. They man had nothing but good things to say about the unit and he had only been vaping a year. So I checked them out, read the reviews, ask some questions here and decided to give it a try. I won't deny I am a little nervous but I will scour the user's manual and do what you suggested, which is talk to some folks here that I know won't steer me wrong or that have one of these themselves. Everything came in today. YAY!!!

Glacier, how scary! I don't personally own one, but check out the Innokin threads (on my phone or I would post links). The Coolfire IV seems to be a hit. I have several Innokin devices and the quality is excellent.

It was. It happened one right after the other. It scared me.

Found a bottle of Fijian Nights yesterday I bought about seven-eight months ago. Filled a squonker this morning, my is it delicious. Tastes much better than FOOB.
Everything tastes better in s squonker Inspects! But I bet that super steeped Fijian was the BOMB. I haven't had Fijian since Shipwreck wrecked my love affair with her..lol
