It could probably be a fairly simple machine... measure how much the wire should shrink when folding, measure precisely how much tension is required to get it to fold correctly without breaking (this may be the hard part)... the top piece that twists the wire is stationary (electric drill, say), the bottom piece is on a small sled that can slide up and down, a toggle switch is mounted in precisely the right place that when the wire shrinks to the proper length the sled flips the switch off cutting power to the drill. It would take some fiddling to get it working smoothly but I bet it would work pretty well.

The reverse twisting... I'm not sure. Maybe just count the number of turns required for a set length. I inspect visually and bend the wire back and forth to see how it's holding together.

In order to really produce a good amount I imagine you'd have to have several of these machines set up and as soon as you started selling, everyone would want you to drill atomizer posts too.

A BIG shout out to onjre for providing me a sample more than I expected to try this thing. Mundy this thing is epic. I wasn't able to keep up with 6 mg. This is how good it is. Here it is on a zenith. 1.4mm 5 wraps 0.8 ohms.

Thanks again onjre, I owe you one. Ordered 100 ft of 0.6 0.07 Told u I'm not lazy :)

Any trick in keeping the wraps squeezed together?

Any trick in keeping the wraps squeezed together?

when you wrap the coil, pinch it tight with metal tweezers or needle nose pliers, and heat it with a torch until it glows red. Cool it down by blowing on it or under water. It should stay tight after that, but if it doesn't the first time, repeat the heat treatment.

Give it an annealing after making and before wrapping and it will take the spring out of it.
I don't anneal first anymore and I just wrap, install on posts still on wrapping form, remove form, dry burn and immediately after letting off the power squeeze, let cool while squeezing, repeat dry burn squeeze as needed (2 to 3 times) and it will heat from middle out like it should.

The one I'm tooting on now.
Nothing special just a few squeezes.

With MM you dont need to have the wraps touching, infact I like wider gaps than close together. But if you would like to try and get them close a good trick I have found is to wrap your coils as close as you can get them on you jig/form then while you still have tension on the tight coil hit it with a torch. Torching it while keeping tension on the coil will keep the MM from having any spring back and allow it to keep its shape. I do this for all my coils and it helps me wrap true micro's because of no spring back.

wrap the coils as tight and close to one another as you can... you could use pliers to wrap and pull tight

once wrapped hold coils on mould with your thumb so they don't move or unwrap... then grab both legs at the same time with your pliers and pull any spring left in them...

keep your pliers tight on the legs and remove your mould... the coil should stay in shape while you heat and cool a few times

insert your mould back into the coil... hold coil tight with your thumb on the back of the coil and mould again so it doesn't unwind off your mould

now you can take off the pliers and whilst keeping pressure on the back of the coil and mould insert the legs into your post holes and tighten up the screws

if your coil is the same width or length as the distance between your posts then once you've tightened the post screws it shouldn't move(because you have the friction between the coils)... if it does then use the heat up coil and press coils together with pliers trick

easy peasy

Tried some 4 strand magic since I have high amp VV capability now.
Did a 6 wrap on 1.35mm for .7 ohms.
Too hot at 5V for me, at 4.5V it is so so, at at plain 4V it is just not as good in the flavor department as 3 strand.
Put it on the OliveR just to test without electronics and I still prefer the 3 strand for flavor and it has a hint of lag but not bad.
Also did a dual 6 wrap of 3 strand with a faux dibi crack on the Stratus 22 modded for BF.
Can't say I liked it any better than same single coil in the RM2, but that is probably due to the comparatively huge chamber.

Alex ive just looked on LVAPES to get some of the same ribbon you use but atm they don't seem to have it.. the closest thing I see is 0.5x0.1mm 8.52ohms/ft have you had success with this/used this?

they also have 0.4x0.1 I wonder if it would just break to easy..

also Is your stuff 0.6x0.7 or x0.1 wasn't sure if you mistyped mate thanks

Yes .6 X .07 is the magic size.

Fleabay is the only place I have ever seen it.

.4 X .1 is kinda like regular wire, maybe a little enhancement.
.5 X .1 isn't quite there, but not too shabby.
.6 X .1 is a bit too little resistance for the area.
.8 X .1 is too much area for the resistance.
1 X .05 doesn't fold right and makes a knotted mess.
